What a beautiful video of a Britain and a culture long gone. How I miss those days. Goodbye Britain, it was a great time while it lasted.
Absolutely 100% spot on, mate 👍
Totally agree 👍
It sure was, I miss it too ❤
Yeah great days when nonces got off Scott free or where on your telly. 3 day working week and people so poor with no prospects- even worse than now. If you were lucky a week at Butlins. You’re looking through rose tinted glasses mate
RIP Wilco - another legend departs, far too early. Thanks for the music - which will live on forever.
Love , peace x a true legend…
"Wilko has left the building."
RIP man...😢
WHAT? He hasn't!
Edit - just been on Google - 😥😥😥
Gran tema
Great video too. The Essex Delta and a whole generation of Rock caught in 4 mins. RIP Wilko. RIP his favourite piano man John Denton 16th November 2023
I'm a 62 year old ex serviceman and police officer and I'm sitting here watching this video with tears in my eyes. That was my Britain and my youth in that video. Thank God I grew up in the 60s and 70s when England 🏴 belonged to the English and the world was a great place to be. Goodbye Wilko RIP guitar man you truly were a legend. 🙏
A time when the plod could kick the shit of anyone they didn't like the look of.
And music was heavily influenced by people from African descent.
@@nickalina No it wasn't not at all. 🤡 🤡
R.I.P. Wilko! You Will never be forgotten. Go in peace, guitar man!
He knew how important he was to a whole generation of culture. What a guitar man he was
I’m feeling so sad,and shocked 😢,thank you Wilko, so original and a gem, from Robbie nz
Hope you made it home, Wilko. You're already missed here.
@@lumpyfishgravy don't worry WILKO MADE IT!!!!
💔💔
Amazing guy, just sat watching a 2hr documentary about the Feelgoods, not realising Wilko had passed...the World's a sadder place without you Sir...Gone Back Home,RIP.
Hopefully Wilko Johnson and Le Brilleaux are having that reunion at the great concert hall in the sky.
Feckin' genius. 2022 needs this sooooooo bad. We're living in a Dead Zone and this is pure adrenaline. Gotta wake our hearts up. Thank you.
Facing Cancer head-on,this attitude about just being alive has to be the way to inspire all.
Daltrey sounding just like he was 22, and one of the best rhythm guitarists as his match. What a fantastic track
This is rock'n'roll classic. I'm huge fan of Lee, but they killed it.
Just heard of Wilko's passing.....Lord Rest Him
Roger's voice just gets better and better, and Wilko is the most watchable guitarist I've ever seen.....Can't take my eyes off him.
Just….BRILLIANT! Four minutes of pure nostalgia, right there. Thanks Roger, Wilko, Lee, Norman, Sparko and The Big Figure. 👍🏻
RIP Wilko - you were a real legend. Had the pleasure of being in the Sheffield Audience for the recording of Stupidity in 1975 and loved him ever since.
Completely unique, there will never be another Wilko Johnson. Thanks for the brilliant music.
Agreed. Was lucky enough to see Wilko three times - once with the original Dr. Feelgood, once with another of his own bands (in about 1990) and then with this lineup minus Roger Daltrey. It took this video (and the album) to finally get Wilko some recognition Stateside. Should have happened sooner. RIP Wilko.
How lucky is Roger Daltrey to be on the same stage as Wilko? What a masterclass, well done Roger!!!
Don't forget the fantastic Norman Watt-Roy on bass.
Other way around, son. Wilco would not exist without The Who being first and most.
Mischievous but I like it.
He's a Wind Up 🤣
@@deaddocreallydeaddoc5244 WHOOSH that went straight over ya head, didn't it sunshine! Mr serious......
Daltrey is easily one of the greatest Rock singers.
2 proper geezers enjoying Rock n Roll...simple as...
Three, don't forget Norman
Excellent. That was the Wilko just after his beating cancer and Daltrey enjoying his 107th year in the music business.I loved that feelgood sound and the flashbacks to their peak( saw them loads of times- excellent). Roger's 'Brilleaux growl' is there too.Long live pub rock and the doctors..
Well said long live pub rock
@@christopherthewreckerthats2295 Theres' a lot of goos Brilleaux / Felgood stuff finding yotube recently..lovin that
And the incomparable Norman Watt-Roy of The Blockheads, on bass!
RIP Wilko you were one of the best and thank you for the pleasure you gave us all
Love this. It’s Wilko and Roger but it also sounds like The Who in their Maximum RnB period, which was never properly recorded. What a treat and what a pair of legends.
This has got to be one of the best albums of the last decade. Wilko you are going to be sadly missed throughout the music world. Music like this will sadly never be repeated. RIP Wilko. Thoughts with your family.
I'm glad you enjoyed and made the most of your extra years Wilko, we certainly enjoyed them. The shock of your passing hit us hard and Canvey has lost a beloved son. Have a pint or six of finest english ale with Lee and say hello from us.
There was only one Wilko Johnson. 😊
What a nostalgic video this is with all the old footage thrown in there. I won't necessarily say better times (though I'm sorely tempted)...but... Well. Simpler times, that's for sure. Halcyon days. Gone, gone...
R.I.P. Wilko Johnson. Guitarist and character head extraordinaire.
Great respect to Wilko for several reasons. Fought back from cancer, great guitar player and song writer, always gracious enough to mention Mick Green (The pirates) as a big influence, and of course inspired many people to pick up a Fender Telecaster (me included!). Also by all accounts a very nice guy. RIP Wilko.
Somebody did a fantastic job on this video. All those clips, so beautifully edited together. Perfect. Long live Roger, Wilko and Norman Watt-Roy!
Agreed - watching it makes you appreciate the dizzying array of heritage and talent that went into this collaboration: one of the greatest British rock vocalists, one of the most under-appreciated British Rhythm guitarists (outside the UK) a fantastic bass player (formerly of the Blockheads) and the son of Yes's Steve Howe on drums. The other period clips of both Roger and Wilko on their way up (and the rest) are beyond wonderful
Great song from a brilliant album. Wilko teaming up with roger was a terrific idea as their album proves.
@typo pit daltrey has always looked and sounded good, whatever decade. Legend !
Hello Madeleine, how are you doing? My name is Randy and I'm a music Lover
Yes they did something very unique. I was completely stunned WOW
Just discovered this guitar playing.....i can't get enough
This is simply a joy to behold! Two top blokes in top form. Makes me smile all day!
first place I came after hearing the sad news about Wilko. One of a kind, he will be sadly missed. Glad he got a reprieve from his initial diagnosis, lived his life like a absolute gentleman.
Memories never fade. R.I.P. Wilco
Two legends together, love that harmonica too.
I think the recognitions for the harp should be going to Steve (West?) Weston.
Rhythm and blues has always been Roger's first love. In recent years he's been able to sing the blues to his heart's content. He plays that harmonica better than ever!
+Carmen L. Blair it's Steve 'West' Weston on the harmonica, he's just not in this video.
+JA D It's good that you give credit where credit is due - 'West Weston' sounds terrific on his harmonica!
Hello Carmen, how are you doing? My name is Randy and I'm a music Lover
Those that know know. and Wilko is all you need to know! It's all "good in tha hood" with this guy.
Wilko at Band On The Wall in Manchester 28 years ago is likely the best gig I've ever seen. For a three piece band they had such a massive sound. He jumped around like a robot gone mental and I'll never forget it.
What a smashin collaboration wilco and Roger, every time I listen to this it makes me smile.
Rodger's gravely voice really suits this song , Brilliant .
I just found out about these guys after spending my 76 year life as a blues fanatic...then I read the Wilko bio...I really enjoy listening to all the incarnations of the band members and all their associates like Ian Dury who blows my sox almost completely off.
If a legend like Daltrey is growling like Lee did it means that maybe nowdays not a lot of young rockers knows the Doctrors and Wilko, but they really made difference in R&R.
How can 45 people not like this." Unbelievable " . This is j just sheer class and outstanding musicians, who are enjoying themselves. I am sure the 45 who did not like it sit and watch shit reality shows such as Pop idol.
One of the best video clips ever made. Just captures the spirit of the song perfectly.
God must love Wilko’s blues cos he gave him extra time on this earth. Hope to see you on the rearranged date in Feb 2022 Wilko!
not 'arf ...it'll be a belter of a tour
Hope you got to see him. I was at St. Luke's Glasgow 18th Feb, but Manchester next day was cancelled due to ill health. Was told he wasn't very well at King Kings Manchester gig on the 17th!
RIP WILKO 🙏 THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC. 💔💙
Love the way Wilco plays the guitar, a style of his own and a great one at that!
Absolutely love this track. Wilko was so outstanding with Dr Feelgood and is sadly missed. Roger is an icon I remember from a brilliant gig at Charlton Athletic FC in the 70’s and the fact they got together for this track gives me so many great memories. Thank you.
Had this cd playing in the car for the last two months. Everyday cranked full up. Love it! Top class musicians, top class rock'n'roll.
Tremendous performance & video. Wilko , you were a legend. RIP and Thanks !
What a truly brilliant timeless album of fantastic music!
Great work. Takes me back several decades listening to ‘Milk and Alcohol’, ‘Happy Jack’ and Jonny Kid and the Pirates. Keep on keeping on.
RIP Wilko, you'll be missed.
Outstanding video 👍 Nobody can Wilko like Wilko 👍🙏❤️
He was certainly one of a kind
Superb!!! RIP Wilko. Your music will live on forever. Thanks.
Excellent video compilation of the guys NOW and THEN!! Filming Wilko standing on the beach at the end..... at Canvey Island was a lovely touch, reminding us of the Album photos from the Dr. feelgood albums too..... class.
2 legends and a killer tune, what's not to like?!!!!!!
3 legends..Norman Watt-Roy on bass.
johnny991965 you’re forgetting Norman on bass there Johnny
"3" Legends, how can you not include the wonderful Mr Watt-Roy???
Not to forget son of another legend Dylan Howe (son of Steve of Yes fame....). Darned good drummer, actually...
@@noelmajers6369 - I saw an interview with Roger Daltry where he described this band as 'Just two guys having fun' - it annoyed the hell out of me, there are bloody four of them! I suppose that 'the rhythm section don't count' attitude is why Daltry and Townsend were happy to tour as the who long after Moon and The Ox had died. I always though Robert Plant had got it right.
RIP Wilko
Thanks for everything, Wilko. Rest if you can.
Thanks for the memories to both but mostly to Wilko. I hope he plays the harp like that.
The combination of Roger Daltry, Wilko Johnson, past and present and the bloody marvellous selection of film footage is a tonic on a grey North West London Summer's day.
Man, the harmonica really works with the driving beat. Very kool tune.
Wonderful stuff....so glad I was young back in the days when we all enjoyed ourselves. So sad for the young generation now.....seems they have nothing in their lives to be happy about. They could start by watching this!!!
I'll drink to that - hic!
Totally right . Could not say it better
Hello Maggie
What, on their bleedin phones ? :o)
Brilliant song both Wilko and Roger still had it and it was the closest thing I’ve heard to the classic Feelgood that I saw live and loved in 75. Thank you
I'm far from a The who fan , and a big Dr Feelgood fan, but Roger Daltreys voice is so powefull that it, almost, make me feel like the late Lee Brilleaux (R.I.P.) is back! :-)
Restored my faith in the world.
I went to a Feelgood concert years ago in Southend and shouted for you Wilko but that bloke Brilleaux said you,d gone and then they threw me out.
I wasn't sober mind.
Great sound.
What a meld of old and new. I'm the same age as these guys. I remember listening to Dr Feelgood and Wilko years ago and now I'm hearing them again, better than ever. They've aged just like good wine.
Lee’s appearance at the end of the clip brings tears to my eyes
You don't get much better than this - Top video, top blokes, fantastic sound
Been playing forever and never heard of Wilko until recently. I just love the playing. It's enough. But with that comes the bonus of the man doing his thing. Rock guitar showman beyond compare because he cut his own territory. That's how the smart ones do it. Wilko is iconic because he made himself that way. It's a beautiful thing to absorb.
Better late than never dude....where have you been all those years HaHa?
@@jamessim1858 Not in the UK. They never really caught on in the US. Damn shame. Although I listened to music from all over I was also immersed in the US music scene. Kind of went from rock to metal to punk. Playing guitar all the time. Looking for gigs, women and trouble.
Awesome, I saw Dr Feelgood in Southend around 1977. Brilliant. And this mashup with Daltrey is a masterpiece. So pleased Wilko is still with us. #rockonandlivelong
Amazing. The real music is back. Thanks Wilko and Rodger.
Happy Birthday, Wilko! Here's to many more!!!!
i was fortunate enough to see Wilko Johnson, The proclaimers and Christy Moore in one evening. Best gig of my life man
One of the great voices of Rock and Roll going back to the roots...
Rest In Peace Wilko
this is a fucking amazing LP, some of the best work either of these legends have ever done. so happy that wilko has kicked that shit's ass, and i'm hoping there's a volume 2 one of these days. killer LP, proof that you don't need 2 years, a few million dollars, and a bunch of rock-star bullshit to get it done. these guys recorded a better album in a week than most guys half their age can do in YEARS.
RIP Wilko bloody legend
R.I.P WILKO DR FEELGOOD FOREVER !!!!
What attitude what energy batteries fully charged now rip wilco Rock In Peace❤
Daltrey and Feelgood = Genious video. Hats off to the creator, best thing on YT tonight.
What a line up ,such genius blokes ,,,,,Its utter joy ...wilco is amazing hes my hero , Going Home is awesome xx
Genuine class guy. Much respect to Wilko. And Daltrey. They obviously poured lot into the recording of the album. And enjoyed doing it.
Bloody Wilko!! Just awesome and Roger is always electric
Saw Dury twice, years back in the 80's in Manchester and then on his last legs in London right at the end. Wilko is kinda unique. love this song. Weaves it together
Killer! Wilko Johnson is so unique!
Ceeeeooooouuuute! Love how down to earth Roger comes across.
RIP Wilko!
Hallelujah! What a sound! And I love Daltrey!
No matter how many times I see this, I still see Ser Ilyn Payne playing the hell out of his axe.
there was a time . thee was a thing , there was happiness joy peace prosperity love pleasures and decency. and this video just blends it all together ,, thank you for the experience and enjoyment... GREAT COMPILATION OF JOYFUL TIMES AND SAD SAD LOSSES. . THESE GUYS MADE LIFE WORTH THE LIVING.
saw them with NME (new musical express) voucher for 50 pence at brighton dome, circa 1975, blows your mind to think about it even now, life changing ! thanks youtube.
I am giving a like to every comment haha! It's such a great match up these two. Wishing Wilco continued good health...and Roger too. You guys keep the rock'n'roll light afire!
Best possible end to the year. Wilko is well again and doing what nobody does better, making the best rock music on this planet. This is awesome.
rip johnson...modism never dies seen you at liverpool stadium[late 70,s[ it was mental.. keep the faith with moon the loon up there
Roger and Wilko always seemed like kindred spirits
Fantastic together, great music, takes me back to my youth. We could listen to and see bands every night
Wilko - Superb stuff - Good luck in your recovery!
Roger - You are not a bad old Chanter!
Rest In Peace Wilko 🙏❤️
RIP Wilko. Easily one of the best videos ever
rogers voice has changed with age (obviously)
but it hasnt lost any power.
top class guy
Yeah, his voice was almost gone by '06. Julie Andrews! and Daltrey found this doctor that operated on them a few years back and now their careers are on track, only one octave lower, which is just no problem...as you can hear. Go Wilko & Roger!
Much deeper, rock voice isn't it ?
Well, the man had a throat cancer in 2006
Nice to see the home town getting appreciated by these two legends rock on guys
Oh yes, Oh yes, Oh yes, certainly makes me feel good. Saw them at the Colston Hall in Bristol in the seventies, not a show you can easily forget.
This is old school rockin'. My gosh this sounds great.
Going back great !.....Thanks Roger and Wilko !
