If you’ve been watching our videos, you know that we cover a wide bunch of animated shows and movies, but they’re usually on the lighter side concerning characters and story. Well, we wanted to change things up a little considering that Halloween was just around the corner and we didn’t want to miss out on the fun. With that said, you better not be watching this alone in pitch black darkness, and in case you get spooked, you can’t say we didn’t warn you. And for those of you who love horror, you’re gonna love this one. I’m Keegan with Channel Frederator and these are 107 facts about Coraline.

Another fun fact: Coraline wears dragonfly hair clipper, assuming that’s it’s her favorite bug. We can remember, that spiders don’t eat dragonflies. I think other mother didn’t expect Coraline being strong as dragonfly
Noice
I wish I believed she got out. I can’t unsee it
@@shoggy1713she did got out..
also dragonflys symbolize being able to travel thru different dimensions
I feel the utmost respect for the people who worked on stop motion movies, it all looks hard and complicated yet you can see how devoted and passionate they are with making the whole production. I'm very impressed ❤
You can tell it’s the kind of work you take pride in
@@SunnyyDayzz Right??
Yes
@@SunnyyDayzz pride in? You mean be happy to finish it
That could’ve been Ben
Two facts you missed.
The Detroit Zoo snow globe actually didn't exist at the time when the movie was released, but it inspired the real Detroit Zoo to actually make and sell them.
"Beldam" is also an anagram of "Bad Mel", referencing that she's an evil version of Mel Jones.
Wouldn’t that fall under trademarked laws and they wouldn’t be allowed to sell them because of the movie or is there something I’m missing?!
@@ssj4gogeta130The snowglobe was made in the likeness of the Detroit Zoo. They can't claim the rights to the snowglobe like that.
Imagine you make a t-shirt for a new show and suddenly that show no longer has rights to print their own t-shirts anymore because you did.
Here's another fact! The tools in the Other Mother's sewing kit are actually embalming tools used in preparing a body for a funeral.
Here’s another fact! The tools in the Other Mother’s sewing kit are actually embalming tools used in preparing a body for a funeral.
Coraline's concept is very intriguing and creative. Kid's movie or not, it's a masterpiece.
Coraline has WAYYYY more details than I thought it did. I love it
The concept of the Other Mother being a Spider might also borrow from the poem line "Walk into my Parlor, Said the spider to the fly"
That poem is called The Spider and the Fly.
That makes sense. Coraline DID confront the Other Mother in the parlor
Coraline is one of my favorite movies of all time, so learning more about the film makes me love it so much more💕
Oh, a Coraline video? You have my attention. One of my favorite movies.
One of mine too!
Something crazy, just watched your vid from 7 years ago about Nightmare before Christmas, and I looked up to see if you had one about coraline just to see YOU JUST POSTED IT AN HOUR AGO!
The story was written for his oldest daughter, and half way through he had some personal issues and took a break.
By the time he got back to work, his oldest wasn't interested, but his youngest daughter was.
So basically, he wrote the book for his daughters
Oregonian here with a slight correction: This video implies that Laika studios is located in Ashland, which is incorrect. Laika is located in Hillsboro, a suburb outside of Portland. Portland is in the northwest of Oregon, while Ashland is in the south of Oregon and a good 4.5 hours away from the Portland metropolitan area :)
It is implied but when he mentions Ashland, Oregon he DOES say the "state" where the studio is located.
Yeah. Infinity Train, Gravity Falls, The Owl House and Amphibia are so light hearted.
Both versions of the story is absolutely terrifying
My brother and I enjoy doing stop motion, but it takes a LOT of patience to have it look as good it did in the movie coraline. I grew up watching this movie and it has always been my favorite, thanks for all of these fun-facts!
I LOVE CORALINE its bloody Epic and she is a Fighter.
Respect and keep up the epic work.
i was nervous to click on this video because i thought i would know everything on the list, but i was pleasantly surprised to discover new things i didn’t know
One of my favorite movies of all time, right next to fantastic Mr fox. They hold a special spot in my heart, they used to be real comfort watches for me. If only all my DVDs were missing lol.
Ah Coraline, one of the few stop motion films i like! that and ParaNorman because admittedly i'm not that big a fan of stop motion stuff i mean i don't hate it but i appreciate it. because like all animation stop-motion is an art.
oh god oh no what have you done now I'm stuck here for a half an hour
Coraline is the most nightmare fuel I've had in my childhood, until now
I can't begin to imagine the heartbreak if a fire had broken out in that studio while everyone was out to lunch.

Okay I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed her dad looked like Ted Rami.
Nice vid.
Another fact: The Simpsons once parody Coraline movie In Treehouse Of Horror XXVIII back in 2017 title Coralisa, where Lisa Simpson played the role of Coraline and Snowball as The Cat where it voice by Neil Gaiman (The Author of the book). The other world of The Simpson are 3D rather Stop Motion with some of character design try to replicate Coraline character design, like Homer face closely similar to Coraline' Dad Charlie.
Another one linking to 104, you can see the jacket of the little boy in the painting, shoes and the hat of the ghost children’s in the tunnel when Coraline escapes and it’s all dusty and covered in cobwebs.
This video and channel is amazing
Yes it is!
Your welcome I don't know how to do that
Please do corpse bride facts next 🙏
I believe the "Button Eyes" stake would've been more Intense if Other mother was a WW2 nurse. Having medical experience/knowledge, even if outdated, in Coralines modern timeline, is genuinely unnerving. Image Other Mother chasing after Coraline with a sedative or other anaesthetic tools while climbing up the web; Or showing Coraline the medical instruments after showing her the buttons in the gift box, Shivers!
If you're going to do a 107 facts video for another LAIKA movie, might I suggest ParaNorman and The Boxtrolls?
Still one of my most favorite movies to this day
Just saw Coraline first time few weeks ago loved the movie

Beldame also means in french « Belle dame » which means beautiful lady as she is portrayed in the movie as the flawless version of her real mother.
Beldame also means in french > which means beautiful lady as she is portrayed in the movie as the flawless
I went to school at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon so I recognized some of the scenery in the film. Ashland is like a cool kitsch type of city and very artsy. I loved my time there.
Do 107 on wolfwalkers
This is one of my favourites!
This movie was mu nightmare fuel for my entire childhood
I cannot believe how much detail went into this movie 😍
There's only one Coraline fact that matters and that is the book is better

Adder Stones are also known as Seer Stones. Ancient Hebrew religion and mythology refer to a pair of Seer Stones called Urim and Thummim attached to a breastplate used by Moses and the Hebrew High Priests he anointed and the generations of priests that follow after them for the purpose of Cleromancy (a form of Divination/Revelation through a process similar to casting lots/using randomizing devices like dice).
I think they should make a live version of Coraline

I will say, Coraline is one of my favorite stop motion films. And probably tied with The LEGO Movie in terms of my favorite stop motion film of all time. And both of which are high up in terms of my favorite movies ever made.
Now in terms of a live adaptation of Coraline? I’m not sure how that would’ve turned out. But who knows maybe in the far future, some studio will adapt the book into live action.
the lego movie was made with cgi not stop motion
We got a faker.

Another interesting little tidbit is that in the scene where the tunnel to the other world is filled with toys and clothes of kids who dropped stuff you can see part of a shirt that is like exactly the same as the blue boy.
I feel like a coraline live action would be terrifying
Coraline was actually based off the author’s daughter who made a story similar to this and he made a story about that. The book was made for his daughter

Great video! Omg the Michigan state sweater is nearly identical to the one Linda wears in The Evil Dead, also didn’t know the dad was modeled after Ted Raimi! Clearly showing the evil dead some respect by reference😍
