    As someone who’s never shot a video before when I saw this clip I thought “I wish I could shoot this well” 😂 Then heard the critique and it scared the sht out of me hahaha. For an untrained eye like mine I found nothing wrong with it but for a pro it’s a whole different story. That’s why it’s so easy Morgan’s to have your work reviewed and feedback is literally priceless. I’ll be shtting my pants when I shoot my first video, it’ll look like absolute crap probably.

    • @reallyjordanhorn

      Start, though! Can’t get better at a skill unless you practice it :)

  • @Cheese-Head
    @Cheese-Head 22 часа назад

    Canon R6 mk ii is about the same price right now. Would you recommend it over this camera? It’s got IBIS and AI stuff in it, seems like a more capable camera. What do you think?

    • @reallyjordanhorn
      @reallyjordanhorn 22 часа назад

      Hmm, that’s a good question. The R6II is a very capable camera, but it’s not quite on par with the ZV-E1, in my opinion. Plus, there are far, FAR more Sony lenses available that are way more budget friendly than for Canon’s RF. I just bought a Canon R5C, and the 15-35mm f2.8 was $2000 alone. Whereas you could pick up a used ZVE1 for like $1700 or maybe less and then another $800 for a sigma 14-24mm f2.8. If you got an R6II and wanted to avoid spending a bunch of money for RF lenses, you’d have to get old EF lenses and adapt them, but then you’d have inferior performance than the Sony. Hope this helps.

    • @Cheese-Head
      @Cheese-Head 21 час назад

      @@reallyjordanhorn thank you! This really helped. I do have some EF lenses 20mm, 50mm and 200mm but they aren’t suitable for REP (except maybe 20 in some cases). So I’d need to sell my canon stuff and repurchase Sony. But I think I’d go with Sony A7C II. They share the same sensor with ZVE1, little worse for videography but excels at photos. I’d compromise on video but get 33 m pixels, EVF. For a beginner both are more than enough I think. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

    • @reallyjordanhorn
      @reallyjordanhorn 21 час назад

      Mmmm, slight correction here. A7c2 has a similar sensor and performance to the A7iv, which has a 33MP sensor for photos, and can shoot 4k 60fps, but it carries an APSC crop (1.5x). Which means you’ll have to buy a full frame lens for photography, and a wide angle lens for APSC like the Laowa 9mm Zero D. Comparing the A7C2 to the ZVE1 isn’t a fair comparison. You might think 12MP isn’t enough, but for real estate photography, it’s more than good enough. I’d recommend the ZVE1 over the A7iv/A7C2 any day. ZVE1 does uncropped 4k 60, which means you’ll be able to use the same lens for photos as video.

    • @Cheese-Head
      @Cheese-Head 16 часов назад

      @@reallyjordanhorn Jordan, what about a7CR? It can do 4K @60, but crops at 120 unlike zve1, right? But has 61mp for stills. Did you consider the CR?

    • @reallyjordanhorn
      @reallyjordanhorn 16 часов назад

      At that point why not save some money and go for the ZVE1? I think you’re thinking megapixels are far more important than they actually are

  • @Cheese-Head
    @Cheese-Head День назад

    Is there a curriculum for the courses? Will editing process for video/stills be covered for those who want to edit themselves on the beginning?

    • @reallyjordanhorn
      @reallyjordanhorn День назад

      There will be a curriculum coming out soon, just before the course does. And yes, editing for yourself will be included. Good to have a foundational understanding of all aspects of your business :)

  • @Cheese-Head
    @Cheese-Head День назад

    This is priceless info! Do you need to get good at all these things in order to start the business or can you focus on a few things at a time and then add more services as time goes by? For example, I’d like to offer stills, floor plans and 360 virtual tours upon opening and then add videography (drone, video tours). Also, you don’t really need to incorporate. You can list all your business related expanses on your schedule C as a proprietor. Is there a benefit to incorporating?

    • @reallyjordanhorn
      @reallyjordanhorn День назад

      I’d recommend getting good at all of them, as you don’t want to turn away any interested parties, but you don’t necessarily have to. And that’s a very big question - yes, there are many benefits to incorporating, but you’ll have to start doing research on that on your own, or talk to a CPA to see if it’s right for your situation. There are perks and benefits, and cons and drawbacks to every different option. Thanks for watching!

  • @Cheese-Head

    I am so glad I found your channel. I’m an amateur photographer and want to get into RE photography. I watched a ton of videos by Nathan Cool and wanted to buy his course but literally can’t afford it. It’s $600. Plus he is a proponent of the flambiant method which would require more equipment I don’t have. I can’t believe you are doing all this with minimal gear. Nathan says you have to buy level bulkhead, flashes, umbrellas, edit your own photos (until you’re big enough that you don’t have time) and it overwhelmed me so much. Thank you for sharing your experience. To get started, do you need a website with portfolio and if yes how do you get samples of your property shoots if you’re just starting out? Also what service do you recommend for editing? Pixel mob, upwork, etc or did you find it elsewhere? Thank you.

    • @reallyjordanhorn
      @reallyjordanhorn День назад

      Glad you’re here! I go over all of this in different videos, so I’d encourage you to flip through. You definitely don’t need flash. It really comes down to how you use the Pocket 3, what level of editing you're capable of doing and a lot of other factors. In this case, the way it was used, yes, the iPhone footage came out better (not great, tho). Pocket 3 being used the correct way, it blows the iPhone out of the water. Watch OriginaldoBo's comparison where he pits it against a Sony cinema camera and you can barely tell the difference, the iPhone wouldn't even have a shot.

Is there software with 1 time payment every year or do you have to pay per doll house? How do you make your virtual walk through with 360 camera? All this i feel is the main part of your equipment since they all say you can just use your phone.... well how do you make a floor plan with photo i took from a phone? How do you record on your phone and get the video to computer in high quality?

      Hello! In order from your questions: CubiCasa (free app on your phone) Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, but mainly outsourcing to third party editors. Matterport, but dollhouses aren’t really super popular. It’s mainly about the virtual tours but they’re getting less popular. There are some other softwares, some are monthly, some are per space. You make the virtual tour by following the directions for whatever provider you’re using. When you use CubiCasa to make floor plans, you actually just walkthrough videoing the entire house’s walls. It extrapolates the rest of the floor plan from the video. Depends on what system you’re using, but iphone to Mac is easy to do via AirDrop. Or you can always upload from your phone to google drive then download on your computer. Thanks for watching!

    AP mode with bracketing is the best way. let the camera do the work. no need to shoot manual and adjust in each room.

    • @reallyjordanhorn
      @reallyjordanhorn Месяц назад

      To each their own! I disagree, because I don’t want to rely on what the camera thinks I want to expose for. Getting used to full manual just gives far more control and doesn’t take that much longer

    • @oxxxeee
      @oxxxeee Месяц назад

      @@reallyjordanhorn Actually, the time to adjust the exposure for each shot adds up when going from room-to-room. It will take more time in the long run and is unnecessary. You obviously have not tested other methods. What is more concerning are the photos on your website [Monterey]. They have lens barrel distortion, vertical alignment issues, window bloom, blown exterior views, HDR color casts and amateur compositions. Before you call yourself a "master" RE photographer and offer workshops, you need to conduct a deep dive into the efficiency of your workflow and quality of your images.

      You won’t find a lens and camera combo for that much, but you could pick up a canon m50, or a Sony a6000. You’d be around the $300 mark. But then you’d need a lens which would be probably another few hundred

    Jordan, I have another question off topic. Getting ready to launch my business. Do you think I should only focus in “Real Estate?” To be able to be wealthy? What do you think about maybe adding to market to businesses ect? And no, its not what I want to do but I feel adding more will make me more money. (Reach more customers”

    • @reallyjordanhorn

      The only other additional thing I’d offer as to not dilute is just social media management or content creation for realtors. Most new business owners think the more they offer the more they’ll make, but it’s the seasoned entrepreneurs that know that niching down is where you make the most money

    Hey Jordan! This question is a bit off topic from the videos but I was hoping you could offer me some insight. Have you ever turned down a job because of the circumstances? Let me explain...I have been asked to do a job that includes interior photos, 3D/Virtual Tour and Drone photos/video, however, the people selling the property, in addition to the realtor, insist on being there during all of this. My concern is having to corral people and moving them around so they're not in the way while I'm trying to get all of this done. Thoughts? Comments? Suggestion, etc ..? I've never had an issue with the realtor being around but having other people seems like the ingredients for a headahe and a job that might end up being more trouble than it's worth!? How would you, or how would you recommend, apprcoaching this?

    • @reallyjordanhorn
      @reallyjordanhorn Месяц назад

      Check my pre-shoot checklist. It’s what I send to all my clients. I have strict rules about how the property needs to be set up before I arrive. No homeowners, no cars, no kids, no pets. If the realtor wants to hang out, that’s fine, but they have to be outside. Otherwise, if the property is full of people, they get charged an extra time waste fee. Pre-shoot checklist should be in the description, or you can find it on REPHUB.app in the downloads section!

      @@reallyjordanhornThanks Jordan! I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. I've only done a handful of shoots thus far and this is the first time this type of situation has come up. I always want to provide the best customer service possible. Unfortunately, the sellers are insistent on being there so I think I am going to have to turn this one down. I've tried working around it but they're rather inflexible and it's turning out to be more trouble than it's worth. I'm gonna check out that checklist and utilize something similar in the future, lesson learned. Thanks again 👍🏻

    Great video. Question for you. I've been asked to come back at night to do a couple night shots of this backyard patio and pergola which is decorated nicely with lights. Would you recommend I just shoot those during the day and use fotober dawn to dusk option? If not and I go back I'm assuming I would take these at dusk. Not nighttime correct? With all the interior lights on in the house and lights on outside. Then would you recommend me just sending them into fotober for regular image enhancement? Also would I be better off using my canon 11-22 for my m50 or the Rokinon 12mm f2.0. I'm a rookie at these nighttime pics. Any advice would be helpful

    • @reallyjordanhorn
      @reallyjordanhorn Месяц назад

      Hey! I’d take them at twilight. That comes into the service category of twilight photography and I usually end up using the pics that I take last. So if twilight is 7:45-8:45, I’ll end up using the pics closer to 8:45 so they’re nice and dark. Borderline night, but still some light

    • @reallyjordanhorn

      @reallyjordanhorn also, either lens is fine since it’s exteriors and you’re still just going to be shooting at f8. You’ll just have to make your shutter speed super low haha.
