My husband used to sing this song to me when I was pregnant with our daughter. We chose to play it at his funeral. I had such a hard time listening to it after that but our daughter found a cd and brought it out to me the other night and it was her daddy singing to us. It was beautiful. She listens to it every single night before she goes to sleep.
@ Dani Leigh Burgess i’m shocked that I’ve never heard this song before. Now whenever I listen to it I’ll always remember your comment. It truly brought tears to my eyes. I’m so sorry for your (and your daughters) loss. God bless you. Sending you love, light, peace, and prayers. 💞💫✌️🙏🥰
I am so very sorry for your loss, you have my heartfelt prayers and condolences.Thank you so very much for your husband's service, dedication and commitment to our country to ensure our freedoms. He has my respect, gratitude and honor!!!:)
Its so nice. Its hard I got a fiancée in Syria. I Had see him once.. nd I pray that he returns home. As I sent him this to his fellow brothers that were killed.. such memories.
I say this with the utmost respect to you. It is only through profound loss that we can appreciate the depth of our love 💘. When I hear this song I will always think of you and what it means to serve ❤ Lacey ⚘❤
Makes me cry every time I hear this BEAUTIFUL PATROTIC SONG, ALL PATRIOTIC SONGS !! My Family has long history of Veterans. My Dad was a World W2 Veteran ,one of my Uncles one of my Dads Brothers died in WW2. I KNOW many Vietnam veterans some here some passed, my ex husband passed!! My PATRIOTIC SOUL will never die!! GOD BLESS ALL THAT HAVE SERVED, PASSED AND ARE SUFFERING AND GOD BLESS THERE FAMILIES!!
To anyone who gives this a thumbs down you should thank a veteran for your right to do so. We leave our families and put our lives on the line so you have the rights that you have
100% agree! My son is 16 and he is living for his 18th birthday to enlist in the United State Marine Corp. I am also the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran and the Granddaughter of a WWII Veteran! Thank you all for everything you have done and continue to do for us!
People please if u don't have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all.. These Are BRAVE SOLDIER'S going out there to fight for us.. My Grandfather and Uncle were Soldiers both died in out there but they died with their heads held HIGH.. GOD BLESS U ALL
I know I am a few years late responding but I just want to say thank you for your respect for those who have bravely served this country I wish we saw more of it. My great grandfather, my grandfather, my brother in law have all served and my sister is in the process of talking to recruiters now. I want to serve our country but the military isn't for me so I decided to use my brain instead and work for the dod as a civilian not the same thing but someone has to do that job.
Freedom is never free it is paid for by the brave men and women who are willing to die for their country so the rest of us can remain free. God Bless them.
My dad is in Afghanistan, and for the longest time I couldn't listen to this song without sobbing. Now I can listen to it without tears and it gives me a sense of peace. Thanks, Tim McGraw
I love this song and it makes me cry every time I hear it. God Bless the soldiers that risk their lives everyday to protect us and their country. I can't even imagine what they have to go through. These soldiers have families. They have wives. They have kids. Yet, somehow, they leave that behind for our country. Their bravery gives me hope.
To all the men and women who serve for us--THANK YOU!!!! We're praying for all of you! For those who didn't make it home, you gave everything...The only way I can thank you is to keep praying. Godspeed to you all.
I thank every man and woman in uniform fighting for our country and our freedom. My Marine just left for deployment and I pray he comes home safe with all of his buddies. I love you baby.
My Big brother was in the war and died but when i hear this it reminds me of how much he has helped the country thanx for posting you must really appreciate life your family should be really proud of you. Im 18 but this song really opened my eyes toward life and i hope many people understand each other better and appreciate life and their families. :D
I love this song, it brings a lot of meaning to be since Im currently an Army cadet, and me and some friends are going to join the C.A. after we graduate, as strong as I am, this song still makes me cry since I know a few people in the armed forces, and my great grandpa died in WW2...... Support our troops
i love this song, one of Tim McGraw best in my opinion! :) Thank you to all of the soldiers who have given their live for our country, we all greatly appreciate it!
This song always makes me cry because i think about not only the fallen soldiers but the soldiers who are overseas right now that are risking their lives for our freedoms and those men and women know that they might not ever see their families again but they go and fight for our country anyway GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!!!
God bless the United States armed forces. I respect every soldier with pure passion. Our statue still stands for freedom. I respect the Confederate flag and the American flag.Amen July 26th 2021
My Best friend since we were babies (He is 3 years older than me) We used to play army when we were kids, He just enlisted in the US Army. I will Follow behind him in 2 years. God Speed Jacob, Stay safe my friend. God bless the United States and God Bless our troops.
I'm 12 and my older brothers are 21 and 22. They're in the Air Force and Army. Both are engaged. They'll be going out of the U.S and to be honest I'm scared. With no one to talk to about it, I feel alone. I listen to this song and think of all the good times we had when they were home. Now I wish I could have those days back. I cry at night, when I wake up, and during class because I'm afraid I'll get a call saying that I lost them both.
This reminds me of my whole family. Me, my sister, brother, dad, both grandfathers, great grandfathers and recorded up to the 1200's. Me my brother and sister are the only active but not one of our friends would ever disrespect us. Yet we see people hate us all over the place. Especially my sister. Why? I don't believe we are doing anything wrong ( and no, us Marines are not baby killers). But thank you McGraw for your military tributes.
I couldn't listen to this either when my brother was over there but he's back. Best day of my life with no exaggeration was watching him walk off that plane. Regardless of political or religious affiliations, anyone is a fool to feel like we don't need military support. And at the end of the day, my brother was just doing his job. Fighting for freedom, cuz ask Russia and China among others, it ain't free.
