I didn’t care for the time limit element of the video, rather watch a longer video and hear more about what you thought about the books (without spoilers, of course). 100% agreed with you about Insomnia! If it didn’t have Dark Tower connections I would have DNFed

Loving the timed reviews! 😊 Usually I find people talk too much about the book and I have to fast forward so I don’t hear too much info/plot. (Obviously for the books I have not read yet! lol)

In the 1980s, a Stephen King quote appeared on this particular author's books:
"I have seen the future of horror and his name is Clive Barker".
Mr. Barker is known for his horror short stories, some of which were adapted into movies like "Hellraiser", "Candyman" and "Nightbreed", as well as some books with some elements of horror but are more portal fantasy / magical realism with sprinkles here and there of horror
You should read his books in the order they were published because his magnum opus "Imajica" is, in my opinion, his best.
    Books of Blood Vols I-III
    The Damnation Game (1985)
    Weaveworld (1987)
    Cabal (1988)
The Great and Secret Show (1989)
    Imajica (1991)
    The Thief of Always (1992)
    Everville (1994)

So glad you have read Fahrenheit 451. It’s so good. It’s also such an important book about how reading is knowledge and once you have it, the knowledge cannot be taken from you. Fahrenheit 451 started so many people I know into their love of reading….my son being one of them.

I also recently read Fahrenheit 451 & good morning monster. Good morning monster was just as good as the stories were awful. My personal reading goal this year was to read more non fiction. I was so captivated by the different stories & I am very glad I read it.
I had grabbed Fahrenheit 451 on a whim. Idk what possessed me to grab it. Maybe bc it’s short and my goal for September was to read 13 books but again, I’m so happy I did. I like to tab books but very rarely does a book make me want to grab a pen/marker/highlighter and actually mark it up. I was highlighting, I was underlining, I was circling, staring, & writing little notes in the margins.

After hearing so much Stephen King praise, I finally decided to hop on the train and just finished Billy Summers! I really enjoyed it and it kept my attention even though I'm really busy, which is saying something since I usually lose my reading steam when I get busy. I know I want to read 11/22/63 soon but what other ones should I definitely look into??

That’s wonderful!! I think some of his classics such as “‘Salem’s Lot,””The Shining,” or “Pet Semetary” are all excellent King at his best. I also really liked “Needful Things” and “Duma Key.” Any of those!!

How do people read so much so quickly? Kinda jealous, I have a lot on my TBR but I'm just slow ig, need to spend more time reading. Some people have audiobooks on while doing other stuff, but I'm quite incapable of listening to audiobooks unless I'm reading along.

    • @iangubeli
      @iangubeli  3 дня назад

There is some linear plot development that happens across the novels that wouldn’t make sense in some cases if you read them out of order. But overall, I would say you could probably get away with reading them however you want!
