Frederick Worby was 34 when he died trying to stop a war. The place is being rescued by a specialist that saves old churches and chapels. So much history here, it shouldn't disappear under housing. Lucky you documented it for us to see before the project manager moves onto the site.
I'm not religious but all historic buildings should be cared for as our mark on the world for the future too much throw away culture it costs us our skills
It's amazing the engineering to go into buildings like this around the dates they are built, 13 hundreds.. I mean what tools did they even have, also the man power and time
WOW, awesome video and what a magnificent church, those stairs look creepy, phew that was a quick and nail biting experience seeing you walk down them so quickly 😨. Could imagine the history this place has seen, if only those walls could talk.
Ian Excellent Church find really Old IKS on the Job this Time I learned How to do Stain Glass replacement and worked on repairing the glass after vandalizing for several Churches and Bars!!! Definitely a Golden Gem Now time to put down some Brew's!!!; )
So much History! How worn the steps where on the stairs! It looks like maybe parts where restored back in 1889 including the tower, with the walls made of stones and mortar. Its strange the inside is not more ornate! Maybe it was a ruin until 1889 with only the walls intact and all insides gone. Just a theory! Your explores always get the mind going! Thanks!
Great video guys really glad you put it back up. look at the history of the surrounding area ille guarantee that the village/farms were probably abandoned due to plague or a bankrupt landowner. Thus making the church obsolete. Glad to see its being renovated though. Lets hope its for the public and not going to be a private house.
Love the architecture, would like to see it restored. They don't make em like that nowadays, and done a very long time ago. I wonder what the history is on it...
This was enjoyable. It’s nice it hasn’t been trashed. One of the graffiti markings looks like a Royal Signals crest. I watched this with headphones on and Steve’s dog barking made me jump 😂
@@IKS-Exploration I was wondering if that was the reason! At first I thought my internet connection was bad. Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed this one. Love old buildings that aren't completely ruined.
great explore guys do you worry that you are going to run out of places to explore I know you travel far and wide to shoot new videos for us please keep up the great work ps. does the little dog have his own channel and does he belong to no 1 fan? best regards paul.
Wow a very cool explore, don't churches have to be abandoned for so many years before it becomes unconsecrated ground so people can demolish it and build something else ??. I think it would be a big shame if a building of that age was demolished though, think of all the history and world events it's witnessed, Thanks for sharing. x
Bats in the Belfree really cool and spooky too graffiti was neat glassworks, stonework and the hand hewn beans and pews true artisan throughout the history just everywhere WOW FOLKS needs to be refurbished and protected TRUE GOLDEN GEMS FOLKS 👌👌👌
If that church dates from the 14th century, then the number of bodies buried around it could be immense. Say they were burying about 250 people a year, on average - there would be about 175,000 under your feet by now. Some churches look like they are sinking - that's because of the numbers of burials raising the surface of the churchyard. The graffiti in the tower, I would put money on as being done by generations of bellringers.
Brave pill taken for those stairs. Did a castle last that young kids were going up and down and I nearly froze on the steps and that was on safe looked after national trust for Scotland site, not an abandoned god knows what the wood and stone supports.
Add note. Villages have disappeared. Due to the black death. Wiped out... Kent has the highest total . Also doner churches provided by rich land owners . That did not serve community's. Alarming to think pandemics effects on history.
What a shame a lovely little chapel going to waste

Were there SS men in the church who were entrenched there or why are there the flashes of lightning that are perpetuating? Thank you for your reply my good one Nice Video I only found you where you still had 58K and since then I stop by every now and then, especially I liked the submarine! Amazing to think that church has been there 600 years!

Wow this is the urbex I like. This must have been a beautiful church back in the day. Looks like they may be restoring it.
That’s a nice one guys! Especially the winding medieval staircase! Thanks for sharing!

What would be really cool if you guys found a secret passageway to the Ark of the Covenant
The writing on the tower door is in the style of ,18 century. Also no village still exists. What hamlet or congregation would have used it.
Wicked ideal for a ghost night definitely I love spooky nights 😎
Should dig up some of the graves, probably some jewelry and swords if this goes back to 1300s or 1100s.
Love the architecture, would like to see it restored. They don't make em like that nowadays, and done a very long time ago. I wonder what the history is on it...

Ahh she hasn't made it mainstream yet but she is the IKS mascot
I like how your mate just respectfully pulls the sheet protectively over the pew, without pause.
Royal signals corp badge on the Warren boys graffiti.
The Warren refers to the Crowborough Army Training Camp.
How old we’re the graves ??
Magnificent old church, survived WW2.
thank you IKS good work ........jy
Lovely church, but funny, I think this is the first time I have heard you Ian sound so scared, obviously you do not like heights. Lol.
im glad its not be vanderlised
I'd live in that.

It's Grade II listed.
Wen I find mega old churches the first place I go is the graveyards ,it gives idea of how old the church is n was last used for a funeral
Re roofed very recently.
Evening folk
Hello folks
There is a service held there every year.
Yes there is once a year residents can come to visit the graves and there is a valid reason for not visiting the roof
looks like the church used for the British horror film Borderlands - really creepy film btw
Glad we still get to.see this was bummed when I got up and it was down but still got the hoe nuts to watch hope all good Ian and Chris 👊😎👍
I wonder whether there are any known ghosts in and around there?
And the door happens to be left unlocked....!

Nice one lads, would love to see the roof but that floor looked dodgy...ATB Chris.
So sad to see abandoned churches and graveyards.
Where is the tombe?

I was so hoping you'd go up the ladder to the roof where we can see heaven much better. Supreme it would have been. 9:18
I could see that floor falling that's all I was thinking lol
I might or might not need a personal Jesus, if i ever find this place. some one to hear my prayers...some one who`s there
