    Holy crap I didn't know I've been looking for a channel that explains common interaction within decks, as sorting through EDHrec I often don't know why certain cards are there. Great vid, you've got a new sub, keep it up please.

    you should talk about time stamping and god cards. thats where its gets tricky.

      Can you elaborate? Are you talking about Nylea, God of the Hunt - because I'm under the impression it's purpose in decklists is to provide evasion for your animated 4 drops. Thanks.

      It has to do with layers. So I'm not the best at explaining it.
      If your Devotion is online on your turn it's a 4/4 and on their turn it's your normal nylea card creature.
      If your Devotion isn't online, you've got two type changing effects in the same layer, so you go by timestamps. If nylea was played while bello is on the field, it'll follow normal God behavior. But if the nylea is in play and then have Bello enter, then Bello will override the Devotion clause. Making them turn into a 4/4 creature regardless of Devotion on your turn.

    Mirror of lifetrapping + mirrorworks/bramble sovereign is an interesting interaction for Bello

    I'm assuming the rules that effect Nevinyrrals' disc would also apply to something like Blasphemous act? Or would it be different as damage is being dealt rather than a destroy effect?

    • @harisrehan8009
      @harisrehan8009 21 день назад

      Yes but its a bit different.
      From my knowledge, the damage from blasphemous act will kill bello which would make your enchantments and artifacts change back to non-creature permanents.
      The 13 damage marked on them are now irrelevant as they don’t have power/toughness.
      On Clean-up step, the damage is removed.

      @@harisrehan8009 That's kind of what i thought, i was just confused if there ws a point when they were still considered creatures and lost indestructible, or if everything happens at once

      @@Spacewizzard090
      BA deals 13 damage to everything
      Before the next player gets priority, we check state based actions.
      Bello, and a bunch of animated things all have lethal damage on them, but everything other than Bello has indestructible. Bello dies to state based actions.
      Continuous effects are instantly updated meaning your stuff is no longer animated.
      State based actions are checked again and don't see any creatures with lethal damage.
      The active player gets priority and the game continues.
      Now if Dress Down was out and removed the indestructible, then everything would die at the same time as Bello since SBAs are checked simultaneously. Nothing would get the chance to be unanimated after he dies.

    Thanks for the great info man. I love my Bello deck. Can you go over how Bello affects artifact creatures and their stats? Im trying to understand if Bello would lower an Artifact creatures stats down to 4/4 if they were higher than 4/4. Love the content man!

    • @seandun7083
      @seandun7083 15 дней назад +1

      It would. The p/t printed on the creature is applied first, then later on in layer 7 Bello sets their p/t to 4/4 which will overwrite the old stats regardless of what they were.

    I was wondering how things work if my opponent has Bello out and I cast Utter Insignificance on it, on his turn what happens with bello? He argues it keeps all abilities and simple becomes a 1/1 because of the layers. Is that correct?

  • @Rockjay288
    @Rockjay288 17 дней назад

    What about progenitor mimic? 🤔 If it's a RGU deck, bello is on the field, and progenitor is cast and copies a target creature that is normally an enchantment. Copy actually copies the card though, so if bello leaves then progenitor will be an enchantment with "at the beginning of your upkeep if this creature isn't a token, create a token that's a copy of this creature" which I assume just doesn't activate, but it's funny

    • @seandun7083
      @seandun7083 15 дней назад

      Things that say stuff like "this creature", "this permanent", or "this spell" don't actually check if the ability is coming from something of the correct type, so you will still be able to make copies of whatever the Mimic copied.

    I think I know the answer to this but I want to ask anyway to make sure.
    Say you have Bello on the battlefield, Warstorm Surge on the battlefield, and two 4 mana artifacts on the battlefield . On your turn when your artifacts that are already on the battlefield turn into 4/4 elementals, does that trigger warstorm?
    My friend and I disagree here. I say that it doesn’t trigger warstorm or any ETB effect because they are just changing permanent type temporarily and not entering.
    Who is right in this situation?

    • @nutellakinesis
      @nutellakinesis 24 дня назад +3

      It can’t enter the battlefield because it’s already on the field. You don’t double dip. You would only be able to have it enter as a creature if you flickered it

    • @TheSweetestAlyssum
      @TheSweetestAlyssum 24 дня назад +1

      You're correct about stuff already on the battlefield NOT triggering an ETB, they are already on the field; same with LTB, because they never left. Only the cards type is changing.
      Your friend would have to find a way to get their stuff to blink or flicker if they want a second dip.

    does anyone know how bellow interacts with stuff that costs (X)?

    • @Blundt91
      @Blundt91 2 дня назад

      cmc of X is always counted as 0cmc, regardless fo what you are paying for X or anything. so if you have a creature that costs X and 1 Green the cmc of this card will always be just 1. fun side fact: the cmc of a card normally cannot change. it doesn't matter if you have any tax reduction or if you pay any alternative costs. the cards printed cmc will nearly always be the same.
