We embark in Vancouver, but seeing your trip ex San Francisco, I wish I had seen it earlier!! Thank you for showing the towns you visited, most of which are on my cruise. I decided not to book 'tours" as they were extortinate $500 to $1000 AUSSIE....I decided just to enjoy the towns, which you have showed me is a great experience.... We are blessed in this Province with everything from rainforest to desert! I just hope this year gives us a rest from the relentless fires and you can fully enjoy your travel experience. Do keep that factor in mind, though, make sure you have adequate travel insurance!

Lol, I love that you stopped in Prince Rupert! It's true, the docks there are more geared for industrial use. A lot of times, moving cargo from the ports in Vancouver into Northern BC is impractical and the port at PR is really essential for cargo and trade up there. All the same, it sounds like a great representation of small town life in British Columbia, a local museum, craft vendors, and Timmy Ho's! Classic!
I have been considering an Alaskan cruise, but being born and raised in BC and having traveled and lived in both the coastal and interior regions, it sounds like a lot of what I grew up around and I would like to experience something new. Currently looking at doing my first cruise, solo, on a 16 day round trip to Hawaii in 2025 aboard the Coral Princess. Anyone here been on that ship before?

Prince Rupert for the win!! I met someone from Canada on a Norwegian cruise recently and asked them if they even knew that was a place and they had never heard of it before lol. And that sounds like an amazing journey to Hawaii. Never been on Coral Princess before. I would imagine a Hawaii trip would mean lots of sea days (which I enjoy)

@@SoloCruiseTravel I haven’t been to Prince Rupert but most Western Canadians will have heard of it…probably not so much for people East of Alberta, though. I’ve learned that the Coral Princess is one of the oldest ships in their fleet, it even still has a card room! It’s kind of why I wanted to cruise in it. Also, having spent so much time on BC Ferries, especially when I lived in Victoria, I love that the Coral Princess still has an outdoor promenade around the whole ship!

We did a cruise last June and there was still a great deal of snow on the mountains. The bears were just starting to wake up. The cost is lower in early June. If you can, avoid peak tourist season (July-August) as there are just way too many people at the ports and the ques are so long, you often just walk by.

That sounds like fun! There are so many great spots on Princess ships to have "me time" if you want but there are also so many lounges and spaces with plenty of people that if you want to make some new friends it is really easy. I enjoy Princess solo because of the OceanNow ordering option as well. Don't have to worry about losing your lounger on a busy sun day, you can just have things brought to you. The daily solo meet ups on the schedule I have seen be sparsely attended and also two dozen or more people meeting up, depending on ship. It's all in what you want. I do Princess solo for the total relaxation of it all. The ship demographic is usually much older so it gets quiet earlier and I really enjoy the serenity of it all.
