I did 15 years in the RAF 69/84 and this camp is similar in layout to most with the H block barrack blocks. I don't recognise this station but I do the Airman's mess layout as I worked as a Chef in a good number of them ,the upper floor dinning hall area was usually only used when in emergency when required. The Drawplate collins Ovens you showed were an excellent bit of Kit and very reliable. Very Happy Days.
Great explore of a once busy RAF base. I think the RAF Rapier Training Unit sticker gave it away though. I served in the RAF from '83 to '90 at various bases starting at Swinderby for recruit training to finishing at Wattisham. In between these I was at St Athan, Scampton, Brampton, Molesworth and Bruggen. As for layouts many bases follow a similar theme with single and married quarters accommodation and road layout plus Hangars and airfield. I'm not sure but I think the H block type buildings predate the others even though some of the fixtures and fittings look newer. Every building on camp had a tannoy speaker and this was used for all sorts of daily alerts and exercise announcements, (25:40) The main part of the footage looked like the Junior Ranks Mess (Airmans Mess) with entrance to 2 dining rooms divided by what was the servery area with the big extractor hoods. Upstairs was rarely used unless for functions etc. Just to add to your ghost hunting time stamps here are a few I picked up along the way 22:25 orb and voice 22:50 multiple orbs climbing stairs 30:25 to 30:31multiple orbs various muffled voices - can't make the words out In my experience RAF bases are probably the most haunted places you can visit, I don't know why but that's what encountered especially at Scampton(Combat Operations Centre, Med centre, 2 Hangar) and Bruggen(Airfield)
I mean seriously how much effort you folks put into these videos you guys should be at 2 million subscribers. I don't get how RUclips works anymore, they reward shit content and never let the good content rise.
Interesting how many of those Stickers you find in places, I was in an RAF bunker just before the lockdown started and there must have been about 20 on one door.
I know that Gaff very well, Didn't look too much better operational, as a senior REME tech, I was offered a posting there, went for a spin round and never looked back..........no ta. I preferred Kirton !
Think of all the Enlisted Men who spent years cleaning and polishing, waxing and buffing while the Sargent stood over them looking for fault. All to end up like that.
'Tannoy' is a registered trademark. Like 'Hoover' and 'Biro' it is used to cover all P.A. systems. You'd think that Tannoy, Ltd., would be pleased with the free advertising. But no. Several TV shows and films have had their knuckles rapped for using the word without permission. Honestly, you couldn't make it up.
Tannoy is a brand name of a speaker manufacturer so what you are looking at is a loudspeaker the name tannoy is often missed used Sorry to be that guy but it bugs me sad I no
I stayed here in around 1989/90 with the army cadets. Very big place. There used to be a big gym and also a small inside firing range too. The food was really good. I remember being bollocked for walking across the parade ground by real MP's (they guarded the front entrance and if you were in trouble day or night, we had to spend time in the guard house (im sure it was called the glass house?))
Standard accommodation blocks and airmens mess looks like a trenchard expansion airfield mess with rear counter type kitchen block with a deep rear section Coal fired and later oil fireds heating and cooking back stairwell for upstairs functions etc Oil safety valve standard kingsway system in case of fire using a solder thermal link cable system
At 20.14 you have a dumb waiter lift for the transportation of food or laundry usually, to a basement or upper levels, often used in situations where there may have been too many stairs to carry food around, keeping kitchen staff and food seperate from diners, i noticed the kitchen vents above the walls at ceiling level i'm thinking maybe officers mess upstairs perhaps, good video by the way
I know where this is guys it’s just down the road from me I’ve been there and done some exploring myself it’s a shame you missed out the massive tunnel hopefully you will go back there and try not get caught because after I left security started going around there it’s on a housing estate RAF base but I’m not giving the name away lol
the stairs to no where , where for the hanging blocks, prisoners would walk up the stairs, then they kick the board away, and they would be left hanging.
Definately heard the sound at 10.51, Sounds like "Excuse me". The other sound was like a young female child's voice, can't make it out though, very strange indeed. Great vid though.
2907 I definitely heard something , like a muffled child or females voice , dunno. This place reminds me of some of the schools I went to as a young grade school boy in the 80s , extremely old multi story schools , grantville republic I believe was the name of it I , in Ga. , very similar construction and interior
Hi Crew, I wonder if the sheep are an alarm and they have the right to baaaaah arms 😂😂, I actually think were shouting thereeehhh 😂. Wow you guys got lucky as you saw a pair of knockers and a pussy in the same location, now that's some golden gems. Actually it was a very cool site, the boiler house was very cool with all of the dials etc still intact which is a rarity. I thought you did really well with the hurdles as you were running Ian, I was most impressed. Thank you for sharing this awesome location with us and I don't blame you guys at all for not climbing that ladder, that was definitely sketchy. xx💖
I love ur channel ive learnt so much thankyou dont ever stop doing it as it teaches people stuff ❤

Really interesting buildings. Such a shame it has been left to fall apart. Great video 😎
Cheesus folks indeed. Another good explore guy's, what a shame that place couldn't be re-purposed before it got into that state.
Very sad to see a place that so many fought and died from left to rot in such a disrespectful way.
Interesting how many of those Stickers you find in places, I was in an RAF bunker just before the lockdown started and there must have been about 20 on one door.

12:30 is what I would call a Tannoy. They would use them for station broadcasts/alarms.

Standard accommodation blocks and airmens mess looks like a trenchard expansion airfield
mess with rear counter type kitchen block with a deep rear section
Coal fired and later oil fireds heating and cooking back stairwell for upstairs functions etc
Oil safety valve standard kingsway system in case of fire using a solder thermal link cable system

Hey folks! 😊
@ 32.04 did you scare yourself there Ian? LOL!
RAPIER training unit would have been being taught Surface to Air Missile stuff there.
Sgame to see it looking like that.
Been a fanboy since Ian had hair.
It's true 😂
Was that a crematorium oven at 19:00? It looks very large and creepy
yeah it is where the SWO hides his victims..
Great video as usual!! Reminds me of 2 bases near to where I live .. R.A.F waterbeach of R.A.F upwood .. keep them coming Ian ✌️👍☯️☮️
RAF Upwood had a USAF Contingency hospital in hangars and some other nearby buildings. All now gone.
the stairs to no where , where for the hanging blocks, prisoners would walk up the stairs, then they kick the board away, and they would be left hanging.
if walls were able to talk just think of the storys that place has to tell
its a shame that a few mindless yobbos spoil it for the genuine urban explorers
the stairs to nowhere appear to have a bricked up doorway top left
looks alot like RAF UPWOOD Near Ramsey ,Same layout and buildingn types but upwood was in a worse state than this place.
Definately heard the sound at 10.51, Sounds like "Excuse me". The other sound was like a young female child's voice, can't make it out though, very strange indeed. Great vid though.
It’s strange we dont go out for this stuff but editing back it’s like wtf is that lol
Who heard the little girls voice when they where stood on the stairs between 29.08 29.09 minutes
Why dident they turn the bases to cheap housing
I'm a new Subscriber so please be nice at my stupidity, but what exactly does IKS stand for?.
My initials folk
At time 29.07 sound like a female voice in background when u guys were talking.
Yeah I will second that 👻
Also the first clip as well which sounded like a door banging ?
🙂🍻👍🏻
i heard it too definately femaleat 29.07 ,i thought the first was a grunt ,thought the door was ian and it closing behind him??
I heard the evps the one at 29:07 sounds like a child
👍
2907 I definitely heard something , like a muffled child or females voice , dunno.
This place reminds me of some of the schools I went to as a young grade school boy in the 80s , extremely old multi story schools , grantville republic I believe was the name of it I , in Ga. , very similar construction and interior
Is it just me or did anyone else notice the strange orb of light at 22.30 minutes?
Clearly updated and used post war
Indeed it was

Great explore guys, still don’t get why you’re so paranoid and creep about. I doubt they check every building or even care if anyone is there.
