Ah that looks like so much fun, Frosty! I hope you have many more fun adventures with your new skis! You had a lovely glow on, I can just imagine all the wonderful endorphins you got going!✨
We’ve just come out of a deep freeze. Not much snow in the ground as the torrential rain a few weeks ago claimed most of it. More snow coming soon! Yay! ❄️
😁Thanks Kev!! One of several face-plants but the only one where the camera was rolling😆. All good - nothing bent or twisted which is more of a worry as we age. Had a blast and will use them in anger very shortly. Thanks for watching!!!
I've been thinking about getting a pair of these! I love snowshoeing and will embark on long treks with the dog but I'm thinking those things might work good on the North Sask river. Good on you for finding a good used pair! I'm amazed at how much you drive to go for your excursions...gas is so expensive. I'm 5 mins down into the North Sask valley and do most of my excursions down there. Next year the purse strings should loosen up a bit and therefore expand our repertoire of opportunities. Enjoying the videos!
The 'Hoks' are great in the deeper snow and breaking trail for sure - not good on packed or icy trails. They'd be wonderful for exploring the river, on snowed-over frozen lakes etc. Yes, too much driving!! But I have no rent to pay living in my van😀 - that's what it's all about! The spare money goes on finding and living an interesting life. Edmonton depresses the hell out of me (terrible childhood there and rotten memories). No offence to those who love it - but if I didn't get away often, I could never spend the time I need to there to help my folks.
I remember trying this or something similar in Austria when I was young, good fun once you get the hang of it , I think they called it langlaufen or something. Stay safe x
Wow - good memory! The Austrians make good use of their abundant snow. Yes - not nearly as adrenaline-inducing as alpine skiing, but such good exercise, and totally budget-friendly! Nice to hear from you Maggie - thanks for watching!!
Hope you all had a FAB holiday season!! Now to face gloomy January with a bit of creative positivity...
Thank you for joining me.
I guessed snowshoes! 😅 I was *almost* right. They look like great fun. Another lovely vid, J! ❤❤❤
