I’m curious about something… For those who identify as pro-choice and believe that a pregnant woman is not carrying a living human being, do you still celebrate or support your friends or family when they announce they are expecting? Do you honor the life of that baby at baby showers? And do you correct them if they refer to their unborn child as a baby, son, or daughter?
It seems that this stance is often at odds with how people genuinely celebrate life. No matter someone's views on abortion, it's hard to ignore that a developing baby is, in fact, a living human being - a fragile, innocent life deserving of dignity and respect.
So, if you don't genuinely believe in the inherent value and life of the baby before birth, a baby that is growing inside of the mother, please stay at home the next time you're invited to someone else's gender reveal or baby shower if that's truly how you feel, and let those who genuinely cherish the unborn child celebrate this life-changing moment with genuine joy and love.

That's because it's not the father's body that's being heavily affected by the pregnancy. The father doesn't get parental rights until the child is born, so until then, he has no say. Rights are still rights, whether you like them or not. No human being has the right to use another human being's body without their ongoing consent, so why would we grant special rights to fetuses?
