    Interesting, Having owned and used for years Jackson, Hobie and Old Town I'm really surprised you didn't mention Old Town. I fish salt water and all three preformed well, I think the experience you gain on rough water is most important, after a few years body roll in swells, head position, counter balance, situational awareness etc... the stability of your kayak depends more on you not the watercraft. Still wondering why you left out Old Town....

    Have owned a NuCanoe frontier for a number of years. I like that i can use my Minn Kota on the back when on larger lakes. Good tie down area for the battery behind the seat. I enjoy paddling it but it is slow secondary to 41 width. I often stand up and SUP using the Kayak paddle at its longest setting. Very stable and I feel solid when standing to fish. It is fun to take 2 people in the comfortable swivel chairs. My chocolate lab loves being able to stand and move around in the boat without rocking it. He leans his head way over when we bring a fish in to net. Haven't tried NuCanoe's pedal drive. Without the seat, my boat weighs 74#. I can load it on top of my Honda Pilot but I know some folks can't do so because of the weight. For me this would be the ideal boat if it weight 10 # less.

    If your ocean fishing especially off the coast of Northern California I would say hobie outback over pro angler. I have seen many people flip their pro anglers and loose all their gear. You get a fish on and a swell hits you at just the right angle while you’re leaning and it flips quick. Coming in through the surf can cause problems as well. The outback is lower center of gravity and you ride the swells a lot easier.

      ATAK is decent stability with good speed. I like the 120 but the 140 is just a beast lol

      That's a great point!
      Blue sky is a bit tricky to categorize but it is definitely stable

    What about kaku Zulu or voodoo?

    • @thebeardedpaddler

      Not as stable as the ones on the list. I've seen a few of them but they just aren't for me.

    No Kaku kayaks? They are way more stable than a few on this list. Have you guys actually tried them?

    • @thebeardedpaddler
      @thebeardedpaddler  6 месяцев назад

      Yes I have. They have stability but not to where I would put them on this list

    What would you choose between the Coosa hd and the outlawim around 280 and looking for something for river and some sea fishing for reds

    • @thebeardedpaddler
      @thebeardedpaddler  7 месяцев назад

      Outlaw will be more stable but considerably slower to paddle. The Coosa HD is a bit faster and better suited for rivers. Really depends on your needs.

      Not for this list. These are industry wide reviews. Kaku are still stable obviously. Hard to pick out just 10

    I don't think the PA is one of the most stable kayaks. It's one of those deceptively stable kayaks, if your not careful you can spill easy. The feel free Dorado should have been on that list I've been in a lot of kayaks and that one definitely sticks out as maybe the top four.

      Because the others are more stable. And frankly the quality really falls short.

    I have a Big Rig HD. It has been a tank for me. Had it since 2019. Thinking about upgrading to a Native 12.5 Titan X. Love the idea of the pedal drive to add to my Torqeedo
