Steve Park's Final Race with DEI as well as Jeff Green's Final Race with RCR before swapping rides which would carry over into The NASCAR Thunder 2004 Game 4 months later
I love when I see Richmond races from this Era because from 2001-2013 I went to every spring Richmond race with a friend of mine.We bought a little pop-up and stayed in the yard of a house right across the street at a guy named George who was a truck driver.Lots of good memories and was great because it was a Saturday night race I can't believe they changed that.
My first nascar race that I ever went, Saw Joe Nemechek in his trailor and got my hat autographed by him, and my family and I told him good luck and look what happened.. he won it
Looks like Matt Kenseth's team brought out one of Matt's old hoods, because most of the time Matt drove with a yellow hood in 2003, it was likely the car he won Richmond with the previous year in 2002.
2003 Pontiac Excitement 400 Location: Richmond, Virginia Track: Richmond International Raceway Type of race track: Short Track Starting cars: 43 Finishing cars: 34 Laps: 393 Scheduled laps: 400 Cautions: 15 Red flags: 1 Pole Winner: Terry Labonte (5) Most laps led: Joe Nemechek (25) (156 laps led) Race Winner: Joe Nemechek (25)
Interestingly, Joe Nemechek drove for three Multi-car operations Sabco, HMS, and MB2 and Joe won with all of them. I felt like Joe was a better Busch competitor than he was a Cup driver and won the Busch title in 1992 but to win with all three organizations in Cup, that is pretty good for a career like his. And Joe was a pretty good qualifier. Not sure if he will make the Hall of Fame but he does have one Busch championship but not many Cup wins.
Harvick got up to speed a bit quicker while Green was more hesitant during the contact between Ward Burton and Ryan Newman. Plus, they were rivals in the Busch series and didn’t exactly have the camaraderie to have a functioning teammate relationship.

Peter Sospenzo's last win as a Cup crew chief until July 7, 2019 when he won with Justin Haley at Daytona, a race that was also rain shortened.
2:02:02 Initial wreck with Jeff Green

Better late than never...Thank you shouts from Mainz, Germany!!! Much appreciated..
Thanks King for bringing us the races.

Make it 4 different multi-car Cup teams. He won with Andy Petree at Rockingham in 2001. I was surprised that he won 16 Busch races.
I miss seeing the drivers from this NASCAR era compete :(
The race where Jeff Green got fired from RCR for going after Kevin Harvick's crew chief and his remarks about Harvick.
Just pointing out during pre race show, Tony Stewart is talking to Dave Marcis
Tony Stewart was busting Mike Joy's chops for getting his qualifying position wrong LOL
Who was that twin beside Andrea Nemechek? 2:52:40 Kimberly or Jennifer?
2:52:29 I cannot find this secondary/post race theme anywhere online, not sure why
Jack spraque was a weapon in this race. A rather entertaining race. Jimmy Spencer hit that wall hard! I always liked the 7 cars paint scheme. Mongo
Matt Kenseth had a 20 point lead after this race which was the closest anyone got to Matt in the points standings that year while he had the lead
Steve Park's final start in that DEI car.
And Jeff greens last for rcr
2:08 what does he say when Byrnes starts talking??
.
almost sounds like "bet!"
Keller's Cup Debut. XD
After 15 years, this would be the last time the first Richmond race would be sponsored by Pontiac.
Then Chevy took over and then Toyota
Go Pontiac !
Go Dodge!!!
Isn't it ironic that Nadeau was driving a Pontiac?
I love you.
Blimey, I didn't realise Keller jumped in Nadeau's car after his big crash? I thought it was Mike Wallace or something.
Mike Wallace was one of the guys to drive the 01 car after Richmond, until Joe Nemechek took it over, so I can see why you thought that.
Let's be clear, regardless of rain or whatever, Joe whipped their asses that night
I wonder why Harvick spun Green.

Fukuyama
DNS?
DNS means they did not run a qualifying lap
