Whoever turned up the bass - thank you! I had never noticed how awesome it was (the original version is all guitar). I've been really appreciating Alex's talent more and more lately.
Im a bassplayer of 16 years and Alex is one of my major influences. He is so under-rated! Amazing player! Blur v Oasis, ask me arse!!! Blur win hands down!!
They were so good! I love the sound of Alex James' bass. They were all great musicians. The best brit pop band ever, the most alternative and original one
I love Blur. On those three britpop records they took all the best of british alternative music from the era before the indy 80s (XTC, Kinks, Clash) and turned it into something I could totally relate to as a preteen in a far away country. Pure musical craftsmanship all the way. And they turned raw and dirty just at the time I got interested in those kinds of sounds (on the self-titled LP, and on their masterpiece 13). Im really grateful that I got to grow up with such an intelligent band.
I don't really see the psychedellia that much besides from the vocals and the tinkering drums but I deffo getya with the Syd voice specially how he pronounces things in that very suburbian mundane Engolieesh acc ento : )
I can't help myself but where is the "freaking out" of Damon like he always does? It sounds like Damon and the other ones are just bored of what they do? But Blur is the best band ever!
i wish that damon alburn and thom yorke would both just spontaneously forget the past twelve or fifteen years and front the coolest bands in england again
