    Seeing your chickens in the background reminded me of the news story I heard a couple of days ago. They had mentioned that there's been a huge increase in people raising their own backyard chickens & that there has been a huge increase in Salmonella infections as a result.

    I bought my 3/8's Snap On torque wrench back in 2003. I had my dealer check it's calibration in 2018 and it was still spot on. Granted I am not building engines with it everyday, but I was impressed.

    Check out the Williams S-57 Torque Wrench. Ratchets, and goes up to 200ft lbs. Best torque wrench I've ever used.

  • @robludwigsen7831

    I really like the older style torque wrenches. The snap-on torque-ometers with a dial. And I have a super sweet ratcheting Williams Super Torque wrench look them up. Just retorqued a saab 9-5 b234's factory stretch head bolts with the MLS gasket and the Williams worked awesome. Some of the hand tools are actually superior from the old days not to mention a super good deal. I'm not paying 600 bucks for a tool. I'm paying like 60 bucks on ebay. IMHO

    Vice grips look good, and knipex is great quality. Loved their stuff for the electrical trade. Much better than klein.

    I've heard that your supposed to get your torque wrench calibrated once a year but it depends on how much you would use it in my opinion

  • @RenegadesGarage

    Justin Dow.. Awesome video.. If the Knipex vice grips are the same quality as their pliers and wire cutters they would be great to have. I bought the Sunex angle wrenches because of their price. I didn't know the Tekton angle wrenches are made in the USA or I would've bought them.

    Very cool man. Like the cutaways to you working on stuff in the shop. Noticed those sets of hex and torx bit drivers. Question: In all my DIYing, which includes stuff like changing out plugs, starters, batteries, alternators and even a radiator once, I’ve never had a call to use them. As a shop mechanic, what do you use them on?

  • @marcplace6531
    @marcplace6531 4 года назад +1

    In aviation we are required to send ours to a lab for calibration once a year. Costs between 35-55 dollars plus shipping. I have click type snapons. Maybe once every 3 years or so they have to mess with them to get them back in spec. That being said mine are lightly used compared to a busy auto shop.

    Aye what do you think about the gearwrench mechanic mobile work table? I'm debating between that one and the monster mobile table maybe the oemtools grey table, anyway brother if you have an opinion I'd appreciate it!!! 🍻

    • @JustinDowDIYcentralhighway
      @JustinDowDIYcentralhighway  4 года назад +1

      Let me talk with Jeff and see what he thinks. I've owned the Monster Mobile in the past. It's 50/50. Some flaws include the lock cylinder, drawer glides and if I remember correctly paint wasn't the best when it came into contact with chemicals. Otherwise... It did the job before I traded it in for that Cornwell 56" & a Rubbermaid mobile cart made out of some kind of heavy plastic

    • @JustinDowDIYcentralhighway
      @JustinDowDIYcentralhighway  4 года назад +1

      well I agree with the click style which I showed, but I was torquing to 210 ft lbs on those ARP nut's, but the Snap-On Digital torque wrench has a Degree angle setting that you can use, but of course is limited to 100 ft lbs. so if you torque 22 ft lbs, then 90, then + 70 degrees... it's more than the 3/8 degree Snap-on can do.
