Thank you for joining in on another FROSTY episode! In this one, I'm struggling with my role as the eldest, newly returned-to-the-fold BLACK SHEEP child of elderly parents; what is my job? How can I help them without taking over? Are you supporting elderly family members? What's your advice for me?? You can cheer me up by liking, and subscribing to my channel - it's the only way to get offered the BIG RUclips pants and make more videos!
This was so great! The joy of your time by the river, little oasis of time and beauty in oil country. I’m sorry your dad’s is in such an unsavoury vibing place…I get it. It just brings your spirit right down and makes you want to get the bejeezus out of there, like a fish out of water. I hope you settled into a bit of hibernation at the pet sit with your little furry chargeling. Happy New Year! Looking forward to sharing your adventures ahead!✨
Glad your dad was ok, family commitments always come first. I have an inner nomad that I’ve tried to contain for most of my life (she’s escaped a couple of times 😂) but I’m 50 next year and I think it’s about time I let her run free and take me with her 😊 sadly age has brought anxiety so have to battle past that as well but watching people like you being brave and getting out there has helped enormously so thank you for sharing 👍🏻
Thank you so much @Maggiethe caddy1. Yes, the key principal with minivan life in Canada is to stay adventurous and enjoy life, but have the flexibility to be close to hand when needed. I felt too far away when I was living in the UK. For certain, anxiety can be crippling - well-done for being so brave and building out that extraordinary little van!!! I used to belong to the Small Motorhome Forum (any small camping vehicle welcome) in the UK. Kind and varied bunch - used to have regular meet-ups at Camping and Caravan Club Sites and the like. You may want to check them out!! All the best to you - soldier on!!
New subscriber enjoying your videos! I'm about 4 hours east and a bit south of Edmonton if you're ever headed this way. I, too, have a van and a dog and a love for the outdoors. I also have independent, ageing parents haha. Look forward to the next video.
Nice to meet you Lori! I have a feeling there's millions like us out there😆. Balancing modern lives with old-fashioned values! I'll definitely see if you're around if I come down that way. And thank you very much for subbing - I'll try to be worthy!
J! How did I miss this one?! Sorry I'm late. Glad your dad was okay. Hard being somewhere that isn't "home" isn't it? I know exactly what you mean about wanting to be in your own space, on the road. Or on the canal! I didn't know you had a narrowboat! You must tell us more about that. :) Love from our gang, currently in the beautiful Tarragona region. Xx
Haha! Thanks Vicky!! Yes, shouldn't really whine about the Alberta prairies - it's a good place for more 'conventional' folks. Lots of good hard-working family people here. That said, give me a pied-a-terre in Sicily and another small campervan for the rest of the time, and for me...that is HOME! Will do a narrowboat vid in the future for sure - I miss it, but it was definitely SLOW-living😆. Good during Covid when I needed a refuge for old Murph and me...XX

Multiple thank-yous! Love me some olde worlde Jazz - and it's a classy ironic contrast to the living in a car thing😆! Thanks for subbing - see you soon!!
