      In regards to over heating, it’s not something I have had an issue with, but that’s possibly because I am only taking shots that are 5-20 seconds long. Maybe if you are shooting longer shots it might be an issue.
      One thing I would advise is to get the battery grip or take a charger with you. The battery is ok, but would definitely recommend getting a back up. I get about 2 shoots in a day out of the battery before I need to charge it again.
      It’s a great camera though. Enjoy!

      Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated, I’ve done a few more videos now you can check out too!
      In regards to the distortion, this can be corrected in premiere using the lens distortion tool. Not sure what it would be in Final Cut, as I’ve not had to use that tool since i have started using Final Cut.
      I tend not to use the wide lens in the pocket 3 because of the distortion. I find once you have corrected it, you are pretty much at the same 20mm focal length as the standard lens on the camera.

    I plan to employ the Pocket 3 for active tracking during my real estate video shoot, simultaneously capturing additional footage of the property with the Sony Alpha IV. My concern is whether the video quality of the Pocket 3 will seamlessly integrate with that of the Sony Alpha IV?

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  3 месяца назад

      I think it’s a good option if you are shooting on your own and wanting to take advantage of the tracking function. In terms of if it will go well with the A7IV, I think it would be fine if you you are just shooting content that is going to be viewing mainly on phones, tablets or laptops at the largest and not too noticeable that it’s with a different camera.

    Hey there, nice video, do u think that pocket 3 can have a wider lens than o.75? for instance 0.55 or at least o.65? Any comments? thanks

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  7 месяцев назад

      At the moment I only know the widest lens you can get is a 15mm lens which attaches to the front by a magnet. This works pretty well, but does distort so if you do correct it you lose some of the width in the shot.
      I’ve shot with just the standard 20mm lens, and in larger rooms it works fine. Smaller rooms it’s not so great.

    One of my favorite features is the one touch recall of Timelapse and Motionlapse programs available on a gimbal mounted camera. This camera made inferior in every way a pair of Sony 1” sensor cameras that were dear to me, the motion picture capabilities of this camera are off the charts.

    I have a pocket 3 and love it but I really struggle to keep the vertical bounce out of my shots. I have not mastered the ninja walk and I know slow motion will mask some of that but I noticed your shots look particularly smooth - any tips on how to achieve that?

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  7 месяцев назад +1

      It's a great little camera. As you mentioned, I slow my footage down when editing. I either shoot in 30 fps and slow it all down to 25 fps when editing, or shoot in 50 fps and slow it between 50-70% depening on how slow I want the clip to look. If there is still a bit of bounce visible in the footage I will add the Warp Stabilizer effect in Premier Pro when editing. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and enjoy the camera!

    How do you do the fast transition? What soft ware do use ?

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  6 месяцев назад +1

      I do the majority of editing in Premiere Pro, then I export and open it in CapCut desktop. I then splice the video where the cuts are and add in the transitions in CapCut as there are a lot of good ones available on the free version. I don’t know why Premiere can’t include something like this!

    The camera is really cool, but don't you think is too small and cheap? I know, thats a dumb concept, and that the important part is the result, but if clients percieve you're using something similar to their phone then they would question your budget (?)

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  7 месяцев назад

      It’s a valid point and one I agree with. I reflect the use of this camera in my prices and the agents I work with know they are getting this level of equipment. I have a premium video package for higher end properties using a full frame camera, and a standard package using this, or an iPhone for social media, so agents have a choice depending on their budget. It has both helped me gain more work and also open video content up to more agents at a more affordable price point.

      When people see the videos, they are not going to think what camera are you shooting with lol! The footage looks professional! That’s all that matters! The DJI OSMO 3 did its job. For its price, it already beats a LOT of high end cameras and it being a gimbal in itself. What would I need to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars when I can just use this lol! For all I care the DJI OSMO 3 footage looks like it was shot with a high end Sony camera lol! What matters is properly walking with the gimbal, low light, composition, sound quality, 10-bit color grading, smooth transitions, knowing what and how to shoot, knowing proper shutter speed, ND filters, motion blur, symmetry, slow motion, speed ramping, time lapse, and so much more! ALL THIS REQUIRES SKILLS!!!
      Great Video man!!!
      Yes I have the DJI OSMO Pocket 3 AND other cameras as well! Oh and Multiple gimbals I wasted my money on lol!

  • @saskatchewandave
    @saskatchewandave 5 месяцев назад

    Just to be a troll, but why would you not shoot in 120 fps to smooth it out? 30fps isn't ideal at all for that at all.

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  5 месяцев назад +1

      No problem, it’s a valid point you make. I mainly shoot at 50fps and slow everything down by 50%, I find this makes smooth enough footage. Sometimes I do shoot at 30 fps if I don’t want to slow it down too much, but still allows me to slow a little on the 25fps timeline I usually edit on.
      Obviously, like you say 120fps is going to give you the smoothest footage, but I think it’s a bit too slow for my liking for a real estate walkthrough video, but understand if others prefer this.
      Thanks for watching.

      @@jonathanshilton yeah, you guys and your 50fps, lol... it's 60 over here. Just so you know as well, it doesn't need to be any slower at 120fps, just how you stretch it in the edit.
