Love the silence, the purity of the white snow, the clarity of the blue sky. And another sunset to take my breath away. This might be my favorite of all your winter camping videos. Must watch it again to confirm! (Also the coffee.)
I live in Oslo, and i love this city because your only 30 mins to the forest in any direction ,, far from what you are doing,,, but when you reach out and touch nature then your truly alive and just breathing in the air is sometimes all you need ... so good to see and presented well ..tusen takk.......
Bless ur heart Jarl. This was incredible. N all the scenes of my sons smile shining bright over the land was just so special. The stars too. I had a star named for him n memory. It’s at the edge of The Big Dipper. Thank u for sharing ! 🫵👍🙏❄️❤️🤘 TJ
Incredible scenery. Got to love the zero and below camping. I've ridden my motorcycle in similar temps. But not the conditions. Got to be prepared. Very enjoyable to watch. Your buddy Erling has it going on. An evening ski trip. Really good vid and photography captures.
You're experiencing a part of the world I can only enjoy through your videos. I like the way you organize your equipment in the vestibule, it's a living room in your 5-Star hotel. Thank you for taking your time, effort & equipment to share your adventures with MEeee. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
I felt you were coming, Jarl. 😃 And you appeared heavily backpacked. Lucky to have a sunny day. I suppose above the polar-circle ? No more pine-trees.- What touches me so deeply in this amazing endlessness, I do repeat it, is the overwhelming mightyness of silence. Perhaps only the howling of the wind sweeping up the snow-diamonds in the sunlight. Good company at "night": sweet moon and Bear(?)-constellation. As always, a wonderful evocation of winterly Splendour of Nature. Good luck, dear Jarl ! Keep safe ! 💜
You often make me think of piano-pieces as "Der einsame Wanderer", Gurlitt and other composers. - Perhaps one day you could make a book "The Lonely Wanderer - Come and join me" - or "The Song of Norway" : text, anecdotes, reflections, pictures of the most beautiful views, summer and winter... Wouldn't that be an intimate hommage to your beloved country ?
The Orion constellation is a favorite. Incredibly vivid in the cold evening atmosphere. Plus your time lapse pointing straight on to Polaris, incredible. Great content, brother!
Thank you for bringing back memories of the snowpacks up in Squaw Valley, CA. as well as sharing the awe that was welling up in you as you were first settling down at the entrance of your tent.
Hello Friend! You definitely make videos in the most beautiful places in the world! I really want to visit and know Norway one day. Thanks for sharing these amazing videos! Greetings!
You can’t go wrong with coffee and chocolate, and that goulash didn’t look bad either! Another stunning video from you Jarl and I’m happy you had a friend to join you. Loved seeing the stars, I imagine the Milky Way looks beautiful up there as well. 🌟 ✨❤️
I loved the wind patterns on the snow. Your detail shots were amazing, and the starscape was incredible. I bet that morning windchill was an eye-opener! Woo-hoo! lol Beautifully done Jarl. Thanks so much for taking us along. ♥
Another awesome video, scenes charming, these first minutes already made speechless always amazing to see how beautiful our planet , and yet weare still sitting in our homes in front of our computer. Thank for sharing ❄️🙏
Not seen the seating / kitchen area dug into the vestibule before so that was just great to see. Really one of the best camps I've watched so thanks for the effort you put in to sharing with us .
I love your adventures !!! Your movies motivating me so much so right now I have a gear wich is good for that kind of trip. I think I will try myself in Scotland this winter.
What a surprise ! ...another "fresh" video to be entartained on sunday :) . It was definitely cold but , at least , the day was great , sunny and without strong wind : you probably enjoyed more the surroundings . Greetings and "see you" soon :) . Fabio
Hello! It's a dream to watch this video. What wonderful weather conditions touched you! The footage, as always, totally stable, with great detail, absolutely perfect. Now if you allow me, I ask you the following questions: 1) Where did you set up this camp and how far from the nearest urban center? Can you estimate the weight you carry in your backpack for a winter camping night like this? A big greeting and my thanks for allowing us to experience such extraordinary places through your recordings.
Oh, are you okay? It's very cold, but I'm worried that there might be something wrong with my health. You're an expert, so you can do it on your own, but don't overdo it!
Thank you, this was my first one filmed partly with a Sony a7m4, some was also filmed with iphone 13 promax, the wider shots, and nightlapse filmed with gopro 10
I really enjoy your winter films! Just wondering what made you change from the one person Soulo you used in some earlier trips, to the 3 person Naldo? And why not the 2 person version?
As others have said, another awesome video. Your new camera’s resolution… incredible. Jarl, I know that pack is an HMG SW series.. guessing 3400, how are you strapping your Exped flexmat to the center of the pack? You add some additional webbing from some attachment points? Nice carry feature.
Thanks David, I am pretty stoked about the resolution and the colors indeed, and this is only the first time I film with it, so it should improve hopefully. I have the 4400 which is 70L and I bought the additional straps for attaching stuff to the outside of the pack, they are a bit flimsy but they work for lighter stuff.
Your one of the few people I see on I-tube that uses a canister style stove insisted of like withe gas style like Msr or some sort, why is that? I always feelt that I can't trust a canister gas stove, even though I use winter gas? Lover your videos btw, they always seems to sothe my mind! Always a joy
I have seen so many of your videos and this is the only one that bothered me. It seemed as if you were the only person in the world, so very vast and empty. I thought, who would find you up there should you fall in to a crevasse or some other accident? I’m kind of overreacting I think and don’t know why it affected me like this but it did. But it was still stunningly beautiful and dramatic. Such an adventure is not experienced by too many people…we are blessed to be taken along. Did your friend ski back down in the dark?😮
Beautiful. I noticed that the skies got darker at night in this video than they did in your last video (sleeping without a tent on a mountain top), is the difference because the time of year?
Great video, I liked it, keep up the good work. By the way, I also recently started making videos about hiking and bushcraft, look at it somehow, I assure you it will be a lot of fun.
