For our little 1979 Mustang coupe getting a rad 2015 EcoBoost 2.3L
Looking good Mike, old girl is definitely coming together. Don't paint the engine bay maroon my man. You already said it would look weird, lol. The intro is hilarious! 👈💯
Apprecaite it! lol No maroon huh? ;) Dont worry I wont. Glad you caught that though in the vid, and appreciate you digging the cheese intro.
I'm lucky number 7 on the thumbs up. Oh yeah!!
Lol bonus for the CAD (cardboard aided drafting) metal work.
Awesome 👍.
😁 Use what ya got to get it to work
Those bolts and nuts should be available at your local Ford dealer
I would love to have a Foxbody with this engine swap! Do you want to trade?
So I am loving your build here, I am working on a 93 that I am going to do the same thing with, but I want to go 6r80. Just need to figure out how to control the transmission!
Thank you! I cant wait to get going on it...So I too initially wanted a 6R80 auto, and may go back one day to one. But, I didnt because I didnt want to wire and pay for a separate controller. I really wish fords kit cold control it. My engine harness is for an auto so I have the cabling. I found a guy on ebay selling a working harness WITH 6R80 control, that if I found before buying the ford control pack I would have used his kit. www.ebay.com/itm/144024228594?hash=item21888352f2:g:bw8AAOSwYDZgjA6M
Why not use a 5 spd trans hump from 94-04 5 spd? Your going to have to raise the tranny for the correct pinion angle? 2cents LOL
I dont think I'll need any hump. Its up enough, should be lol its just if I ever change shifters In dropping the crossmemeber to get to the bolts.
Who tf let this dude out the psych ward cause he out here committing war crimes destroying these poor cars with these builds 😂
lol Destroying?? Harsh
Good see a new video
I love your videos but I have to admit I laugh every time I hear you try to pronounce "esslinger".lol. I want to put an EcoBoost 2.3 with the 10-speed Auto in a first gen Mazda Miata.
Do you think putting a 2.3 in a new edge mustang easier than Putting it in a foxbody
FINALLY
I so badly want to take the 3.5 out of my 2019 and stick it on my 90 coupe..how hard of a swap would that be..parts wise?.. control pack?.. etc
Man its ALL domumented here lol but yes, K-member from AJE, and control pack...figure out transmission and have fun---EDIT: Just realized you said "3".5 not 2.5. Man...thats a different animal. They are wide, BUT its been done. I honestly know very little about it, but it would be cool as hell.
Hey speedway has mustang 2 rack and pinion spacer that will work and then you have to extend the steering shaft with an adapter and works perfect. I did it in a sn95 with 2.3 ecoboost
Hey! So not videod yet but AJE supplied a drop bracket that pushed it down a little too far, but I ended up using 1” thick sleeves and offset bushings that set it up perfectly. AJE is also sending me a steering shaft for my sn95 rack.
Also man, interested in this build! Any info of pics on it?
@@HOUSEOFDULA I’m about as far as you right now and looking to do a top mount turbo but not sure if I have room. I haven’t put any pics out but be glad to send you some 96 sn95 2.3 ecoboost 6r80 trans with lokar electronic shifter with power brakes and power steering using a Volvo electric steering pump it was an idea of my dad and I but unfortunately he passed so it’s kinda tribute car to him love the channel can’t wait to see more 🤙🏼
I should have waited to crush love button. I was #301.😂
hi there, Just watched your vid, nice job, anyway I am currently working on a 64 Falcon with a Gen II Coyote 5.0 for myself. I have a job coming up for my son that entails putting the 2015 2.3 ecoboost in a 86 SVO 2.3 Turbo. I have a few questions and would really like to talk to you. I live just north of Denton, noticed your in Texas but not sure where. I am an old guy and don't like email just talk on the phone mostly, any way we can talk?
Gary, Id love to chat. I dont want to give my personal number out over the internet here on RUclips, but send me an email at prisonplanet88@gmail.com and I can share my number so we can chat.
good decision on avoiding hydroboost. its not worth the hassle at all.
Did anyone else tweak when he leaned the broom against the blue car? lol
Aw man you mean leaned it on the rusted fender? Lol looks better on camera, i promise it didn’t scratch my blue car though
Looks amazing, definitely been missing content. Keep up the great work!
Love it bro! Love the Intro too!
lol Thanks man!
Can you link me to the coolant tank you're using from the 2011 mustang? I might need one for my 3.7 New Edge Swap.
Its this on, in black, www.cjponyparts.com/canton-racing-products-radiator-overflow-tank-black-aluminum-2011-2014/p/ROFT23B/?year=2011&gclid=CjwKCAjw14uVBhBEEiwAaufYxzXRg4QdDyknbRqDjJ-6dYMvVNbHalIqsT_HtQps_mbGkV93dKUejhoCJPIQAvD_BwE Canton Racing Products: 80-246SBLK
I like the editing
Fan of the Cheese sitcom huh? Might need to do this more often
Mr. Dula great video. I am building a 85 coupe on my channel( Bonezshakergarage ) and I’ve been watching you since the 86 build. I plan to do a side wiper motor mod you did on the 79. Keep up the great work.
Right on man! I just subbed to yours as well. Appreciate it, need to go check out your build now
@@HOUSEOFDULA thanks for the sub. I am just starting the build and I have a long way to go.
Love the comedy talk show format! Great update!
Definitely love how much in detail you do on your videos. I have a 86 hatch and my boy just got a 84 t top hatch that is in rough shape. If it wasn’t a t top I’d probably scrap it.
Appreciate hearing this...I know Im absent a lot, but Im still kicking! and trying to get more content out.
These engines do very well with the stock airbox. I'd 100% keep it. They have been proven time and time again. I ended up keeping my stock airbox on the 2019 mustang and just swapping out the factory intake tube for the airaid one. I did quite a bit of research and everything performance wise pointed to keeping the factory airbox in place. Nice update, love the channel. Can't wait to see this one progress.
Thanks sir! Good to hear the stock is adequate. Ford engineers are pretty smart, I'd like to thing intake inlet restrictions are becoming a thing of the past.
Man, it’s looking right at home in that engine bay.
Also… the intro was 🔥
lol appreciate it
Another great video can't wait to see it driving..
Twin Turbo kit ?? Once it’s finished 😅?
Once running, yes the performance mods / tunes etc, will happen.
Are u the first to throw in eco on a foxbody ? Awesome job by the way. cant wait for more content
No, there is an orange coupe that is / was the first. Im sure there are others I could be 2nd or 3rd?? lol idk.
You couldn’t have just left the 4 speed pedals in there? I’m asking because I have the 4 speed srod in my 80 and am thinking of doing a t5 swap, so do I need to get t5 pedals too?
Nope. I have a whole video on this and why, ruclips.net/video/Hw-4tFAukso/видео.html
@@HOUSEOFDULA thank you
I'm restoring a 79 fox body, and really like your engine choice, I think I will use the same engine in mine.
Thank you for the good quality videos, they are a good reference for someone who wants to do the same thing.
Thanks again.
Sweet man! Your welcome and good luck on the project.
@@HOUSEOFDULA would I be able to get some info ,and advice on how you did your engine, and transmission?
Looking great! I put an ecoboost in my 1991 Toyota MR2. Used a 2.0 with the 2.3 controls pack. It’s a great engine, a complete blast to drive!
Cool build!
You have any videos on it ?
Digging the new intro haha. Looks good dude this is going to be another sick build brother
Thanks Tony!
That looks nice great job with it.
Dula I love everything you do on your channel.
lol Apprecaite that man.
@@HOUSEOFDULA your workmanship is outstanding also!
It’s underrated IMO. I have the 2.3 and it’s surprising how much power it can make on tune. I get it doesn’t sound like a muscle car but it’s still impressive especially to swap in other cars.
Agree, 2.3l of very impressive numbers. Will make such a neat fox.
More Torque & HP than the 5.0 of the day, hell, my '90 5.0 was only 225 HP & 300ish Torque. I can imagine the EcoBoost is going to be a stout performer in that lightweight Fox Platform. I'd be happy with it for sure 😁 (especially since it can be tuned, and the lighter nose...win-win 😁 )
I think if someone was use a t56 or even a tko it would have been probably centered with the shifter hole. I wonder if thats in a different spot than a factory t5 mustang
TKO is identical shifter location wise. My TKO600 swap in my blue car didnt move the shifter location a bit. Now the T56 I think might...As most pointed out as well, the SN95 trans also moves it back a little...but I used what I had ;)
@@HOUSEOFDULA yeah those sn95 setups have been hard to find for me lol. Im looking at doing this swap on a turbocoupe thunderbird
Can this swap be done with automatic transmission and if so which 1??
Oh yeah it can. Computer controlled, 6R80, or 10R80 (with standalone trans controller) will bolt right on. Or with the esslinger adapter plate kit, you can run any SBF auto. C4,C6, AOD....etc
@@HOUSEOFDULA thanks a million man 🙌🏿. Would i have to change my k member??
Haha....i like the new intro, needs junior in it😂👍
I know, I need to expand that haha, he cracked up when I showed him. Im sure I can get a few of my buddies to play along in it.
Would the ecoboost mounts work for a duratec?
From what Ive heard yes. Same block layout, webbing is a bit thicker on the EcoBoost but essentially the same motor. I cannot confirm this though, call up AJE who made my K-member and motor mounts to confirm before ordering.
I'll see can I get you the Alternator bolts sizes, also the manual rack does hit the oil pan as well, I used longer bolts with extra washer to clear the pan.
Man, dondo, that would be awesome. AND GREAT to know about the rack. I keep forgetting you used AJE as well with your build. Mine will need to be dropped a hair, I tried to push out with spacers. Rumor has it Esslinger is making a new low profile pan as well.
@@HOUSEOFDULA that's good to know about esslinger. I should have the bolt sizes for you by Saturday. I'm working 12hr nights the next 4 days. 1st day off I'll have those sizes.
@@dondo84svo I appreciate it. Feel free to hit up my email, since Im more likely to miss this. prisonplanet88@gmail.com Also, Esslinger called me regarding the issues with the adapter plate and looking to make it right, and they changed the measurements up as well.
Can you use your stock k member or do u need to change it??
I think it be awefully hard with a stock K! I have a whole video on swapping in AJE's K-member. AJE offers motor mounts with their modular K-member for the EcoBoost
@@HOUSEOFDULA ok cool thanks
What if you ran a automatic the 10r80
That would be sweet! its just a little pricy with the controller to control the 10 speed.
Still waiting on an update video🫤
Man there has been a handful since this was last posted bud!
I mean don’t get me wrong I know that no engine swap is “a walk in the park” but this doesn’t seem to be very difficult as far as swaps go. Wouldn’t be surprised if the 2.3 becomes quite a popular choice for the fox! I also love how it pays homage to the SVO
Yessir! I agree there are MUCH more difficult swaps. This one has been a lot of fun. And satisfies the guys who want something just different....which I did, and for this car being 2.3 in its blood, thought it was a cool homage as well!
What’s the date for fox fest this year?
June 12th, Xtreme Raceway park
cool new intro Mike!
CHEEESE! lol The cool thing about having your own RUclips channel is you can do what ever you want lol Just had the urge to change it up cheesy sitcom style lol
@@HOUSEOFDULA It's still cool nice to change it up now and again anyways! off topic but have you heard from Justin 91Lx? How's he doing?
@@vrm86gt Man far as I know still making videos here and there. Sadly we dont keep up as often as Id like. He posts often on the NTFC club too and what not.
@@HOUSEOFDULA Yeah, I know he was moving and working out of a storage space, just curious! Both yours and Justins videos helped me alot when I first started building my fox!
Awesome work 👍🏾
Loving man!
I love the factory look of the engine.
Thanks bud, I 100% agree
Good job Mr. Duka the videos have come a long way love the new intro and the new theme!! Hit me up if you do intros? Keep up the good content!!
I wouldnt say "I do intros" I dabble, and this one was purely for fun, but might have to keep it ;) All this is bakes in, to the software I use Filmora, and they make it somewhat easy. You need an intro made?
Missed ya!!! Great work as usual.
Thanks Tad!
Looks great Mike keep up the good work!
Appreciate it bud
Awesome build man. If i was to do anything different i probably would have done the 3.5 eco but im one of those go big or go home type of guys lol either way i cant wait to see this thing done its gonna be epic!
That motor is heavy and wide! Anything could be done but thats a different animal, its wide low down too where turbos are. Again can be done! But im diggin keeping the 2.3 vibe and 300 plus in a tiny light package
As always, fantastic work! This thing is going to be such a fun car
Thanks man! New video coming out soon. Finally got my radiator in
Awesome car and enjoying the videos. Will you be running a sway bar with the A/C compressor?
Man we'll see...Ive been thinking about that and just dont know yet, but will be close.
Doing the same swap using an AJE k member and have a steeda sway bar that hits the ac compressor just barely. Yours might work out different since I’ve tubes the front end and added the sway bar mount to the tube frame rail. Excited to see which way you go.
I thought 79 had cable controlled ac system?
Blend door is cable, vents are vacuum actuated
