If you're playing this in your Eldrazi Commander deck, you're going to be running artifacts and unique lands
@@attackoncardboardhe’s saying ppl will throw this in urza decks and shit 🤦🏼♂️🤡😭
@@smurffy5330 literally no reason to be a dick
@@iamabot1o1 how was I being a dick? 😂 lmao, maybe grow a pair and don’t get butthurt over the internet 🤷🏼♂️
Lands are OG colorless
Should be noted this also doubles negative abilities like Lotus Field or Guildless Commons
Shock lands too
@@L1AX1MShocklands "pay 2 life" text is not a triggered ability.
@@attackoncardboard huh? This is what I didn't know. Thanks
@@L1AX1M 'As' is indicative of a Replacement effect. Triggered abilities are denoted by "When", "Whenever" and "At"
@@attackoncardboardAlso "if"
What’s especially crazy is that you can get two of these on the field by copying it with Ulalek, since the enchantment is an Eldrazi. Then whenever echoes gets activated by a cast or triggered ability, it doesn’t just happen twice, but each echoes copies each others triggered ability, which can lead to just an absurd number of copies entering on one cast
Do this, then cast fleshraker, then a Mishra's bauble.
me seeing Zhuludok is hilarious. hey buddy hows that Cascade Cascade Cascade Cascade?
Plus anything you would get from these. This is bananas!
And then you pay the four for Ulalek, since he is also a triggered ability, to make it Cascade, Cascade, Cascade, Cascade, Cascade, Cascade, Cascade, Cascade
If you hit an Eldrazi off the first Cascade, you cast it, so you can trigger Ulalek again 🤯
actually, Ulalek and Echoes go insane if you order the stack right. pay XX colorless to get 2^(X+1) copies of a spell
You called it for what it really is! Eldrazi horizons
We don't beat around the bush here 😂
I don’t know if anyone mentioned this, but don’t use it with Emrakul, the Promised End.
As it’s worded, you only control their NEXT turn, then they get an extra turn after that one. Therefore you could get several triggers of you controlling that next (singular) turn but they would get multiple extra turns afterwards, leading it to actually benefitting them.
Mycosynth Lattice has a new friend
You are completely correct about them being colorless and with mycosynth latus everything is colorless. However painter's servent immediately stops the additional triggers.
Painters Servant makes it so Colourless cards lose their "colourless-ness" and shuts Echoes down completely 😭
@attackoncardboard There is an old but fairly funny combo that essentially shuts down the board. Humility, March of the machines, and mycosynth latus. It makes it impossible or nearly impossible to play anything for anyone. It cost a total 14 mana if I remember correctly but once you have six mana or so what it does is turn everything into 1/1 artifact creatures with no abilities. It is so effective that almost nothing is able to get past it. There are a few special ways to get past it by playing certain specific spells or by using certain specific cards to play certain specific spells however its fairly unlikely that you will even have them in your deck or know exactly what and how to play the specific cards and keep your field or whatever. Then there is iona combo using painter's and that completely shuts down the opponent only.
I run Humility in my Pillowfort deck. I love the card 😂
@attackoncardboard If you want me to give you a few strange or curiously useful combos and cards feel free to ask. I will also say that sometimes older cards are surprisingly useful especially in special occasions. For example riptide replicator allows you to create any type of creature, color, P/T combination you can imagine. Note that the power/ toughness under most circumstances must have the same value but not always and it costs 4 mana with quite the initial investment or a way to increase the counters on it. Special abilities aren't why you are producing the tokens it's either for the creature type itself or for something related to the counters most of the time though it can very easily be as a disposable creature even if the creature in question becomes absolutely vital to your continued survival. I haven't seen any deck that couldn't be helped by the token producing card (excluding spell slinger decks that do nothing but use instants and sorceries or almost nothing but them.
There is also a combo using painter's servent that mills your opponents entire library then exiles their hand and graveyard.
Painter's Servant : "Allow me to introduce myself!"
Needs another reprint
Welp, I guess I need this for my Zabaz deck. Modular triggers would be pretty nutty.
has mark rosewater's name all over it, that's how much this card is bannable
I dunno. Maro himself tends to design narrow, simple effects which then have a wide range of use cases (doubling counters, or doubling mana, or doubling power, etc). This effect itself is more far-reaching in the first place, doubling so many different types of things from so many different sources (triggered abilities spells and permanents, plus copying spells themselves, of so many different card types so long as they're colorless). So it feels more like a card designed by someone else in order to impress Maro.
@@andrewsparkes6275 It sounds like someone had just done 3 lines of coke and was dared to make something broken.
Seriously, all of the new Eldrazi just feel absurd and this is just stupid.
Faced an opponent in draft who had two out. They cast the devoid draw 3 and decked themselves. 😎👍🏾
I love the card, but my only complaint is that the 2nd paragraph should have been written "When you cast a colorless instant or sorcery". I can see this getting banned if everyone plays it in every colorless deck just because they will. The same the reason Prophet of Kruphix got hit.
I still long to "fairly" (as much as you can in commander) prophet, I understand why it had to go, but at the same time there are so many broken cards and combos in commander is it really that bad?
@Red-Tower as you stated, there are a lot of broken combos. When it comes to colorless cards, artifacts are the main culprit paired with this enchantment.
I must admit, I've never realized that.
But I did realize that Breaker of Creation will also take into account lands.
This means this greatly overlooked new eldrazi will not only give you 1 HP for each colorless creatures or artifacts you have, but also for each lands!
Excellent idea!
Another name I thought of that best describes the set (for me at least) is Eldrazi Energy
I'm just gonna make a deck that runs this and mycosynth lattice.
I'm pretty sure copies of spells agent cast, so you won't get 4x cast triggers for one thing, but it's still pretty good imo
Unless the ability says "you may cast the copy", copies aren't cast, they are placed on the stack.
For example Storm copies of Grapeshot.
I know Yoshi's Story music when I hear it! 🎶🤘
Oh that is filthy haha
I just realized that this thing doubles the majority of mana rocks too I think?
...roaming throne....

Something *interesting* is that copying the "control players turn" doesn't really *stack*, because you only control their NEXT turn, not Next X turns
Had someone do that to me on arena, and basically *gave* me a free turn as a result of the "They Gain An Extra Turn" ruling
Is that Eternamax Eteritus?(misspelled)
Nintendo vs WoTC when?

What’s even worse is if you name eldrazi on roaming throne and then you just get a shit ton of triggers cause it copies the spell of roaming throne
Echoes of eternity is BROKEN
Mycosinth Lattice goes brr
Two words: Mirror Box
he didnt mention the most busted combo. ulalek can clone copies made by echoes of eternity. so as long as you have colorless mana to spend. you can get a horde out. you can also clone echoes of eternity. i once got 40 eldrazi ravagers on teh board
-Just to clarify, if you have infinite mana, you can't make infinite copies of something with Echoes and Ulalek in play.-
-You can copy the Echoes triggers (and anything else on the stack) with Ulalek, but they don't retriggers each other. Copying spells is not the same as casting them.-
Eldrazi Maths. You're correct.
@@attackoncardboard it works in mtg arena. so long as you have mana to spend. specifically coloreless mana. then you can clone the copy. and the copy will also proc echoes of eternity. allowing you to do it again.
Sorry. You're correct. It's too early in the morning for me to be doing Eldrazi maths 😂
@@attackoncardboard all good. not many people can fully function after just waking up
My ugin is gonna be a happy boy
Anyone else thinking this would go crazy in an animar deck. Beast whisperer out so you draw a card when you play a creature. You play an artifact deck and on the occasion you draw this card its like "i play myr battle sphere. Its ability triggers twice, i make a copy of it. Thats 12 myr blockers, 2 cards drawn and 2 battlespheres for 0 mana
Beast whisperer says cast, and the copying does not cast unless it says "you may cast the copy" which this does not. So you don't draw twice here.
5 desolation twins for 10 mana what a steal
if the top part effects lands does that mean the bottom half creates a token land for every land drop from then on out?
You don't *cast* lands, you only play them. So no, the 2nd ability of Echo will not trigger on playing lands.
Ah yes cascade cascade cascade cascade
It doesn't double lands because it specifically says spells, landss aren't considered spells
The language specifically is "or another colorless permanent you control triggers". So if a land has a triggered effect, it meets the colorless requirement and triggers twice
Tron is going to be wild after mh3
There are 33 cards in the whole history of magic that can counter triggered abilities. Reprint Stifle.
Stifle dead t really help here. If they’re using etb artifacts with this then you’ll need 4 stifles for each card
So… Does that mean the New Capenna fetch lands will proceed twice?
Yup!
So banned before ot hits play with the land problem
You should quadruple the cast effect of Legendary Ekdrazi as well since it will produce a token copy that would also trigger upon casting no?
Or the temporary token you get upon cast was not a casted spell so the trigger will not work?
Just to clarify.
The latter. Copies in this case are not cast.
@attackoncardboard OK thank you for the clarification, this card is still absolutely bonkers.
Devoid creatures now are viable again?
A must have in the new Eldrazi Commander!
When it says says colorless spells wouldn't that encompass creature spells as well?
Certainly does! The most obvious home for this card is the Eldrazi deck, I just wanted to point out some lesser known cards that go with it 😁
Me with a incolorus deck in the bag 🗿
How many times do you cascade with Zhulodok and this?
4 times. Cascade is a triggered ability. Each Instance of Cascade will get doubled by Echoes.
I’m a Eldrazi and I did not need this card printed my deck is already dominating the board and make it in into an arch enemy game. You give me this and I’m never gonna be able to play my deck again. It will get permanently banned at the shop. And I would have to agree with them.
Have you ever thought about having Zhulodok and this enchantment in play then casting a 7 drop and then cascading 4 times while getting copies of those 4 spells as well as copies of thier cast triggers and ETBs? 🤤
Sounds like a commander take...
@@jii-ro7083 It is? What gave it away? User mentioning "archenemy" or me mentioning Zhulodok?

Oh ok weird
Win more card in a nutshell. 1 good eldarzi trigger is enough to win. No need for doubling that.
I love how the card says "colorless" right there in plain English, but the British chum has to write the caption as "coloUrless" because if the British are known for anything, it's being wrong about their own language.

Last one came out 3 years ago. And it's a great way to shake up the Modern meta without impacting Standard.

How does this enchantment trigger Meteor Golem 4x..??
Shouldn't it be just 2x..??

My doorkeeper thrull says no.
Which Modern deck is that played in?
@@attackoncardboard the same ones that have Doom blade in it. :) strict proctor, hush wing gryph, thrull whatever.

If you cast an eldrazi, wouldn't you get their trigger 4 times? Because the eldrazi spell itself is copied, and then both versions have their trigger doubled.
Copying a spell does not equal casting a spell.
@@attackoncardboard Fair enough, makes sense.
@@tciddados There are a handful of effects that cast copied cards, but you need to look for the wording that says "... you may *cast* the copy" for example, Narset, Enlightened Exile
How is a land tap for red colorless
Arcane signet is colourless and can tap for red?
A permanents colour is defined by their mana cost, colour identity marker or rules text.
For example, Dryad Arbor has the Colour Identity marker of Green (the original printing has the rules text "Dryad Arbor is green."). Again, this is because lands are normally colourless permanents.
@@attackoncardboard what would make lands color?? Painters servant, enchantments?
I believe Painters Servant is the only card that would give lands colour. There are a handful of spells and abilities that can do it for a single turn, but that's about it.
Elesh Mommy does it better for all cases that aren’t Eldrazi
*Where your commander has white in their colour identity.

Commander is a format that has multiple players.
what the hell is a kindred enchantment
Kindred has replaced Tribal.
This means if you have a card that allows you to search for an Eldrazi, you can search for this enchantment.
@@attackoncardboard does tarmogoyf see them as the same thing?
'gofy only checks for card types.
Eldrazi isn't a card type. It's a creature subtype.

A 6 mana enchantment that does nothing the turn it comes into play… so broken😂
Did anyone think this was actually good?
Formats exist outside of Modern.
This will 100% be seeing play in Commander Eldrazi decks.
more like a Nadu horizon 3
There should never have been such a thing as a colorless card outside of lands. The lack of color restrictions break the fundamental balance of what you should and should not have per color going all the way back to alpha. Also no 0 cost spells ever, pay your fees goddamnit
Are you suggesting that colourless artifacts shouldn't be a thing?
In modern you're dead before you can get a trigger off this
Thankfully Commander exists!
This card is busted, played it last week and my board was put of control the turn after i played it
wrong???? 😅as far as rules for lands go on wizards sight no lands do indeed have a color the only lands that arnt a color are colorless lands like wastes and non basic lands that produce colorless mana but i totally understand if wizards changed this to include all lands infact it would make perfect sense they seems to be trying to kill basic lands n who can blame em when most commander decks only run like 2 basic lands xD
All lands are colourless unless the rules text on the card says so or that have a colour identity marker. For example Dryad Arbor.
202.2b Objects with no colored mana symbols in their mana costs are colorless.
because the artifact players needed it, right guys?
Yes we did. And are very happy about this card. I look forward to casting this on turn 3 or 4 and seeing how quickly people scoope.

I can't really see this being played in Modern, it's a 6 mana "do nothing", as you probably know, way to slow.
Don’t play this with the new emurcule u less you want to wipe your own board
How so? Emrakul only wipes the board when they leave the battlefield.
Pretty sure lands don't activate as they are not classified as "colorless" because lands do not have a color value. They may tap for colored or colorless mana but they theme selves do not have a color value like enchantments or creatures.
They're colorless.
blogs.magicjudges.org/rulestips/2011/04/lands-are-colorless/

Hold up. Scorched Ruins doesn't have a triggered ability, so it won't trigger Echoes.
Triggered abilities are denoted by "When" "Whenever" and "At". What we have here is a replacement effect.
The Oracle text of Scorched Ruins has been updated to reflect this 😃
When you copy as spell you do not cast the copy, it is copied directly on the stack, so no “on cast” trigger for the copied eldrazi but still very cool card
Correct. But the original cast trigger still doubles.
@malcrider4300 But you do control the spell when you cast it, so you will double cast triggers of Colorless because that's the first part of Echoes
Paradox engine has become even more busted, and lotus ring.
Not that Paradox engine really needed another trigger to untap everything.
And Lotus Ring is an activated ability, so no craziness there outside of getting a second copy.
i think my smooth brain needs more explaination...
what do you mean "Lands are Colorless"? i thought Lands have the color of mana they can produce
Lands are colourless permanents. So something like Hyrdoblast cannot destroy a Mountain.
Lands can tap for mana of the colour/colourless symbols on them.
@@attackoncardboard okay. i see...
