When I was just a kid I had a neighbor next door that was in the Marines during OIF and he was the nicest guy! I remember he gave me a Cover that was way to big for me. He was killed in action in '04. Now I too am in the Marine Corps and I serve in the exact same unit that he did. Still got his old cover he gave me too!

At 17 I started seeing recruiters, signed up for the Air Force and was going to tell my family on my dads birthday. 2 months before, I was in a car wreck, shattered my knee, compound fractures in left femur, and lost spleen and part of my liver, killing any chance of my enlistment. I watched as friends went to basic, then to posts around the world. thank you all for your sacrifice...

This song makes me cry every time I hear it. As an Army wife, the fear of deployment is real. My husband was already deployed, and to have that happen again is unimaginable. It's hard to even talk about the future because it feels like taboo. My heart goes out to all the military families out there with loved ones deployed and the families who have suffered a great loss. I'm going into 11X (Infantry) for the U.S. Army. I'm about to go to basic in a week, and this song always gets me because I think about all the loved ones I'll be leaving. I think about my mother, father, and the one and only girl I have ever really loved. I know I'm doing a service for my country, but shit-I can't help but think if this was me. I'm proud to be joining the army, and I'm thankful to be part of something bigger than myself. Thank you to all who have served; I simply can't wait!

I turn 18 this October, the day of my birthday I am going to a recruiting office and signing up for the Army. Serving my country is my calling and what I know is right for me. I will be serving for all of you watching this video and all the past and present soldiers. Giving you back something you gave me as I grew up as a kid. My son , and 3 nephews , 2 nephews in Afghanistan today . The people that don't care about others who gave there lives to protect should go and join a branch to see what it is like I'm going and I know what could happen but I am willing to do what it takes to protect the ones I love and the ones who can't do it

Grew up on military bases, dad was a pilot always wanted to make it a legacy. At 17 I started seeing recruiters, signed up for the Air Force and was going to tell my family on my dads birthday. 2 months before, I was in a car wreck, shattered my knee, compound fractures in left femur, and lost spleen and part of my liver, killing any chance of my enlistment. I watched as friends went to basic, then to posts around the world. thank you all for your sacrifice...

I love the song and the video. I have family and friends in the armed forces and when i hear this song i stop what i am doing to pray, that there will be a time that we do not need to have soldiers and in till that time i am praying that they will be safe and be home soon.
