Even if the '80-'81 Turbo's aren't the fastest Trans Ams, they're still some of the most beautiful looking cars ever. And for sure will increase in value regardless of their stock power, especially the clean Original Bandit versions with low mileage.
How can you not want to drive it more then 9,000 miles in all those years of ownership? Beautiful car the rims were the only thing that turned me off the TA and made the Z28 perhaps my first choice. BUT what a car ..... so jealous and thanks for sharing guys.
Love the look of this Trans Am... the black and gold is perfect, completes the style! Beautifully done gold Firebird on the hood! Very Special ride! Impressive looking chrome, some major bling in this engine compartment!!!! Smokey And The Bandit - really cool! Awesomely loaded TA, very fun video! Thank you!
Hi WickedFireFly13, Glad you "Love the look of this Trans Am" and then...you're wonderful details. Thank you for viewing, sharing, and you're welcome, Lou
Boy, he sure did keep that nice....I remember my buddy at work back in the day had a black TA....I was so jealous. I surely had an emotional attachment to my 73 Caprice, but there was no way it could compare...
My absolute favorite cars the 79-81s. I've got both the 80 & 81 pace cars and would love to add this one to the collection. Thank God it doesn't have that disgusting saddle interior. This ta is just gorgeous... God it's such a sexy sports car. I really am jealous right now.
Hi Useful Entertainment, Thank you for viewing and sharing this is your absolute favorite :-) We have a Winner. No need to be jealous, keep watching this video again and again until the breathing gets normal again, that's what I do :-) Lou
Gorgeous Trans Am. I have a 1980 Pace Car Trans Am but my dream car is the one from Smokey and the Bandit 2. It's just like this one but with vinyl seats.
The "Smokey & The Bandit II" Turbo T/A....cool! The movie car also had a Marvin Miller nitrous system to help during the jump over Burford's '80 Bonneville(which somehow turned into a '76 during the jump, and back into a '80 afterwards☺).
My "Money's no object" dream car! '77 -- '81 body style is timeless! However, I would want mine to look completely period correct inside and out but be modern under the skin for reliability.
I couldn't stop smiling through this video. Brought back memories from the '80's. A buddy had a '78 with a 400 and 4 spd. I'm not sure if he claimed it was a blue block, or an American block? Not familiar with GM lingo. Black and Gold with the T-tops. Road trip to West Edmonton mall, exit ramp said 40 KPH. Half way through he said bull shit and floored it. SURPRISE it took a hard right at the end. Still can't believe it didn't slide along the guard rail.
i Love t/a i had 5 and sold my last one in 2008, it was a white 1981 with 455 and i regret it verry mutch, now i have a 74 cuda but if life goes well i will buy another one for sure :)
Rule #1 with a Turbo Trans Am, never, ever, ever, ever, ever shut down the engine unless you let it idle down for about 30 seconds. This is in the owner's manual. I also have one of these, a 26k original in storage. My parents bought it brand new.
Thanks, all.. nice Car, etc. My Special Edition Hurst HATCH:was ordered OCT 76, picked up March 77: 400/auto/ps/Pb/Tint -delete window, Velour Interior/ Tilt Wheel/Hurst( changed to other Tops LATER Vehicles), ZIEBART rust Rotection, etc. KIND of sporty high use Family Car, but good for some130K miles Family use,..KONI SHOCKS, HO UPGTPRADES, ETC.ROAD SALT GOT inside/Frame/etc: started Restorations: but ended up getting $100, salvage Yard..in 1990’s....ACTUALLY honeycomb Rims &/Dash, etc probably worth more than that even then. EST of Day.
I'm not saying I don't believe it, but I don't understand how he bought the car new in 1980 and it only has 9K miles on it. He bought it just for a show car and didn't drive it? Anyway, it's a great car -- thanks, Lou!

This 80 TTA is not a real se and I'll prove it real quick! It has Chrome trim running from the front side window pillars matching the t-top chrome lip the se did not have this period no way around it!!! The trans am by pontiac decal on the front bumper did not come on the trans am after 79 period, if u notice the turbo scoop has a se stripe which is not factory by any means(aftermarket), the roof stripes are too close together as the trunk stripes are further apart, the style of the se stripes are aftermarket which resemble the dealer installed se stripes offered to ppl who couldn't afford a se back in the day, the gold steering whl spokes were not available after 79 for 80 they went to blk spokes, if u also notice the steering whl is fat like the 70-76, this 80 TTA was prob a reg blk on blk car and he or dealer added the fake se stripes, without the hood bird it would not make it a formula smh,the se stripes he has are aftermarket not factory look how skinny they are the small part is smaller than the real se stripe, there antenna on the driver rear isn't factory u either got it on the front windshield or front fender, if u look at the door jam stickers real close u can see its been repainted as under the hood so he prob faked it as a se not the dealer
