    Hi Heather, WOW! That looks yummy, now I want some sweets. LOLI just wanted to mention about the problem you had with the liquid Fimo. The thing is that Fimo has a thinner consistency that TLS that's why it tends to run. Here's a suggestion for the people that can only get or have Fimo liquid. Try mixing a little bit of clay into the Fimo liquid just to thicken it up a little bit. You only need to add enough for the two colors not to run into one another. Try testing it on a piece of paper before to put it on the item you made. Or if you already have frosting made you can thin it out a little bit and use it. It's all a matter of consistency. Hope this helps, take care, Dee

      Hey Dee,
      I think you mentioned being a cosmetologist before. I had an idea, but didn't know if it would work. I was wondering if the gel is thick enough to put air bubbles in on purpose with a syringe, kind of like a carbonated drink. I took a syringe to the nail place but my nail guy about jumped out of his seat when he saw it, so we didn't try it.

    I made these today in dollhouse size; thanks so much! I used white chalk pastel to whiten my "icing" and it didn't come out white enough; I'll have to look for some powdered food coloring next time I go out.

    Hi Heather, you must have scared that poor guy with that syringe. LOL I have a way I make bubbles on my sculptures. I get these Glass Bubble Micro Beads that are clear and have no holes. They come in different sizes and I buy them on EBay from a store called Morezmore and I think a little bag with three different sizes in it sells for about $5. I mix them with a little liquid clay and bake them and they look just like bubbles. They also come in iridescent which is also a cool effect. You might want to give them a try. Hope this is helpful, take care, Dee

    • @heathernwells
      @heathernwells  10 лет назад

      Will the glass be okay on hard gels? I am worried about when they have to use the drill to remove the gels.
      I love the way air bubbles look is lampwork glass beads. I was hoping there was a way to make it look like a carbonated drink for the mojitos the last time around.
      I need to think about what to do after the ice cream nails

    This is awesome Heather =D I've seen it and started making it right away!! but realized too late I dont have TLS here.. so.. my milfeuilles are have done.. still figuring out how I can do it without the fimo ge as well.. 3d paint after baking maybe!? :) xoxo

    • @heathernwells
      @heathernwells  10 лет назад

      I do think some paints would work. I would test it out on scratch paper just to make sure.
      I will have to buy more TLS soon. I am almost out. When I buy it I will probably film opening it and showing the price I paid.

    Love this! Been watching a heap of your tutorials. This with a tea would be a great combo.
    EDIT: Also, any one reading; in regards to jayd dow's comment about Premo being Fimo in Australia, this is incorrect. Both are types of polymer clay but they are made by two different companies and the colours/textures are not identical.
    Premo is a lot harder to get down here. It can be found in very few stores... Mostly only specialty modeling/polymer stores from what I have seen (eg polymerclay.com.au); Fimo or Sculpey III on the other hand can be relatively easily found in craft stores like Riot, Lindcraft and Spotlight.

    Hi, Heather!
    I was just wondering if there is a difference in using powdered food coloring (if that is what you called it?) and chalk/soft pastels?
    I love your tutorials BTW :)

    • @heathernwells

      Many times it won't make a difference. The pastels will have to be stirred longer to fully dissolve the pastel.

      I am still pretty amateur at filming.
      My computer has a lot of issues, and I am not editing the videos now. Once I am able to afford a new computer I will get editing software, and start playing around with speed, voice overs, and perhaps music.
      I definitely don't want to be the exact same as everyone else though. I would like to find a great in between, where my videos aren't boring, perhaps a bit shorter, and still keep my individuality intact.
      once I get software I will ask for suggestions, and start playing with things.
