Khon Kaen is one of the largest provinces and has a large economic base in the Northeastern region. There are large hospitals, both public and private. And there are famous universities in the country as well.
Just an amazing place. I am running out of adjectives to say how much I am impressed and love these Thailand locations. This place was exactly what the doctor ordered for you Paddy. So happy for you in this one.
Khon Kaen hosts one of the more open and innovative university in Thailand. Among its distinct alumni is the internationally best known Thai movie director - who sports several prestigious Cannes Film Festival awards in recent years. Interesting indeed. My best wishes of a productive stay in Khon Kaen, Paddy.
love the sunset, drone footage and the music!😍 we definitely felt the vibe and how happy you are talking about this place! thanks for sharing this with us mate!🙏
Glad you recharged your battery, Paddy. KK city has really changed into a more modern city; yet, the old neighborhood streets still have that “old town” feeling. It’s a nice mix.
Amazing video. Thanks so much to exposing us to rural Thailand. This province looks spectacular. Nice to see your energy back up and you enjoying travel. Dreamy is part of the adventure!
Glad you loved Khon Kaen...I was getting nervous after some of your videos. It is a place very dear to my heart and I miss it and my Thai family. Great video of Ubol Ratana dam and reservoir, it's so amazingly stunning 👍
I'm so happy that Khon kaen put you in a good mood. This is a fantastic province with all Thailand has to offer (except the beach). The sunset part at the end was epic
Excellent video Mr. Doyle. I hope you do stay in Khon Kaen. My wife is born and raised in Khon Kaen and we plan to retire there. I really like how you are capturing the essence of an amazing location. Keep up the fantastic work Paddy!
Happy you are back to enjoying yourself and feeling better. You take such good care of Dreamy too. She is a good girl and has taken you all around Thailand! Looks like a nice, modern city you are in. Always looking forward to your next video. 🤗
gotta say, i love the bike! it is old school and very country style. love it ! im from khon kaen and wasnt able to go back for a few years now post covid.. ridiculous ! missing home a lot. thank you so much for this video it just makes me miss my home even more. i can not wait to visit my home city once again!
Your video just popped up on my screen. Thanks for visiting my town Khonkaen. It’s been growing rapidly since 5 yrs I didn’t visit but finally visited last year. Enjoy local foods & fruits. 🤤
Enjoyed that Paddy, I only ever passed through Khon Kaen on the bus, but seeing this I will definitely spend more time there next time, Good to see you cheered up
Beautiful. As usual. :) I love that Dreamy is still chugging right along! Poor ole girl... she will definitely be glad when you are done with this adventure! :) You most definitely look like you have taken time for you... your 'glow' is back. Glad to see that!
What an amazing journey of Khon Kaen. It is so lively and full of vibes. Enjoy your time as there is so much to do there.Tq for the video. Hope Dreamy will recover fully in time.🙏 .
Khon Kaen is my home town. You should go try grilled skinny chicken, crispy skin and moist in the inside. Everyone loves it. It’s a popular local dish near the dam. Wunna is a famous restaurant there which has an outlet in the city centre.
Wonderful video, I've been here bit over a week, I'm not going to go back to wherever I came from, can't even remember anymore 😁 Khon Kaen 🥰 truly a magical place to call home.
the 10th annual Isaan music Festival will be held in early Feb on the dam in Khon Kaen. Its a bit like the Thai version of Woodstock and goes for 3 days...
i love khon kaen. i too could live there. really thought i would do but circumstances change. i always stay at the kosa. love this art deco hotel, a little tired but beautiful. many wonderful Thai friends here that i miss. always go back to see them.
I have been in Thailand 8 years (Bangkok 5 and Udonthani 3) and owned a Honda Wave 125 from new in that time. I generally only take the motorbike to a Honda dealer because they put genuine Honda parts and oil in and the cost is little if more than an independent. If you leave your old Honda Dream at the Honda delaer for 5 days, they would be able to get any new part and seal for that motorbike.
I enjoyed watching this vlog Paddy! Yes- Dreamy is definitely a part of you…..it won’t be the same if you were to replace her😉 I bought 2 different colors Dreamy T-shirts and love them! My husband & I will be wearing them when we’re in Thailand this February 🛵🛵🛵 Thanks for sharing this video :)
Hi paddy another great video beautiful place. I've never had a bike but love my cars and I had one car leaked oil for ten years couldn't cure it so I just kept topping it up a friend told me it was a good thing because you always had fresh oil in it what a reliable car though. I also get attached to my old cars my wife goes mad when I get a newer one I keep the old one still for work or going to the tip so keep dreamy going the old one's are the best 👍👌
My wife is originally from Khon Kaen (Chum Phae), but I’m yet to visit properly other than flying into the airport. We plan to get back over from the UK for a visit next year 🤞🏼 and after seeing your video, I can’t wait!
It’s a nice place. You be able to pick up the issan dialects. It’s a little different from central Thai dialects but in time you will learn to distinguish their up and down tones …Most northeastern people can speak central Thai as well …
The name of the dam is written 'Ubol ratana' but pronounced 'Ubon ratana' and is the name of her majesty, Princess Ubol Ratana , the eldest child of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit.
If you have the old part that the guy replaced you can take it to a machine shop and they can reverse engineer it (take measurements) then machine you a replacement part. If you don't have the part a machine shop can still do a new part for you by taking measurements off your bike. As a mechanical Engineer that is how I would do it.
Hi Paddy. No I am in Phuket for the first time. Yesterday I rented a motorcykle and went to Big Budda. All the way I tought about «old Honda dream». Love your movies. You inspireres me. Now I am here. My God!! What a country.
Don't worry too much about the leak. Just keep a bottle of 4t oil with you all time top up when necessary and check the oil level every morning before you ride off. Cheers.😁
This is a wonderful place, Wow, I saw Kenya coffee in a coffee shop. I come from Kenya so I'm so proud. Love Thailand content. My destination this year.
The song at the end is amazing! Any chance you can share the artist/song name. Shazam can't identify it. Keep up the great content, loving this channel
Thanks for the great video, I love Khon Kaen! But please remember: a "L" at the end of a syllable is pronounced as an "N", so it would be "Ubon Ratana Dam". Same like for example in Chonburi, Satun or Ubon Ratchathani.
You can do if y can get around yourself then its a ok place to stay. Without car or bike, i think it can be little difficult, i walking around in kk but not everybody like to do that.
Paddy so nice to see you begin to like isan, don't stay to long bc then it crawls under your skind and y never get it out again. I think kk is a nice place to stay its Capital in isan it have everything some good places to shop and eat, good place for massage, example near the high tower temple i wrote about, they have some good hospitals, a nice lake, and parks where its possible to exercise, kk have it all but i think i more like to stay little outside for example ban Kok, there was i think and irish man who rent out rooms out there, it was a nice little place, dos not knows if he stil is out there, and as y say they have the airport, so its easy to go quickly to example bkk or chiang Mai or wherever we want. Only sometimes at evening time it can be difficult to get a taxi out there, very near the airport there is a nice restaurant where people can eat true isanfood.
