The way I see it, looking less aggressive, while _being_ more aggressive, is exactly what you want from an insane sport _wagon_ . It's supposed to be a sleeper of sorts.

I have never driven slower than the day I brought my daughter home from the hospital. But then again I was in a Mazda Protege 5 wagon, so slowly was my only option.
me either. I had a karen with her pre-teen son in the passenger seat pass me in the turning lane. I was in a 2007 4 dr honda accord.
The Protege can be driven fast, but it just takes longer to get there. I'm sure whatever car you drive, it won't be to its full potential when bringing home your child.
The E63s wagon is still the king of every day cars!! But I will say the RS6 looks like an absolute beast, especially from the front.
The Audi engine is dated, though.

As a family with twins, we are looking to upgrade from our mini hatchback. This or the RS6 is my dream dadwagon!! Ok back to reality, this weekend we are looking at the Outback. 😅
I love my outback! Had about 7 of them lol. In terms of reliability. Get a 3.6 if you're getting a newer one. Especially a 2019 with the revised cvt

Bought our E63S wagon recently based on the 1st review y’all did, also drove our first born home from the hospital in it as well just 4 weeks ago. The video was spot on with the front leg room with the car seat. It’s an amazing family car when you want it to be, and a neck snapper when you want to open it up. Absolutely love ours

Agree. I find the only car with unhindered passenger leg room with a baby seat behind is the Range Rover full body and its competitors. But the wagon want is real.
One year update? How’s the reliability? I’ve heard other owners say the wheel axles are slightly off and causes excessive inner tire wear and it can’t be fixed etc… how’s yours faring?
@@gulfblue I can confirm the inner tire wear...but, its a freaking tire. What ever... :-) Cost of fun!

my 2014 has been great... over 100,000 miles. I've spent around $12,000 over 5 years. $7,000 was the brake job on all 4 wheels, $1,200 on a suspension compressor, $400 battery, and the rest was new engine and transmission mounts. Car is in great shape and a BLAST on a long road trip.

I’m 54 now, the demographic for this car. Back in the early 90’s though, I had Volvo 850 Turbo wagons with tunes making well over 300hp. They were great fun dusting others from stoplights with the “baby on board” sticker in the rear window. Wagons are very under appreciated.

Hats off to the guys at The Straight Pipes for their spot-on review of this car. I took delivery of my new E63s Wagon last week. I have put about 350km on it so far and would agree with pretty much everything they say. Still in the break-in period. I must say this is the most impressive vehicle I have owned. Lots more to discover, especially after the break-in period is complete. In summary - great looks, great sound, comfortable, practical and great build quality. The people that know, know...
I really want to upgrade from my '19 E63 wagon, but there aren't enough differences just yet for me to justify it. I'd say your title is spot on. It is STILL the best car in the world! There is nothing like it out there. I drove the RS6 for a week and while I loved it, I didn't have the emotional attachment as I do with the AMG.

It’s surprising given these cars get bigger every year but it doesn’t always seem to translate in to the passenger compartment. At least, not in the way you would expect.

It's nice to see station wagons are very much alive and well, dispite being a very niche class. I will always have a sweet spot for wagons because I was born in 1989 and brought home from the hospital in my grandparent's 1986 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. Unfortunately by the time I came of age to buy by first vehicle in my early 20s the number of station wagons on the road was a small fraction of what I remember from my childhood. Congratulations on the little one, I'm sure he'll love it when he finds out later on he was one of the few selected babies to ride in a wagon in the 21st century 😊

Just FYI, if you’re fitting a convertible rear facing seat there is almost no space in front of the seat. Because of that I argue it’s not the best Familywagon.

It's kinda amazing that my GTI has about the same rear passenger space as this giant wagon. I too have put car seats behind the front seats, and it was a little tight, but not quite that bad.

Pro tip for grocery shopping; a milk crate is square, a document or file crate is almost the same but rectangular. Get a document crate, put it in your shopping cart while you shop, and use that in lieu of bags when you check out. Drinks and other liquids get priority in the crate, and leftovers like bread and other soft-sided items go in the bags. Game-changer...life changer. Especially now buying diaps and wipes and other baby accoutrements.

God those turbo v8's sound like shit. They don't actually sound like anything just electronics and muffled quick shifts all blended in together. In the pursuit for faster and better, they've lost the audible soul of motoring.

As a 2009 CTS-V 6 speed wagon ,..I would LOVE one of these! Mercedes has the coolest wagons around! I LOVE THE Beaton but we won’t see it again now.
Everytime anyone asks me what is my dream car I point them to this, well the older version, E63 AMG Shooting Brake, but this is the new hotness
I couldn’t afford an E63s so I picked up an 2018 E400 wagon and everything besides the power is the same and I absolutely love it. Most practical and comfortable car I’ve ever owned. The fuel mileage on the highway and the lane keep assist make it an absolute long distance garage sale monster.
a smarter choice, you can't really use all that power day to day and the E400 is plenty quick, also replacing the brakes you won't have to take out a second mortgage. My buddy has an E63s and to replace all the rotors and pads is almost $5000 in canada. Having driven the E63s the power is incredible but you run out of road as it keeps building and building. The 400 is the practical choice, the 63 is for bragging rights

Great video guys thanks..... It would be good to know potential servicing interval costs ( up to 100,000m ) on top level cars from manufacturers like AMG, Audi. Also the average costs of consumables for example tyres ( some top level cars have limited tyre brand options due to tyre size) obviously tyres won’t last in a 🍩😜. Thanks again 😉👍🏼
