I was able to remove mine without destroying it. 1. Measure diameter of filter (75mm for my Mondeo 2. Buy appropriate sized heavy duty exhaust clamp (74-79mm for Mondeo) 3. Place something round filter so clamp can grip. I made a rubber band from bike inner tube. 4. Place clamp over band and filter and tighten. 5. When you think tight enough hit the clamp nut with large screw driver using hammer. 6. After you have loosened it re-tighten to correct torque.
having the same problem on my and wondering why the f*ck is it made of plastic if it has to be so tight. They could've made it a smaller bolt and metal.
Thanks for sharing us this method. Breaking the cap into pieces was actually the only option that worked for me 😀😀😀
Did u actually broke into pieces and u were not able to twist with the hole?
Ouch! ..but hey, it worked! that's the main thing haha.. #BMWLifeStyle
I cant loosen it even after breaking the top, what did you do after 2:10

Going to have to do this on my Jeep
So were able to twist it with the holes or you broke into pieces, mine already half broken and so far spent about £30.00 still no sign of even shake..

its BMW for you! Newer BMW are even worse.
Before instaling a filter you ned to lube threads inside filter housing also threads of filter cup.
Ain't that a bitch. Good work around though.
Cavey's Adventures tell me about it. I don’t get why garages makes it so tight for. 😕
Having the same problem😑
U got to. Do what u got to do. Mine is stuck I broke two oil remover tools on it already
Horrible plastic oil filter cover !!!
man this is so tough, mines still seized even after chiseling off why i could
These BMW plastics are joke!! Then how did u manage to get the filter off??
Nice video... But how you removed the threaded part that was inside?
I used screw and hammer to break the oil filter free from the housing. Then used tissues to clean the remaining debris. Hope this helps.
What did you do at 2:09 I am stuck at this part
Just got done with this, it was an oil change from hell but thanks for the video it helped a lot
Blaine Gabbert i drilled the filter housing. :/. Haha no problem. Happy to help! :)
