  • Every Wrench I've used within a 10year period as an Automotive Mechanic/Technician. Some I've had for 10 years, others for around 6 years & some more recent with the last year or so. Such brands include Icon, Snap-On, MAC, Armstrong, Huskey, MATCO, Cornwell, Craftsman, & Gearwrench. I have put together an amazon affiliate list of different styles with different purposes that you may find to be a time saver. Hope you enjoyed today's video. If you did consider subsrcibing for future content. If you like today's video thumbs up it. if you didn't thumbs down, share if you want to share. Tell us what brand and how long you've had your wrenches for and which ones you felt dis-satisfied with. Cheers!

    One of my favourite tools is a single vessel Philips 2 screwdriver great for most Philips heads , and a set of flex head aviation spanners there was no 12 mm so brought it separate it cost nearly £40 but i hate to skip sizes.

    Hello again Justin
    Thank you for another Great Video. Two thoughts for you. 1) On the angle head wrenches, as a aircraft aircraft mechanic, I bought a set from Harbor Freight (HF). I think I paid $16.99 for a twelve piece set over 10 years ago. I haven't broken one yet. This is not my every day tool. 2) Torque adapters could possibly get into places your wrench cannot. I haven't seen these at HF yet, this one of those tools I'm always on the lookout for but can never seem to find!! Anyhow, thank you again

    I remember buying those Cornwell adjustable wrenches about 10 years ago when they were sold under the Pittsburgh Pro label. Exact same set, the price was a lot easier on the wallet back then.

    Idk if you scooped up the double box end ratcheting wrenches from Icon aka Harbor Freight, but I love those things! Haven’t had a single issue, fit all the nuts and bolts perfectly. Ratcheting mechanisms are smooth as well. Well made product from them. Obviously GearWrench offers a little more bang for your buck but regardless.

    As someone else has said about certain tools: “You may rarely need it, but when you need it, you REALLY need it.” Yup. I’ve got a lot of tools like that. My wife says (with some truth), that I’ll buy a tool I don’t need just in case a friend may need it sometime.
    I still have, and use, my first Vise-Grip that my father bought for me in the early 1960’s. That’s gone through a lot. I’ve got many tools for decades, including my Rockwell power tools. Just need brushes now and then, new cords and a cleaning. Though, my battery DeWalts have taken over for most things.

    Just gave the Matco Man a hefty payment yesterday, and you just reminded me of the hex wrenches they offer. I’ve need a “turbo wrench” mainly for the convenience on stripped drain plugs. Welp looks like I’ll be sliding onto his truck again next week. 😅

    Good review. I have alot of the craftsman usa wrenches better than the china. Have some husky, blackhawk and kobalt. Grearwrench and texton are starting the invasion. When working on front wheel drive you can never have too many different style wrenches.

    Justin Dow.. Harbor Freight recently opened another store here closer to me so I went to check it out. I was looking for some sort of case to put my camera gear in to keep it protected when not in use. I was looking at the Icon tools in person and I have to say they look really good especially the wrenches. I wouldn't mind trying them out..

    • @JustinDowDIYcentralhighway

      If you were in the automotive program at any community college or trade school you fill out a form through Snap-On’s website and you get 50% off of their tools same thing with MATCO and I’m pretty sure the same thing with Cornwell and Mac Tools as well. We also got a 25% discount at any neighboring Sears at that time frame as well. The most of those stores have closed

    Hey justin like the video! I’m getting into mechanics and i begin school soon. what’s the best one stop shop for buying tools online? i don’t have a local dealer that i know of and the closest thing to a tool store is lowe’s. amazon seems to have a lot of stuff but i’ve always been sketchy about buying from amazon i don’t wanna get fake stuff. is that just dumbass fear i have or should i just pick everything up off there and not worry about it. i’ve also heard about some companies not doing warranties from stuff off amazon

    • @JustinDowDIYcentralhighway
      @JustinDowDIYcentralhighway  4 года назад +1

      I have gotten plenty of things off Amazon. My dad always told me as a rule of thumb if they’re willing to ship it through Amazon prime which is two day shipping and it has the company name as far as the seller than you should be good to go

    • @JustinDowDIYcentralhighway
      @JustinDowDIYcentralhighway  4 года назад +1

      In short the Amazon pretty much is a one stop shop. They have everything most any other tool truck has for the exception of some of the higher end stuff like Snap-On but even some of the stuff that Snap-On re-brands can be purchased from Amazon as well

    Hello Justin
    Enjoys the channel and the tool reviews.
    I purchased a set of angle head wrenches from a little known company named extreme torque they are made in the USA and well made. Might be worth looking into as we all know those snap on wrenches are super expensive. And for the obstruction wrenches or half moons as they are called sunex makes some real nice ones and gearwrench makes a half moon.
