Nintendo was only bothered, and justly so, when the creators tried to put it on steam. Yuzu was never an issue to Nintendo, until they started making money by pirating brand new games and leaking Tears of the Kingdom, one of the best games ever made, costing a lot of money to Nintendo. All the best SNES emulators are still up, same with N64 and even Wii U. Do you really think Nintendo didn't know that Yuzu existed before they started making money off of it with patreon etc...? Are you really that dumb? It's not Nintendo's fault but it's the fault of the people who want to make money off of piracy. Ask yourself why Ryujinx is still up, still updated almost daily and Nintendo doesn't care.
I just started getting into Xenia. It reminds me of old emulators where you had no UI and had to ctrl + O every game in your folder. I tried NFS Most Wanted first and there was no sound and the light was so bright it made everything white except the car. Saints Row 2 and FEAR work great though. I was amazed because I didn't know my computer was capable of running 360 or PS3 games!

I doubt it. If people that have the ability to mod the console, right software, create hardware etc haven't done so yet, they most likely won't. If you're a die hard modder who loved Xbox then there is a good chance you're already been messing with it for a few years. I don't think this will jump start a new interest to a degree that it will push emulation forward at a faster speed. Everyone knew that the storefront will close down at some point, this is inevitable for all consoles. If that wasn't a driving force then, its not going to be much one now that it is actually done. What this will do tho is make those that have been in the scene work harder, but I don't think we will see a large influx of new people popping into the scene due to it closing. EDIT: Not to mention there are so many different versions of the 360 from hardware to software that people can only focus on one specific type of build and firmware. Its too splintered. This is why even today when you see mod guides they tell you the exact model are best and the firmware to look for. Not all 360's can even be modded, softmod or hardware.
I am so thankful that Emulation exists. I 1000% support it , and i'm thankful that it's become more prevalent. If companies aren't going to give us an avenue to continue purchasing their products that WE WANT, then Emulation it is. Awesome Video, thank you RGT!
Well tbh this comment makes no sense. It costs money to keep these digital marketplaces up and for the past few years, the marketplace on the 360 hasn't had an active consumer base. They've given you an avenue to buy these games for almost 20 years lol, and with less and less people utilizing the 360 marketplace over the years, it shows less and less people want it. Of course Microsoft would pull the plug on it. Still sad, but that's just what happens. I'm impressed it's even lasted as long as it did, and for the past few months many games have been permanently discounted. At least they support their digital storefronts longer than Nintendo would ever dare to do so. Nintendo would have a heart attack imagining any of their storefronts lasting 19 years...
Wow, this is amazing! I gave up on Xenia due to the lack of ease and trying to follow tutorials was not helping. This looks like a huge improvement and looks like it's a lot more helpful! I'm excited to try this
Capcom Arcade Cabinet is playable however the licensing works differently, so it's still "locked" but at least there were a few unlocked games included like Black Tiger.
I got this to play Symphony of The Night and it plays beautifully. the PS version is clasic, the graphis are just more cleaned up and loading screens aren't as jankey.
I recently played them on the cloud streaming service Microsoft has. Unfortunate that it requires the ultimate game pass to play them, but I’m definitely going to give this a try! The input lag wasn’t terrible, but the emulation might be nice to clean up how the game looks and feels
I did it mate. mine asked me to unlock the full version inside the game. after a race or 2. works amazingly well. I love Daytona USA 2001. had it on my dreamcast I went to Dixons a no longer around tech store like UK currys PC world today and bought it. I loved peeling the plastic off of new games back then with the nice brittle af dreamcast cases that would shatter in an instant lol

Good video. I've tested this with Skate 3 and was getting janky glitches and tearing so I limited the FPS to 30 then using the Steam tool "lossless scaling" to double my FPS. My LS settings use the Nvidia type of scaling from the drop down menu and scaled it by x2 with performance mode on. I still get some glitches at the bottom of the screen if the floor is complicated eg. brickwork, but any smooth surfaces are rendering fine. Please do a video on your favourite Xbox marketplace games. Even if they can't be emulated at this moment in time. Thanks.
Indeed and we can now play Perfect Dark Zer0 with full cut scene audio mint :), I would say yes original perfect dark is playable on NVIDIA cards now but since the recompiled version is out and running at full strength no point to that version anymore, Oh wait can not forget BEAN (007 Goldeneye) that is another win for xbox 360 emulation since a recompiled version is not yet to come to public, thumbs up on the video :)

I wish there was a greater interest in Xbox One emulation (or even better, recompilation) simply because so many of those games only support local multiplayer on the Xbox One, not PC.
The problem with Xenia is that there are so many games that are not compatible with the program. Graphical and sound glitches and crashes plague many of these games no matter how much you tinker with the settings.
This is true. He should have mentioned that instead of making people think it's as simple as 1,2,3, and they're good to go with everything they throw at it.

It isn't a fix to any issues that the program has as far as functionality and he never said it was. If you thought that's what hes saying I think that's more on you and what you want to be the case.
that's the state of the emulator, not settings. The emulator is very rough in general. The program is a better front end to make it more user friendly, not more compatible with games.

My point is that he should state and reiterate that this will not fix games that already have trouble emulating on xenia...just look through all the comments and count how many people keep asking the same questions about their games.
So me being excited, I installed this over my pervious install with all my settings in check, and now its all jacked up again lol. I dont really want to spend hours again trying to figure out all the correct setting again for all my 360 games.
I have tried xenia and enjoyed it a lot. Like you mentioned, it was always a lot of work. Especially, turning on patches. If doing patches are easier through this, that would be amazing
According to the xbox 360 faq, the online servers for particular games are still active, and you can still play online. It's only access to the store that is being shut down.
We have netplay, however it doesn't work like xbox live and not a lot of games support it, you have to have a friend to create a lobby to play with i think, correct me if im wrong
Thats wild. Literally red dead one is the only game I can get working smoothly using Xenia or Xenia canary. Gta 5 is all I want to play but it freezes on first mission with micheals cheating wife

Same here brother. PCSX2 works flawlessly now, but man Xenia?! I just want to play Gears and Fable II without bugs. I've tried literally everything to get rid of the dog glitches and blacked out character models in Fable II. No luck at all.

Unfortunately they abandoned backwards compatibility, which they could’ve definitely added more to the list, including Xbox titles. I know they said because of licensing reasons, but it couldn’t have been every game.

Perhaps there is a only one interesting game on Xbox emulator - Fable 2, like Bloodborne on PS4, because they are exclusives that no one will port to PC.
I gave up on Xenia, most of the titles I tried just don’t run or if they do they run at a unplayable frame rate, games like WET Blur NBA 2k binary domain all have issues. You’re better off emulating the PS3 version or invest in an Rgh 360 and play them there. If you want to be play an 360 exclusive more than likely it’s already back compatible with series and on sale for cheap. Xenia ain’t it just not yet at least.

I remember when I first discovered emulation with MAME back in 2004 it was one of those amazing surprises. I've been hooked ever since on emulation especially on the 6th gen of gaming so many amazing titles. Man it just makes me realize how bad modern gaming is thank goodness for emulators!!! 9th gen is easily the worst gen of gaming I've ever experience.

Xenia manager has a trojan in it according to my Bitdefender Total security.
Some people don't take care of their rigs, I found 2 viruses on VirusTotal. Try version 1.8.0 (the one from the video) it has none.
Well hopefully I can find a copy of Bug Ball. Lots of small indie games that were amazing.

Red Dead Redemption 1 (Switch version) is still much easier to emulate on Yuzu or Ryujinx than the X360 version on Xenia..

Unfortunately they abandoned backwards compatibility, which they could’ve definitely added more to the list, including Xbox titles. I know they said because of licensing reasons, but it couldn’t have been every game.

Xenia has a long way to go until it’s as effective as other emulators…many more games need to be made compatible

Perhaps there is a only one interesting game on Xbox emulator - Fable 2, like Bloodborne on PS4, because they are exclusives that no one will port to PC.

I gave up on Xenia, most of the titles I tried just don’t run or if they do they run at a unplayable frame rate, games like WET Blur NBA 2k binary domain all have issues. You’re better off emulating the PS3 version or invest in an Rgh 360 and play them there. If you want to be play an 360 exclusive more than likely it’s already back compatible with series and on sale for cheap. Xenia ain’t it just not yet at least.

I remember when I first discovered emulation with MAME back in 2004 it was one of those amazing surprises. I've been hooked ever since on emulation especially on the 6th gen of gaming so many amazing titles. Man it just makes me realize how bad modern gaming is thank goodness for emulators!!! 9th gen is easily the worst gen of gaming I've ever experience.
How is it better if you can’t earn achievements on your own account as you do on your 360 Xbox one it’s not the same it’s like Nintendo your better off doing PS2 original Xbox and all Nintendo consoles that don’t have achievements trophies
