I agree with all the books, I am just not sure about Before The Coffee Gets Cold, because it is written in a really simple way and I know this is what adds to is calming and soothing character, but I feel like Rory would be more into lyrical, hypotacticle writing.
Ah, I can't remember seeing her reading it, but I think I'd add The Secret History! Or just anything by Donna Tart. And for something more modern, maybe Our Wives Under the Sea, as I saw there were some Stephen King books in her list!
Did she ever read Murakami? She would love Murakami. And Pachinko. Station Eleven would def be in a shot. Donna Tartt. Ottessa Moshfegh. House Of Leaves even! And 100% The Hunger Games. I love this concept because we’re basically just asking the question of what are books we consider modern classics or socially relevant at least
A vampire but not vampire book that I highly recommend is House of Hunger by Alexis Henderson. (You'll get what I mean if you look up the synopsis.) I read it last spooky season and LOVED it. Its a slow kinda Dickensian type world start. A woman who feels out of options applies to a job as a "blood maiden" for a wealthy house. The story builds to a super gory ending. I loved Henderson's writing so much that I am about to start her new release "An Academy of Liars" which is a datk academia book. PS: I try to make TBRs and then my mood says otherwise lol. I wanted to read Once and Future Witches but then I got sucked into A Darker Shade of Magic for the first time. I will probably continue after the read I mentioned above. I may try to get to An Education in Malice, too. (Have you read A Dowry of Blood?!)
I might be wrong but WASN‘T the book thief one of the books mentioned in Gilmore Girls? I literally went through the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge yesterday (we love coincedences) and I think I saw it on there.
Agreed especially just kids i am not as well read as her but i think she'd read the secret history and enjoy reliving her collegiate days possibly the hunger games before the movies released I would love to see more videos like this I'm addicted to gilmore girls (jess girl also justice for Lindsey) maybe a lorelai list and a jess list honestly I'd even watch a season 1 dean list (hunter s Thompson) considering he was basically like jess before the writers started their character assassination
That’s quite a rude way of responding. It makes sense that Rory would read the same books regardless of when the show was filmed. Though all the books you mentioned are valid (I’m not hating on you), I think your delivery for your response was unnecessarily harsh. The original commenter wasn’t being rude nor bashing you. Why you jumped to conclusions in such a manner is quite odd. Again, I’m not hating on you, I thought your video was lighthearted, but your response was immature and rude. I not saying to “fix your mistakes”, but to take into consideration other people’s opinions as they are as valid as yours.

That’s so fair! I get that

OMG - I just googled and it was. Oops!! At least I was right lol
I feel like Rory would read Madeline Miller’s books, especially Circe, and more Greek mythology in general if it was filmed now!!
Sooo true!!!
i love this! i feel like she would also love Everything I Know About Love!
@@Fariiimah I loved that one - I totally agree
