You can listen to blur’s album all day and never get tired of it....there is so much flavor so much art. You can never hear the same drum beat same guitar riff same melody compared to oasis where u can hear the same guitar riffs, same drum beats, same melody and even same lyric lines.
I always thought Damon's voice sounds so much better on slower songs such as this one... I mean it's great to hear him belting out songs like Bank Holiday and Song 2, but songs like this give him more of a chance to show off his amazing voice :)
@Andy Alejandro :v agreed, although I'd reckon the 2 most influencial of the band were mainly Damon and Graham, but singling out one guy in a band is ludicrous
THE best song from The Great Escape...what about Strange News from Another Star or Battle or Sing or Birthday or Miss America? Ah Ah! weird but so wonderful songs...Damon you're a genius.
I have thousands of CDs, records, etc. from hundreds of bands. I love music! by far Blur is my favorite band; every time I hear a song from them I think this is my favorite song..... That to me is their genius.
Blur are so fucking brilliant that I really want to cry for the explosion of happiness that I feel when I'm listening to them, yes it's corny but is the truth, BLUR, I LOVE YOU
You realize you grew up when you're able to like both Oasis and Blur but acknowledge that Oasis could've never made a song quite like this.
you couldnt have said that better dude! amen!
Agreed! No offense to Oasis, but, went it comes to The Battle of Britpop, Blur reigns supreme!
:)
Still i like Oasis more.
you know a band is good when their live performances are way better than their album recorded versions...which are also brilliant...
notice the beautiful and infinite mix of sadness and loneliness in the chorus.
I’ve actually got a tattoo that says “She thought of planes” because of this song. It’s absolutely one of my favorite songs by them.
very underrated song, one of the better songs from The Great Escape

Oasis are actually pretty great but there is no comparison to the complexity and wonder of Blur, don't want to sound like a tw-t but it's true.
alex james is a god of the bass with two tanks in her back

8 years later but I totally agree. He really nails melancholia with that beautifully wistful voice of his
One of their very best in my opinion.
What a bassline. That's why I love Blur, they made (make) so many different things musically really, really well
The bass line is just that amazing! Alex really can’t sit still, he’s brilliant
that bassline is just so amazing, the guitar is really good too but the bass in this song man, wow. Go Alex!
...And Damon is indeed a genius.

Chorus is my favorite part, love to sing this along
21 years old. makes me feel old! bought the great escape on cassette as soon as it was released, this was instantly my favourite track on the album.
he's so fucking talented
Blur are so fucking brilliant that I really want to cry for the explosion of happiness that I feel when I'm listening to them, yes it's corny but is the truth, BLUR, I LOVE YOU
Ditto, their music is orgasmically good.
A bit slower than the studio version. I like it.
this is seriously so fucking good, my fav live performance of blur!
I think I prefer the live version to the studio one. Thanks for uploading
This perfomance is so good! Pure Perfection.
And Alex playing the bass... awesome!
Live version > studio version

Great song, great performance.
This is a million times better than the album version.
Классная песня , с лучшего (для меня лично) , альбома Blur " The Great Escape " и прошедшие уже 22 года лишь укрепили мое мнение.

Drrrr, now I see - he was saying the that the other songs you mentioned aren't from The Great Escape. Nevermind!
B r i l l. I remember this.
I think that's what you wanted to answer me!
One of the best moments on The Great Escape.
What he says after "she's gone and done the lot"?
Did they ever find someone to drive with
im just thinking about better quality...
haha
these songs are not from the great escape
Space invaders 🎶🎶✨
I get a bit of a Suede vibe......
Damon looks like a five year old here
No bother!!!
Not crap. Just awful instrument levels. Jools should be ashamed.
Crap.
