Oh totally. In fact in many RATM songs, the guitar parts are single note and kinda not huge in isolation. It's a bit like the entire band, it's all of them together making it huge! For sure bulls on parade is all about the bass.
Rage against the machine is the most overrated rap rock band ever. 311 rocks harder, without forcing their political agendas on their listeners. Heavier riffing, faster rapping, wider styles of music.
@@emoboi311 Why do you listen to this then hahah. But no for real Tom Morello is a great guitarist I wouldn't say genius but his style is very unique and recognizable. Also why do you think they are overrated?
@@tadomeka7892 they’re overrated because they’re the most “commercially recognizable” band just because music listeners are lazy and don’t know other rap rock bands. Their riffs are predictable, Tom Morello stole a lot of his guitar techniques from Buckethead. Another underrated musician.
It's only in the left speaker, the overdub guitar. In the right speaker, he plays what you probably have been playing all along, and thats the main guitar. Check it out.

mamityh In the studio the guitarist plays along to the drum track, and the drum sound often bleeds into the mic recording the guitar. You'll hear faint drumming in the background in many of these "master track" videos.
@@bigbowlowrong4694 yup, according to Tom, they recorded the drums, bass, and first guitar track live with the amps facing the wall to get as little bleed as possible. They then overdubbed some stuff later.
This video shows just how much Tim adds into the mix
you mean Tom?
Nope. If you listen to the final mix of this song, you'll notice that Tim's bass provides the explosive quality of the intro riff.
copy that.

Actually I think Tom used an octave pedal here
Hearing that solo by itself is just so magical.
I like the part where the guitar goes WAH WAH CHIKA WAH WAH CHIKA CHIKA CHIKA. And I also like the part that goes er-er-eeerrrr d-d-d-rrrrr
WAH WAH CHIKA WAH WAH CHIKA CHIKA CHIKA
Shows u how important bass really is
Helena Bednarski the bass is the highest contributor to the songs heaviness. But this guitar track is amazing.
Tom Morello deserves more appreciation. He's an absolute genius
For using a wah pedal and killswitch?
Yeah he created his own unique sound that drove Rage

That's wrong. He plays the verse and the chorus with the same neck position, the sound that you hear there it's only the wah getting turned off

what the hell is sounding on the back on the intro like a screech
Is he using an octave? 0:06
nop,i dont think so,he just is playing the same note but one octave up
He has his Digitech Whammy on in the Harmonize setting while he plays the two notes in octave. Doesn’t do this live though
Is it the left side guitar or right that’s using the Whammy Pedal?
2:35 you're a guitarist but a DJ also .
One does not simply, put this on without trying to tap on the desk thinking they know how to be Brad Wilk.
Probably they recorded the basic take live.
