Paddy, I just want to say how much I have enjoyed watching you grow in the content you produce! You have come a long way from live streaming in the 7-11 parking lot until now 🤭, not that I didn't enjoy that as well. Your videos are truly top notch! I'm so happy to have found your channel months and months ago. Can't wait to see what the future holds. I love the 'Live' premieres and how it gives your viewers the opportunity to interact with you, that's just one of many things that sets you apart from other 'RUclipsrs'. Thank you for all the hard work you do to create awesome 😎👍 content!
Paddy, you're doing such a great job of showcasing Northern and Eastern Thailand in a non-pretentious, informal and relaxed way. I'm really enjoying this series of yours. It's such a great part of the world. Thanks.
Paddy You have really raised the bar for all the Thailand RUclipsrs. Very impressive dragon and Buddha. Love your use of music. With all your time on dreamy, reminded me of Easy Rider
Before the rise of Khmer civilization there was Mon civilization housed in Thailand. Mon's civilizations were the predecessors of Khmer's and the Mon were one of the oldest ancestry of Thai people. Their second kingdom, Dvaravati was prosperous six centuries before the rise of Sukhothai. There left 50+ ancient Mon's ruins mostly built in Dvaravati period along with Khmer's ruins in Thailand today. Most of these ruins are located in Isan. Who knows the structure you found maybe a re-completion of an ancient ruin from the original base. The base looks real old. But the newer upper structure and the lion decoration statue are obviously re-created.
interesting. u know a lot of history. i just thought our ancestors were just from kunming. i've heard of the mon before but the kmers are more well known.
You don't have to believe in the religion but how can you not appreciate the craftsmanship and exquisite details of their religious iconography!!! Even the staircase that leads to the finger is uniquely made and detailed! It is so beautiful how they honor their religion.
I have lived here for 7 years and travelled to a lot of places. Your videos bring back some good memories. Your editing (and drone), music and sense of humour ensure I watch every one of your posts. Even my Thai gf has a laugh. Brilliant work Paddy!
Yes touring on a moped is really tough and physically demanding. It will take a toll on your body if you don't get sufficient rest. Ubon Ratchatani is my favorite province. Many places to visit and very little to no tourists. Take care my friend, ride safe!
Mahn, I don’t know how you do it; I stayed in Ubon for three years and drove every weekend to the neighbouring towns on my bike; the roads… during that time the road was under construction hopefully they finished the freeways, and you had a smooth trip from Mukdahan to Ubon and hopefully no incidents with animals on the highway ; stay safe.
I'm from Sakon Nakhon. I haven't been back home for almost 7 years now. Thank you for the video. I miss my home town a lot. A lot of things have changed. Specially the temple on your video. Before I come to the UK the temple wasn't like that. But still haven't plan to go back to Thailand any time soon 😔.
Fun stories. The Nagas (or Nahk in Thai) are actually serpentine gods, not dragons. They are the Gods of Rain in the Isan folklores. The distinction is that the Nagas do not have limbs or feet. With their domains being the underworld (the waters), they are the protectors of farmers and agriculture. Some of the “higher class” ones serve the higher gods in heavens and go back and forth between the heavens and the underworld. Nagas are often depicted as swimming in the water or to the sky. For them to be on land, they have to be accompanied by the Heras, the Terminal Gods, who resemble closer to Chinese dragons but smaller. A Naga will slither out of a Hera’s mouth so they don’t connect with dirt of the ground. As seen on the rails of most temple’s grand stairs, especially in Isan. The dirt symbolises “impurities”, and since the Nagas are responsible to the source of lives (water), they must remain as pure as possible.
Hi Paddy! Great video! The biggest Thailand Buddha statue is in Ang Thong Province near Ayutthaya. The Statue is 93 meters tall and the temple is called Wat Muang. Have you visited that province yet? Keep nice work!!!
Great vibes there...beautiful, as well. An unpretentious part of Thailand...I need to keep that in mind when I’m there. It really feels like another country up there between Laos and Thailand - Laoland? The vibe is amazing. It’s effect on you, Paddy is very noticeable...it’s like you’re breathing again. A word for the effect a place has on us must be created...let’s consult Greek - topoestanom (topo - place and estanom - feeling). True evidence of how effing bored I am and how grateful I am to you for showing me the most beautiful country in the world. Thanks again, Bro’. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hi Paddy - Thanks for the fantastic video of Wat Phra That Choeng Chum. 3 months a year I live 5 minutes from the temple, and visit it often. Nice to have high quality video to share with friends. It's a real working temple, the heart of Sakon Nakhon, with many community events there. I hope you can visit again when you have a little more time, and get to know the Sakon Nakhon people a little. It's not really a tourist city, most don't speak English, I'll sometimes go days without seeing another farang. The people are traditional and kind, with old school family values. To me Sakon Nakhon represents the real Thailand, not the mobs in Phuket, Chiang Mai, or BKK. If you do visit, a must see is Wat Tham Pha Daen. Mainly a Thai tourist temple, it's my favorite tourist temple in Thailand, the natural beauty of of the hilltop setting is integrated with the temple like none I've seen elsewhere. Sakon Nakhon is not for everyone, or not even for most, but for some who want to experience traditional Isaan culture, Sakon Nakhon is perfect. Good luck in your travels, and thanks again.
At Mukdahan the roast piglet restaurants by the Mekong is yummy😋. Keep Dreamy happy and she will keep you safe on the road. Take care and safe journey…..
Just as a bit of trivia interest, the Thai mor lam singer and actor, Ble Patumrach is from Amnat Charoen province. I had the pleasure of seeing one of his live concerts in Chonburi in 2019, and he does a kick-ass concert. Definitely try to catch a concert if he is currently touring. Or try to catch some mor lam concert while in Isan, and a parade if you can find one-- those are a quite amusing.
Really enjoyed this video...I love visiting Isan. When you are in Ubon you must visit Wat Phra That Nong Bua...a stunningly beautiful temple and something different to your normal Thai Temple. I loved Ubon and remember a restaurant on the mun river outside of the city...beautiful place. Enjoy your time in Ubon. When you get to Khon Kaen make a visit to Wat Nong Wang...another unique temple shaped like a pyramid providing great views over Khon Kaen city. Another place worth a visit is Ubol Ratana Dam and the big Buddha that overlooks the reservoir (Wat Phra Bat Phu Phan) 😁👍
Another spectacular video Paddy! It does look exhausting though. That first temple with the reflective tiles was incredible! And I loved the massive dragon and Buddha statues! The dragon reminded me a little of the statues at the "Blue Temple" in Chiang Rai. Hope you get some good rest mate!
Great video Paddy. Dreamy just keeps going and going. 🛵 Good value with the accommodation. The Temples look amazing and that Buddha was massive. Thank You. 🙏👍
The funny thing to me is how impressed I was the first time I went to Thailand and ofcourse visit wat pho and seeing the reclining Buddha and it's size. I thought this must be the biggest Buddha in the world. In your videos I've seen at least 5 much bigger Buddha's that are just randomly there.
Great adventure Paddy. Your selection of music is very good and suitable for the different scenes. Keep going. Following you on this great adventure with Dreamy................
**A tip** Lower the music volume levels when you do your driving transitions. A bit too loud. I turn up volume when you talk, and lower it when you are driving.

Yet anther great video, I'm sort of catching up on your videos since I was out of town, I think I have just a few more to go. I've been to Thailand and have experience huge statues and I wonder actually pays for these huge statues? Big FAN Paddy!
I went to Thailand first time in 2010 and fell in love. Then two more times and recently in dec 2019. I love this serie of yours and to see the north. Have you heard if camping is a thing in Thailand? Like with a van would it be hard to find places to overnight :) would you be allowed to park at a public beach or is there camping spots
Inside the awesome majestic glittering golden temple housed a plainly Buddha, which I believe to be very very holy to be able to place in such esteem temple.
I wonder how recent the Buddha and Dragon installation is? I like the look of the chocolate cake that Buddha is sitting on 🍰🍰🍰 (I mean Nakh not dragon - sorry) .
In Sakon Nakhon at Christmas time. It is a big Christian community there.also bestest Christmas celebrations in Thailand. You should check the date and try 👍👍
Hay paddy Lao looking not so backwood in the lock down i told check Todd channel Now in lao new trains may be you should go and have a look they are trying to catch up mate
I went to Thakhek across the Mekong River from Nakon Phanom, in Laos & then on to tour the Kong Lohr Cave N/E of Thakhet. It runs 7km under a mountain. you can boat thru it. A fabulous Visit. I found the Laos speak much better English than Thais, due to their French based Lycee School System.

Welcome to Ubon Paddy
Paddy, the flat tyre was form the metal wire from a worn out truck tyre. These metal fibers collect on the side of the road. We find if we ride as much as possible on the main road and not on the side we don’t get as many punctures
Good to know 😊
If you ever need to smile just watch a Paddy video.
😍😍😍
Paddy, what's wrong with your audio signal? Humming more than the dreamy rear wheel.. 🤣
Thanks for another exciting video. I love spicy Isan food, though I only use fish sauce in my Som Tum. I can't wait to see where you will go in Ubon Ratchathani Province my birth place.

If ever Dreamy make it to the end of your adventures... Honda Thailand should give you a new one. 😂
Little known fact: I used to play in a garage band in Bakersfield called "The Rotten Krathongs."
I went to Thailand first time in 2010 and fell in love. Then two more times and recently in dec 2019. I love this serie of yours and to see the north. Inside the awesome majestic glittering golden temple housed a plainly Buddha, which I believe to be very very holy to be able to place in such esteem temple.
25:40 That remind me of stray dogs in Bangkok. Some of them are smart enough to use overpass bridge to cross the wide road.
Mickey has the bigger bike . But you have the bigger heart.
I get a little Green Day vibe of your current style 😁.
Fantastic - thank you!
I wonder how recent the Buddha and Dragon installation is? I like the look of the chocolate cake that Buddha is sitting on 🍰🍰🍰 (I mean Nakh not dragon - sorry) .
The temple is so beautiful.
Enjoying your trip
