Thank you so much Mark and Jack for this video. This has been my dream car since release of the original E-class AMG Hammer (1986). My parents owned the lowly regular 300E. And having been a follower of SavageGeese since the beginning, it is great to see Jack "coming into his own." The interplay of you two now remind me of my favorite movie reviewers Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert (both R.I.P.). And yes I am a subscriber and Patreon supporter to help keep you guys around.
I would need my attorney on speed dial if I owned that car. Even Unintentionally, I suspect one would find themselves doing triple digits without even realizing it on open stretches of highway.
You don't need to go anything like this expensive to be able to do that - almost any half decent large family car made in the last decade will cruise at 100 mph all day without the passengers even noticing if they're used to being in cheap small cars. I changed from a medium sized to a large family car from a budget European brand and 75 mph suddenly felt like 55. I should mention that 161 km/h is 100 mph, 120 km/h (~75 mph) is the lowest top motorway speed limit I've seen in Europe, with some countries going as high as 140 km/h (~87 mph) or no speed limit at all in the case of some sections of German autobahn.
I haven't driven an E63 Wagon, but I have tested a C63. You're absolutely right. Triple digit speeds are completely effortless. The scary part is that they're so smooth that it really doesn't feel like you're driving at "I'm going to prison" speeds.
By far the best thing about that interior was the amount of space with the seats folded down - all the shiny carbon fibre and touch sensitive attention wasting controls around the driver seem pretty terrible to me. Putting money towards that level of financial millstone in the first place cannot be rationalized unless you have enough cash to spare to buy full on supercar in the first place.

Agreed on principle - though I think one needs to have a very special affinity to the brand or mindset for this car. This car is utterly confusing to me. Personally, I think wagons are the best kind of cars on the planet for almost any climate (for those who need the cargo space - else, sedans) but choosing this car over any Porsche CUV/SUV (much as I despise either of these vehicle categories) or Audi Avant product on both reliability and practical design standpoint I simply cannot understand. Most Porsche products (when decently maintained) have a good reputation for reliability but this....I can't imagine having this long-term and maintain it would ever be cheaper than a lease - that is just my impression, based on the complexity alone and the questionable reliability of Mercedes in the last decade. The target demographic for this vehicle (as Jack had described it well in video) seems so narrow and niche that I can't imagine more than a few hundred of these sold in the whole US. Admittedly, I *am* a pro-EV person, yet even trying to eliminate this bias, choosing this over Taycan or Model S seems utterly pointless.
