Ships operate under Admiralty law. Iran is guilty because they are sponsoring terrorism. International law involves multiple nations. Britain is not violating admiralty law, while Iran is. Take up a whole battle ship to have 1 operating one. Then forced to escort it with 2 fleets, 1 for it and 1 for a back up power. Yeah Nuclear can't power rail guns very effective unless you wanna blow the core. Planes can't carry a rail gun either, it will either take up to much space for its charge to run, or it will be to small that any other weapon on a plane would be far more effective. Dont even try to say anything about tanks or soldiers carrying one. It won't work cause the same reason, SIZE vs USE.

Well technically it wasn't an Iranian vessel, it was from Panamar. But the oil on the vessel was Iranian. The ship was illegally delivering oil to Syria. Britain was upholding international sanctions against Syria.
