And what this latter percentage constitutes is the number of cases when the man somehow manages to persuade the woman against her original purpose. I will say it once again….
    A pro-abortion person once told me, “Forced pregnancy is a crime against humanity”.
    Uh, forced pregnancy?? How about Forced DEATH is a crime against humanity.
    First, no one is FOR forcing women to get pregnant (FORCED IMPREGNATION is a crime).
    Second, calling “not killing your unborn child”….”forced pregnancy” is like calling “not killing your toddler”….”forced parenting”. This is what we call MANIPULATIVE language.
    Instead of saying, “FORCED PREGNANCY”, how about, “FORCED DEATH” instead? Abortion is forced death, since it forcibly kills an unborn human.
    In other words: Abortion = Forced Death.
    This is the real crime against humanity!
    We need to stop making the exceptions, the rule. I understand that there are life and death situations and extenuating circumstances, but those are exceptions to the law. Abortion should never have been labeled as a form of "birth control", as defined by contraception.

      @bonniesgarden7869 7 месяцев назад +10

      Agree with everything you said except for the last part - abortions are never necessary to save the life of the mother. Late term abortions take at least a day or two of prepping, whereas an emergency C-section can be done in less than an hour. The treatment for life-threatening pregnancy is ALWAYS delivery. There should never, ever, ever be an exception that involves killing a baby.

    • @arctain1
      @arctain1 7 месяцев назад

      That was extremely well said, and goes to the tactic used by the pro-death cult in supporting abortion. They will go to great lengths to change language in support of their cult. Excellent on you for seeing through the tactic!
      Not everyone will - this woman, and others, try to use the argument that many aren’t ready to be parents. This is what they call ‘forced parenting’, and while she didn’t literally say it, her argument was that no one should make people be parents when they aren’t ready for it… that’s her way of arguing ‘forced parenting’. If she had the verbiage, she would support it and use it.
      As you said, what we are attempting to abolish is the act of killing children - equal protection under the law for all human beings, from the moment that the child is conceived as a unique human. That child should be protected from all threats, including the threat of being killed by the child’s parents.

      Exactly. The point is basically "humans are valuable because we are humans, that's all. No extra attributes needed". You can try to bring up the arguments about morality and relativity in order to bring religion into it, however, whether one accepts the religious aspect of it is much more unlikely than understanding the premise that humans are valuable for being human.

      @bc4351 You don't need to give me this talk, I agree value and morality can only objectively come from God, otherwise it's all relative.
      However, my point is this: If you're debating with an athiest abortion supporting college student, there's A LOT that you're trying to convince them. If you base your entire arguments off of religion all the time immediately, they won't change their mind, it's too drastic of a change for their world view. All I'm saying is to ease them into it. Start off by convincing them that humans are valuable for simply being human, all athiests should easily agree with that. Then later on you can get into "well, WHY are humans valuable? Who determines value?" , and THAT'S how you argue for God. You can make it clear from the beginning that your beliefs stem from religion, but if you try to impose that immediately it's very unlikely to work in my experience. It's like taming a wild horse, you gotta ease them into it. Get them to agree with things that seem to be independent of religion, but then bring it back to how it relies upon faith in a higher power.

      Philosophy calls it the non-aggression principle. You may do as you please in this world until your actions hurt other humans. The truth is, you don't need religion at all in order to conclude that abortion is unacceptable.
      PS: The non-aggression principle comes from Christianity, but atheists still find it to be an acceptable foundation for morality and civilization. End of the day you still needed God, but we can make the case against abortion without bringing religion into it. Meanwhile, there are ZERO good arguments in favor of abortion.

    It's called being responsible, something these people have no concept of, and if they were responsible to begin with, unplanned pregnancy never would have been an issue. Apparently the best way to guarantee fertility is to be a teenager, a drug addict, or a reprobate. They seem to be able to have oodles of unwanted pregnancies. Only married, financially stable couples with so much love they want to share it with a vulnerable tiny life have problems conceiving. In my older age I'm starting to see that everything I thought to be true when I was in my teens and very early 20s was hateful propaganda. I've known my husband since I was twelve. We spent many years apart due to his deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan and we both made choices we wish we could take back...but I met another man (with predatory tendencies..not saying every bad thing that happened within that relationship can be blamed only on him because I had issues that I needed to work on as well to become a better person). In the time we weren't able to communicate I had a son with the wrong person and that person ran when he learned of the pregnancy. I struggled...I suffered just trying to survive and create the best environment I could for my son while being wildly unhappy and absolutely exhausted trying to do the right thing. Now I'm married to my marine and we have a beautiful daughter and he is the very best father figure... going above and beyond not only to our shared daughter but he goes way above and beyond to show my son that isn't his biologically...how a real man treats the people he cares about..DNA be damned. It has brought all of us together in ways I didn't even know to want when I was all alone and rejected. I have a beautiful family and a beautiful life and I couldn't imagine choosing to abort. Even before I reconnected with my marine and believed I would have to work very hard to have nearly nothing...my son was worth it to me. Sorry...I'm very tired and hardly articulate even on my best day. But please know that your panic and uncertainty is temporary. God will always make a way. I'm so beyond happy and content to be the wife of a man with high morals. And just when I thought I couldn't possibly love him more...he asked my son for his blessing in proposing to me. The same night he asked my son to give him the greatest honor of his life by allowing him to adopt my son. Being a good wife and mother...that's the most important job any woman has...it's the only way to improve the morals of generations to come. Just my 2 rambling.. inarticulate cents

    I have some constructive criticism for you though, if you are seeking to persuade rather than facts-and-logic the heck out of people.
    This girl, although wrong, was civil and conciliatory. I feel you could be more persuasive if you adapt your communication style (tone and pace) to match your audience - be a smidge softer on women like this because I think she agreed with more than she thought she would. You set lots of traps to demonstrate the inconsistency of her beliefs but I don’t think that will win hearts and minds. I think saying everything you said, just a little slower and with a warmer tone might have won her to your cause more. Maybe I’m wrong - I say this as a fan of your work and with much admiration!

    9:38 just commenting here as someone on the outside looking in….not feeling pain and not having the capacity to feel pain are two different things. If I am understanding this individual correctly, a fetus at the point she describes doesn’t feel pain because it doesn’t have the capacity to feel pain, whereas the woman in Hayden’s example does have the capacity to feel pain, but in this particular instance she is unable to perceive it. I like this guys passion but I feel that in the pursuit of exact specifics and waiting to pull the “gotcha” card, he may make it difficult for others to understand his perspective. Look to the Bible for understanding:
    Philippians 2:3-4, which says: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
    Additionally:
    Colossians 3:12-13 (NIV) states: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
    These verses emphasize the importance of humility, empathy, patience, and understanding in our interactions with others, encouraging us to prioritize empathy and compassion over our own interests and viewpoints.

      Either an abortion is simply the termination of a pregnancy, in which case there is no killing involved, that is a by product (this is the proper definition that I adopt).
      OR an abortion is the killing of a foetus in which case you either have to own ectopic pregnancies, be hypocritical or accept that there are justifications for killing.

    While it's clearer to establish morality based on Christianity, the non-aggression principle will suffice for all humans. Your right to swing your fist around end when it smacks me in the face. You can do what you want in the world until you hurt another human being. You can extrapolate that into laws against rape, murder, theft, assault, and most of the core laws. Don't hurt other humans. This is probably the best answer to "leave religion out of it." You can choose to tell them that Christianity is where the non aggression principle comes from in the first place. The golden rule. Love thy neighbor as thyself. Countless other passages. But most people who object to religion will agree with the non-aggression principle as a reasonable foundation for law and civilization.

    It also says in the bible
    If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

      I imagine there is a spectrum of things that might fall into the category of section 16-3-107, on one end you've got the obvious stuff that won't be an issue but as you get closer and closer to the other end I imagine it gets very very grey as in was the treatment necessary, would the woman actually die etc and so many doctors may opt to not take certain treatments for fear of prosecution which means statistically there will be women that will die as a result of this section. So sure maybe ectopic pregnancies may be protected (then again I don't know if all ectopic pregnancies are treated the same), but they are entirely correct to believe people will die.
