Really impressive how fast things are going for emulation of this generation. I couldn't imagine something like Lost Odyssey being stable a year or so ago and now I'm mostly through Disc 1 with no isssues. Really hoping PS4 emu follows a similar trajectory.
shadPS4 is progressing at an incredible speed, and there's one called "RPCSX" targeting both PS4 and PS5. Thing is, from the PS4/XBO generation onwards, consoles are basically PCs in a box. So, there's no need to emulate anything (not in the traditional sense). What we're seeing nowadays are called "translation layers" for that reason.
I’ve been using the Xenia branch for Xbox Series X to capture gameplay from Operation Darkness, since it bypasses the region lock. I wish it could just play my discs though
The only reason I’ve ever wanted to do 360 emulation is to play Ridge Racer 6 at 4K, but sadly those graphics bugs have been there for years and have never been fixed. Ugh.
I’ve been wanting to play fable 2 again but I don’t have working hardware anymore. There are a few others, so I’ve been keeping half an eye on it. Waiting for the Linux situation to improve, though.
I was able to get Afterburner Climax running on my Steam Deck, and it runs really well! Sadly, Otomedious Excellent does not work. I need my moe Gradius!
@Ragesauce 🤣 further proof I’m bad at predicting what will hit. Model 2 emulator vid was like 3x the views in the first hour. Maybe I’m just more known for the esoteric

Yes we will never get away from the word emulation but the APU instruction set on both the CPU and GPU side are near to identical to what any PC uses

I wonder how Xenia compares to the official 360 emulator on the newer Xboxes. The official one supports Ninja Gaiden 2 but Xenia doesn't, for example

Yep still exist. Flickering trees and other weirdness
My games play the audio at the correct setting but the gameplay is now slower since using new XM 2.0

Steam Deck is hard just because it’s not a native app. It’s impressive it works as well as it does though
