Hey Y'all, This is a great song. I can't put into words all the feelings I have about this song. I was in the army 17 years as a medic and nurse. The last 15 years I worked I was a hospice nurse and so so many of my patients were veterans. I did have the honor to walk all these folks home. I did attend all the military funerals I could. I cared for POW's of several wars, folks that worked with NASA, doctors, lawyers, displaced and homeless folks. God was my boss and where ever He sent me I went and He came with me. My constant prayer was to never let it be about Me. I don't know where y'all live but I would encourage you to google VA National Cemeteries and visit one and get out and walk around and spend a few moments just sitting or standing still. Christmas is a wonderful time if you have snow and wreaths on the headstones. God bless y'all take care, Steven

There is an HBO movie called "Taking Chance" if you want more information about military funerals, it is the TRUE story about 1 Marine who was killed in combat in Iraq. and his journey home to be buried, it is a very good movie and one that I think that you would appreciate, told from the perspective of the Marine who volunteered to take him home to his family.
He was right on both counts as far as the plane goes. In war that is called “chafe and redirect. When fallen soldiers are on the flight it is the way they make it look like an angel, and it is called an angel flight. There is a song about it.
That air craft is AC 1 30 basically it’s called in for troops that are danger close! Plus it depends on what unit you are in but you write these letters before you leave along with your wishes! I do believe Tim McGraw has a friend in the military also he might be retired by now!

Memorial Day is to remember the fallen
Veterans Day is to thank the veterans
Labor Day is to thank the blue collar working class.
For some really *fun* country songs, react to Toby Keith's "How Do You Like Me Now" and/or "As Good As I Once Was"
Toss some joy in Old School Toby Keith...let the dude breathe..at least don't let him be a Glass drinker
Watch pray for ypu by Jarod and the long road home

This song reminds me of my death letter I wrote with all the other soldiers on my team but I had to deliver 1 to my best friends wife and mother.
