    The Spray gun really needs to be more of an angle to get the paint on the bottom of the sills, try to bend your back a bit more and be flexible & please lay out your airline so that you have no knots - nothing worse than having to fight with an airline when painting . I am a time served vehicle spray painter with over 40 years experience & at one time had my own repair business. My comments are only as tips to try to help you - not as any criticism. My first garage was very similar to yours, no booth & yes I watered the floor too.
    If you are going to do a lot of spraying, particularly any involving a hardener please try & invest in a air fed mask. The charcoal filter type has its limits.
    I did enjoy watching you paint the car & it did look a nice job, all the best for the future .

    More excellent work. FYI, it's a bad idea to leave the masking plastic flapping as you did: the overspray that sticks to the plastic then tends to get flicked up over the fresh paint. Also, if you don't wear a spray suit, you tend to drop cloth fibres into the paint as you reach over the vehicle. This is just nitpicking: you did a superb job that you should be proud of :)

    In 1981... I recall someone painting a midget. 68 spec...with Matt red spec paint !....well the owner did try to pass the midget of as an investor....using probably..an electric sprayers...with the motor built into the soraygun......he ended up working for a dry cleaner ..maybe the manager took the car of his hand ..and gave him a trouser press for his own use ...and 20 hrs a week..job

    Super job, but are you going to “bake” it?

    • @VisionAutoGarage
      @VisionAutoGarage  5 лет назад

      Thanks! There's no need to bake it, clear coat is available in several curing speeds, so it can be adjusted to a couple of temperature ranges, but either way baking is all about speeding up the process. If I had a temperature controlled booth I would :)

    Hi mate great vid - which fans have you got installed? What breathing equipment would you recommend also? Cheers!

    • @VisionAutoGarage
      @VisionAutoGarage  5 лет назад

      Thanks! I have two large 240v fans, in wooden housings with fibre-glass based filters. For breathing equipment, you're best looking though the many safety documents regarding isocyanates and make your own decision - I wouldn't like to advise, the consequences of getting it wrong could be fatal!

    Lovely job 👍 I'm planning on painting my mini in the summer, in a single garage and was thinking of using cellulose+clear. Would you recommend this for home use or be better with 2k for someone who's never painted a car?

    • @VisionAutoGarage
      @VisionAutoGarage  5 лет назад +1

      I've never painted with Cellulose but the easiest method would be 2k solid colour, as there's no need for a clear/lacquer. I always use base and clear unless requested to use solid colour. Whatever you use, just be sure to protect yourself!

    Not aware that mask filters the toxic vapeurs of two pack which is why professionals have a separate air supple to breathe from. Spraying two pack at home is dangerous. Many people have killed themselves with the vapors.
