thanks so much for sharing
And thanks so much for watching!
hey i wan you do a test?
record a videos en sony a7iv 4k 30 frames and convert tis to 4k 60p to see if we need en reality shoot in 4k 60 for slowmotion?
Thanks much @@reallyjordanhorn
Great video, really helpfull. Can you please share your pocket 3 settings? And at what framerate do you edit?
If it’s for a listing video, it’s gonna be at 4k 60fps, and then ideally 2x frame rate for the shutter speed
@@reallyjordanhorn Tnx. So then you edit it in a 30fps timeline? I'm asking because the upload is in 30
Love mine, have it in tilt lock awesome
Tilt lock is great but don't forget to throw in some fpv tilting twisting shots for variety!!
Thank you for the video. Unrelated question, I’m looking for good stock music for real estate vids. I like you music, do you mind sharing some good titles and where to download? Also, maybe make a vid related to this topic. Thanks again!
Hey! I use epidemic sound! I just download whatever sounds cool. I’ll start putting song titles in my videos :-)
The iPhone is better but it has more jitters. The distortion on the Pocket 3 is a deal breaker; in FCP X I've a distortion plug in and that just reduces the lenses 15mm focal width. Also I would like to see these tests done in low light environments, not all of us shoot white walled bright Florida or California properties. thank you for doing this.
What do you do for exterior shots needing an ND filter on the iPhone? I've found adding an ND to the iPhone gets to the extreme OM5 weight limit. A good share of the time the gimbal just loses it!
Just crank the shutter speed, my friend. No need for an ND filter. If you’re gonna go through the trouble of rigging it out, then you’ll need a beefier gimbal. And by then, you’ll probably just want to use a regular camera if you’re trying to get all the accessories, haha.
great video, I am kinda bummed that I like the iPhone 15 better, I have both, but the colors on the iPhone looked so much better to me
Yeah, I found myself in the same thought process. I was really hopeful I’d like the pocket 3 better.
But I succumbed to my gear acquisition syndrome and bought a Sony ZV-E1 so I’ll be using that for listing videos too lol
Thanks for watching!
Great video man! Quick question, in your opinion do you think Iphones on Gimbals have made an Avata fly through/ any FPV fly through redundant? Also what software do you use to edit?
Thanks man! Appreciate your support.
I personally have never liked fly-throughs of properties. Especially having to leave everything on auto, it results in bad exposure, bad white balance adjustments, and overall not that great of a service. Unless you're in the top 1% of drone operators with a custom drone and are extremely proficient with it, and are charging $1,000+ for a fly through, I don't think they're that useful. FPV shots could be a cool addition to a listing video with 1 or 2 shots peppered in, but I don't think they're that useful from the getgo.
I'm kind of all over the place. Final Cut Pro is overall my favorite one to use, but I've been using Premiere Pro recently because I find myself on my PC workstation more often than my Macbook Air. I also do Davinci Resolve sometimes when I need better motion blur - they're all useful in their own ways.
I'd say my favorite editing tool is Final Cut Pro - and by a large margin. But the one I find myself in most often, just because my most powerful workstation is also a PC (for now), I'm usually in Premiere Pro, and hating every second of it LOL
Legend, very interesting insight! I'm surprised you haven't upgraded to a top spec Apple product for your work station;) @@reallyjordanhorn
@@DavidTimsonAir I’m thinking about it…. I don’t like spending a lot of money on anything other than useless camera gear I won’t use LOL
You know you want to:)@@reallyjordanhorn
Oh, do you have a link to the guys you use for editing?@@reallyjordanhorn
Thank you putting a raw comparison of the video. I was about to pull the trigger on the Pocket 3 but now I dont think its necessary with the newest iPhone
Absolutely! Glad it was handy :-)
You do not know how much I appreciate your comment. I was buying this because I felt it would up the video and camera quality of my phone. I have been lost for weeks. So I feel if it's comparable to the iphone I don't need it UNLESS it provides that AMAZING FLOW STATE STABILIATIONS that makes the video looks breathtaking amazing!!! Is this the case? Please help...
@@atdezI personally recommend, if you already have the iPhone, just getting something like the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 cell phone gimbal. The Pocket 3 is great, but I personally like the iPhone way more. Also having the 3 lenses all in one is quite handy
@@reallyjordanhorn so I downloaded an app for the iPhone that allows me to input the settings from a professional camera and paired it up with the dji phone gimbal
@@reallyjordanhorn I have a HOHEM 6, do you feel this is at least comparable to the DJI Osmo Mobile 6? Also, appreciate your time so much. Which camera app on the iphone 14 plus do you recommend using for better flowstate. I have solely been using the standard iphone camera. Also, I feel wide angle a must for real estate. Do you use the same camera app for both? Wide angle and 1x zoom?
What song at 5:23? Love it! Where can I license that one?
I’ll have to check what song it is, but they’re all on epidemic sound!!
I kept changing my mind which I preferred..tempted to give my current iPhone to my daughter as an excuse to get a 15 😆 I did a corporate office video a while back, it was cool to fly the mini 2 over all the desks with people working/cowering underneath(!)
Oh wow! I wouldn’t have done that with the Mini 2! Haha, that’s terrifying. Usually interiors are done with a drone called a “cinewoop” that are very small and have propeller guards!!
yeah I'm not sure I'd do it again!@@reallyjordanhorn
Great comparison! The pocket 3 is not bad at all. Definitely great for someone who doesn’t have the latest iPhone. Would make a lot of sense to have the pocket 3 if your time is super limited and you gotta make a quick video tour.
Thank you! Yeah I think I can recommend it. The quality is pretty darn close to the iPhone.
Thanks for the video
If it is possible for you,
Please make a comparison video without wide angle.
And please compare low-light spaces as well
I have an android phone that doesn't have a pal video recorder and I need a pal.
Due to the large dimensions of the camera and camera gimbal, it is unusable for me
I was thinking about buying iPhone 15 Pro Max when I came across Osmo Pocket 3, I'm a little hesitant to choose
Sure thing! I'll be doing another video moreso on the Pocket 3... Though for the money, I'd recommend the iPhone 15 Pro Max for versatility. Just having the three different lens options already blows the pocket 3 out of the water. I think the Pocket 3 is a great camera, but it's more of an "assistant" to other cameras, to capture shots that wouldn't necessarily be possible with a larger camera. I think it's a great camera to keep on standby for those types of situations, but as a standalone *main* camera? I don't recommend it.
@@reallyjordanhornThanks for the tip, I agree with you
for the iphone setup are you just using the Osmo 6 gimbal and thats it?
Yup!
Is it good for content creation and also makes videos for social ads and stuff?
Yeah man, it’s still an awesome camera! If you don’t have an iPhone, then I’d say it’s still a good listing video camera too. But if you had a choice between an iPhone 15 pro max and the pocket 3, definitely go with the iPhone.
But yeah I fully intend on keeping the pocket 3, it’s great for my vlogs, great for b-roll, that kinda thing.
Do you charge a fee if realtors reschedule on you? if so how many days in advance to they have to reschedule without them having to pay a fee?
You should have a few that you charge, yes. But you’ll waive it more often than not. It’s usually more of a threat type of thing like “hey you’ve rescheduled last minute so many times, I’m going to have to start charging the fee if this continues”.
Similar to having a fee if you have to wait for the house to be cleaned because it’s not ready, or the homeowners are present, etc.
If it’s within 24 hours, I’m gonna be upset haha.
If it’s a couple days in advance, no fee, no hard feelings.
I wont do what the other guy did here essentially trying to call you a liar lol. The pocket 3 does distort when using the wide angle lens provided. Without it its straight. Wish I didnt have to find that out the long way. Both are amazing but it seems like you're much more comfortable using the iPhone. And guess what... thats all that matters. Whatever gear you work best with is what should be used! Nice video Jordan
Haha thank you!
Yeah I did a lot of research with the Pocket 3 before buying and not ONE video I watched mentioned the distortion in the wide angle lens.
Oh well, still a great camera for all my vlogs!
Thanks for watching :-)
Please put a comparison for the dynamic range
Will do! At a later date, when I have some time, I'm going to put the Pocket 3 more through its paces. Thanks for watching!
Tanks @@reallyjordanhorn
Holy crap. I also preferred camera B but I was convinced that was the Pocket 3.
Haha! Surprised??
@@reallyjordanhorn Yeah I really thought Pocket 3 would look better, hands down. Interesting!
So if you strictly did verticals for osmo pocket 3, will that work better?
Like horizontals? Straight on shots? I’d say so, yeah. I actually ended up taking off the wide angle lens adapter and just did it normal and liked the result a lot better
@@reallyjordanhorn I mean for like veritcal shots for reels
@@KB24M10 oh, I don’t know. I haven’t done anything vertical with the pocket 3 yet. To be determined.
I've been experimenting with the P3…currently using it on a Z-axis, with the extended battery, and a little weight…I have it placed horizontal and use a BIG A$$ tablet running the Mimo app…hate the wide angle lens…
What about low light ?
Pocket 3 falls apart in low light
here in brasil the pocket 3 is literally half of the price of the 15 pro max, thanks for the comparisson
In that case, pocket 3 wins :-)
Why not use your R7 instead of either.... and where can we see more of your RE work?
I’ve gone through and used cameras before all this. Started with an A7III, then an A7S3, then a BMPCC 4K. I like my iPhone, thank you very much lol. Much, much easier workflow.
@@reallyjordanhorn Not knocking it, was just asking. I agree, the Iphone actually does great video.
Jordan. I think I am going to cry. ahahah Only because I have been watching reviews on the DJI Pocket 3 for weeks. I have been asking everyone is it that much GREATER and BRILLIANT than the iphone and you answered that clear!!! If you have iphone 12 or under than YES!!! That makes sense. I have the iphone14 pro max with a HOHEM M6 Gimble. I am struggling making cinematic flow scenes that you clearly made with your phone!!! I think I need to find a class or learn how to set my phone settings correctly to use it to it's fullest potential. The money I was going to use for the DJI pocket i may use for a little drone. By the way the aerial scenes were not done on your phone or were they??? ahah Do you have tutorials on how to make the floaty cinematic scenes. You mentioned using black magic and something else at minute 11:31. I think you said something like VLOG? Sorry for these questions on overload, I just want to make floaty video scenes (insert monkey covering it's eyes emoji here)!! :/ In closing, best video review i have seen, high five!
Thanks for watching!! Pocket 3 is a great camera, but iPhone 15 pro is far better. If you shoot in DLOG M on the pocket 3, then yeah you'll extract some extra dynamic range, or shooting in LOG on the iPhone 15 (Can't do it on the 14!), you can color grade for some nice footage, but not strictly necessary.
I'll be creating more in-depth how-to with listing videos, since I think I've got the smoothness locked down pat. Keep an eye!
@@reallyjordanhorn I have been checking daily for this video. How to shoot listing videos with smoothness. Until then can you recommend a good camera app to use for real estate videos? I have been using the stanrdard one with the iphone. I have been reading it's better using a camera app and again, there are so many. GASP! Thank you. WIde lenss a must
This video is a bit of a coincidence for me. Iphondo has just done a video complaining about insta 360 trying to compromise his review. I immediately thought about the hype surrounding the pocket 3, that only has a few reviews that call it out as over hyped. Ive never been that impressed with it, and to me it seemed like it was being pushed hard by nearly everyone.
You know, I thought the same thing, but here’s the thing, the pocket 3 is supremely good for vlogging, capturing B-roll, doing some slowmo, or just using it as an every day quick video capture.
But for real estate videography? Meh
Camera A is OP3 since its sky color is too blue to be true color.
iPhone ultra wide angle is 13 mm equivalent, pocket 3 is 20mm and with the wide angle is 15 mm but with this wide angle it gives distortion, making the verticals close to the corners bent. Wish freewell comes out with a wide angle like they have for pocket 2 with no distortion. Advantage of iPhone is you can switch between lenses for detail shots. Cons: you need an extra gimbal, log files are massive and requires you to have a good computer to be able to edit them. Pocket 3 pros: it comes with a gimbal integrated, 1 inch sensor gives you better low light footage, log files are small and easy to edit, because of its size you can film without people being aware you are filming (common areas in buildings where they don’t allow us to do shoots), you can do moving Timelapse & Hyperlapse without an external gimbal. Cons: no wide angle lens yet that doesn’t distort, small screen, easy to damage.
Both are great tools for Real Estate video and more
Yup, agreed. I think overall the iPhone wins. The pocket 3 is a great additional/backup camera. But as for using it as a main one? I don’t think so
You think the iPhone was the winner there? Did you not see the stuttering?
That was just my lower export settings for this YT video. Plus, even if it was choppier for a listing video, that’s nothing that can’t be fixed by pressing “interpolate footage” to fill in the gaps and smooth it out. iPhone still wins imo just due to versatility and convenience.
That being said, I’m using my pocket 3 more and more for vertical content and it’s nice and smooth. Each have their place.
Thanks for watching!
I was all into the camera until I found out that is not good for vertical videos
I’ll be trying that next, but I am not super hopeful. Thanks for watching!
@@reallyjordanhorn I heard the video quality for the vertical is less and if you try to use the camera sideways to get a vertical video is even worse. I’m binging your videos, have one on cue from 8 months ago to watch next and need to go comment on the crop sensor video
@@MR-si2cdthanks for the support :-)
Sorry, but 10-bit D-log is special
I don't doubt it! I absolutely have not put the Pocket 3 through its paces, and made this quick video for fun. I absolutely will be giving it a more fair go at a later date.
@@reallyjordanhorn No worries, man. I get your point. I got a pocket 3 but I am not a fanboy of anything. If it works it's good for me
Bro where you located lol if I charged that here in Georgia they would die lol
Hahah, while I am in California, my prices are not outrageous compared to pricing I see in various markets throughout the United States. I just do a lot of services per listing.
@@reallyjordanhornjealous lol 😂😂😂
@@TheEvansjustin21 I can teach you ;)
Sorry man, but this is a joke, if you actually use manual settings and dont use the wide angle lens there is no distortion in the DJI... You continue to give people bad advice... Not only that you clearly made sure you made a better final video with the iphone... like adding the detail shots, different drone shots, just curious, why you didnt just make the same final video.... as far as the small screen, you can buy a 12.00 adapter, that holds the pocket 3 with the phone right next to it, connect thru the mimo app and then you have a iphone as a monitor. its amazing to me that people are paying you for coaching.
I think you’re reading into this video far too much, man.
For the majority of people, they’ll take the Pocket 3 out of the box and use it. Just like I did.
Pocket 3 doesn’t have a 5x lens so ergo can’t do nice detail shots that the iPhone can. I respect you didn’t like the comparison.
I’m curious as to what you mean when you say that I “continue to give bad advice”. Can you elaborate your experience?
