    Great review. My thinking is the gearwrench wrenches that you bought long ago are the best ones they made. The ones now from Taiwan are not too bad but the Chinese made ones are a real crap shoot on quality. Just my opinion. Nothing better than Snap- On. The Blue Point and Williams wrenches are both pretty descent though

    • @CountryMileGarage
      @CountryMileGarage  7 месяцев назад +1

      I agree with you the older GW was top quality IMO and the Chinese made is just something to stay away from, the Blue Point / Williams is good but the cream of the crop is Snap-on for sure ... thank you for watching and your opinion

    Those Snap-on wrenches are nice. I have the Gearwrench set like yours. I haven't had a chance to use them yet as I recently acquired them. I like the stop that the Gearwrench have so that it doesn't slip down the fastener while your wrenching.
    My tools are clean like yours. I wipe my tools down after I am finished and put them away. I learned that from my Dad who is a retired stone mason. Most masons tools are covered in dried cement. After my Dad was finished, he scrubbed his trowels and wheel barrows. He kept them spotless.

    Bought the Bluepoint set around 15 years ago. At that time Gearwrench, ez-red, etc...,that my co-workers and I had, were breaking left and right. My Snap-on guy, at the time, let me trade in my Gearwrench set for the Bluepoints. Never broke one. Never skipped a tooth. The only thing I didn't like was the laser etching would wear off. Traded in the Bluepoints for the Snap-on ones. I kinda regret doing that in the beginning because I didn't want to pay full price for those buggers. You have the updated design, that uses a rivet like hardware to keep the ratcheting head together. I have the original ones, which uses little screws. Well, three of the wrenches came apart while using them. The screws backed out! Must've been a known issue because they replaced mine with the updated design like yours. On the flip side, the slim head design (what you measured) has gotten me out of a tight spot enough times, that it has made up for it. Now I love them.

      I did kind of the same thing ran the Gearwrench set then got the Blue Points (I kept the GW tho) but trade the metric Blue Point set in on the Snap-on set. I like all 3 and they all serve their purpose ... thank you for watching and sharing your opinion

    Those Snappys sure look nice, and If I wasn't so dang old, lol, They would be worth investing in.
    Think though how much bread those Gearwrenches have put on your table! They don't owe you any $$ after all these years

      Absolutely Mark but that's why I still have the GW ratcheting wrenches they moved from my main box to the cart and that's also why I have so much GW hand tools because they have proved them self with the test of time. I "upgraded" because sometimes you like the finer things in life as you get older LOL ... thank you for watching my friend

    The Snap On for sure are the nicest. Blue Point / Williams are great wrenches for the price. Not to take away from Snap On, but because it’s a Flank Drive + wrench it’s longer than the GW & Blue Point. With that longer length, weight and mass is why it’s able to carry itself further on your lil test. That and the Snap Ons ratcheting action is the smoothest outta all 3. I have and use GW and Williams. Both are great, never had to warranty a Williams but I have warrantied a few GW. If the Snappys weren’t so exspensive we’d all have em haha

    • @CountryMileGarage
      @CountryMileGarage  7 месяцев назад +1

      I know this was not a scientific test but it gives you an idea lol. I have warrantied a couple GW as well but for the money not a bad tool. I think we can all agree that Snap-on is the best but expensive LOL ... thank you for watching

    Snap on for the win.
    Are there folks out there that bought up the whole Blue Point line? I seem to find one or two pieces here and there, Never saw a full Blue Point set.

      Snap-on still sells them. They also make a bigger size set, 21-25mm. I still have that set. As far as I know they're still lifetime warranty.

    Snap on not worth what they cost. Just paying for USA stamped on them. They're really not better. People just think they are because they paid more. A huge mind trick that companies use. Sorry buts its fact. I have snap on wrenches and i gave them away and kept my Pro Grade wrenches i bought from fleet farm. Im gearwrench fan also. I dont hate SO, but i always think the name sounds like a kids playtoy set.
