Good advice. If you're on holiday and want to make every moment count, you should really be in central Pattaya. If you're there for a month/permanently then you're not under time pressure and Pratamnak or Jomtien is worth considering. If you don't have a motorbike license (or use one regularly) in your own country, learning to ride one anywhere in South East Asia where the rules of the road are different, is asking for trouble and is unnecessary. If you have the right travel buddy then you'll have the best time, but you won't know if they're the right travel buddy until you're there. Travelling with the wrong travel buddy can be a real pain so solo is 100% better.
@@welshboywebby I believe "The Hard Rock Cafe Hotel" isn't guest friendly. Most hotels will make some 'vailed' info on their website clarifying whether they're guest friendly or not.
Some great advice for newbies there Webby. Can i just add the 1st thing to do, is to download these apps as they are a must. Bolt, grab, and google translate. Without those, i would have been lost. Also, the best thing i ever did, which might be a bit controversial, was just do everything myself. People say go on crawls etc to see what happens and how people do things which is good advice too. I obviously watched a lot of videos and listened to youtubers who gave advice, but i just wanted to jump in feet 1st to see if i swam or sunk. I wanted all the 1st time feelings you only get by doing it this way, both the mistakes, which are funny stories later , and the great times. Glad i did it this way as i thought it was the best way to learn about Pattaya

mate my wife and kids first went to Koh Samui 25 years ago and since then been quiet a few places over Thailand. First tried Pattaya probably 15 years ago due to weather being shite in Samui thought we would give it a go and mate we have never looked back. My wife and i love it and everything about it what an amazing place nothing you cannot get to eat or drink great people and reasonably priced i hate Europe compared to Thailand. Welshy you have made the best decision you will ever make by making the move
I friend just to say about baht bus doesn't work like you say yes get in and when you get out you paid the driver 10baht (0.30usd) and that is the price for many many years now they didn't raise and it will stay like that.🙏🙏
Im an regular Pattaya person since 1994, But Soi 6 every time ive been got ripped off with the Girls so don't really like it. last year I visited Jomtien a lot more for drinks its far cheaper than Pattaya.

Good advice, we stayed in central and was definitely the best place. Imo soi6 is the best place on earth, though I would say try walking street once, anything beyond that is bad as it's a huge rip off. Biggest mistake I made in Pattaya was gogo's, they were too expensive for my liking. Soi6 and gents clubs for me was the best thing by far.

Most safety deposit boxes are safe as in the room. That's why you get the women to hand in the id card when they leave your room That's when you check everything before reception give them there id card back they ring upto you to ask is everything OK. That's why you check everything if its all good they give them there id card back.
If you take a friend back to your room at night and your drunk never open your safe 99.9% of the girls won't steal off u but don't leave cash or anything of value in open sight . I've taken 100s of girls back to my room over my 20 years and all I have ever lost was a small bottle of aftershave 😂

I came for the first time in June, great weather and I had a great time. I spent the most of my last three days in Pattaya in Jomtien and even as a 25 year old had a great a time there. Maybe I am coming at a bad time but ill be returning the end of this month. Made some great friends in Jomtien. One of them has actually been teaching me Russian on WhatsApp since I was there 😂.
Walking st just didn't do it for me i Walked up there a couple of times to fake for me i didn't even buy 1 drinks there i always travel on my pat Malone pattaya very safe no one hassled me the Phillipines is more dangerous but if your street smart your ok learn to say no and you will be fine i will be back next year 😊😊😊
I don't really know what to say about Soi6....I imagine that tell to a firstimer to go to Soi6 is the same than telling to a white guy to go to the Bronx you saw in the movies in the 80"s with a bit gold chain on the neck :) I am sorry but i contradict you about "not making plans". I really suggest you to make plans and if possible, stick to them even if you did meet "the best woman in your life". 1) thailand has much to offer and not only pattaya 2) the 3 day rule and possible financial disaster. And again, i find myself contradicting you. You did go to thailand for 15 years and you know this things but if you are doing a video for firstimers, you should think like one. Is pattaya safe: Pickpocket people are everywhere even in Pattaya so inform yourself how to protect yourself from them. Don't show "luxury" with a big gold chain, rolex at your arm or the problems will find you. The same applies to say/show how much money you have even unintentionally example when paying something and letting somebody see you have a lot more money in your pocket. Drink with moderation, it is a foreign country and the way home is probably long and sure not flat as you had at home especially if you are alone. Next, whatever happens, stay calm and don't loose your temper and become loud or agressive. Last but not least, never go to a ping-pong show on the upper floor of walking street if you are not ready to spend a lot of money. Other security would be to inform yourself before hand about prices or at least compare them between places. OMG! .... actually not really. Yes, was talking about contradicting you about the mamasan. You are absolutely right that you need to be able to say no in Pattaya and that is one of the motives why i said that you should make plans and stick to them. About the mamasan itself, i think you have to differenciate between somebody going to thailand just for 2 weeks or somebody living there and probably getting to know that person and if you will get something in return or not. I had actually a papasan in a bar closed forever in WS that offred me many drinks like it was happy hour all night long many years ago. I ordered 1 beer and got 2 where 1 was for free and that all night long so i naturally pay for him as well or at least barfined a girl or 2 as thanks. As opposite, last years i was there for my birthday and spend 20-30k over 2-3 nights in drinks and barfines where many drinks have gone to mamasan and even the owner....well, i got only once a round of drinks for 3 people in those 2-3 nights for free from the owner. So yes, at the end as a rule especially if you come here just for holiday and the first time, i would say don't pay for mamasan unless something comes your way first. There are places that are not guest friendly in Pattaya but the one i know for sure (some years back) is not in the region where foreigners normally live. That place was so bad because I actually said at the checkin that my GF would join me later and when she came, they said no and not let her in. Other places, talking about a place near the pattaya hospital in soi buakao that i saw in another video the other day, one guest was free, starting from the second up it was 200THB / person. I am not sure but i think Siam@Siam (near soi 2) was payed guest only some years back. So i would not really exclude this topic from the discussion. Better ask as be sorry :) I have to smile about when you say that if somebody goes there, he will always come back. I am not sure like you are. I go to thailand since 30 years and the past 10 years or so, have always been a love / hate situation. Mostly i go to thailand because it is easy for me, I know thailand, how to go around, i can speak thai and usually only book a plane ticket but sorry, talking about the women / bars / gogo's, it is not the same anymore and talking soi6 or WS, it is not worth the money anymore. I can get much more for the same money in my country. Maybe i will hit you up the beginning of next month when i am there and you can show me around Jomtien / Gentleman clubs that I never really frequented. I would like to explore the dark side as well as a plan :p
My own experience I probably think the girls are more friendlier if you say or they think its your first time because they think everything is new to you and they find you more interesting.

pattaya is good the first time but after 5 trips there i know how the place works and im not coming back .food is cheap your drink is cheap but no longer cheap for ladys and drinks bar fines seen other places in asia now on utube that seem alot cheaper now .pattaya was good first few visits but not anymore and the quality of girls no longer there.

I came for the first time in June, great weather and I had a great time. I spent the most of my last three days in Pattaya in Jomtien and even as a 25 year old had a great a time there. Maybe I am coming at a bad time but ill be returning the end of this month. Made some great friends in Jomtien. One of them has actually been teaching me Russian on WhatsApp since I was there 😂.

Walking st just didn't do it for me i Walked up there a couple of times to fake for me i didn't even buy 1 drinks there i always travel on my pat Malone pattaya very safe no one hassled me the Phillipines is more dangerous but if your street smart your ok learn to say no and you will be fine i will be back next year

I am sorry but i contradict you about "not making plans". I really suggest you to make plans and if possible, stick to them even if you did meet "the best woman in your life".
1) thailand has much to offer and not only pattaya 2) the 3 day rule and possible financial disaster.
And again, i find myself contradicting you. You did go to thailand for 15 years and you know this things but if you are doing a video for firstimers, you should think like one.
Is pattaya safe: Pickpocket people are everywhere even in Pattaya so inform yourself how to protect yourself from them.
Don't show "luxury" with a big gold chain, rolex at your arm or the problems will find you. The same applies to say/show how much money you have even unintentionally example when paying something and letting somebody see you have a lot more money in your pocket.
Drink with moderation, it is a foreign country and the way home is probably long and sure not flat as you had at home especially if you are alone.
Next, whatever happens, stay calm and don't loose your temper and become loud or agressive. Last but not least, never go to a ping-pong show on the upper floor of walking street if you are not ready to spend a lot of money.
Other security would be to inform yourself before hand about prices or at least compare them between places.

You are absolutely right that you need to be able to say no in Pattaya and that is one of the motives why i said that you should make plans and stick to them.
About the mamasan itself, i think you have to differenciate between somebody going to thailand just for 2 weeks or somebody living there and probably getting to know that person and if you will get something in return or not.
I had actually a papasan in a bar closed forever in WS that offred me many drinks like it was happy hour all night long many years ago. I ordered 1 beer and got 2 where 1 was for free and that all night long so i naturally pay for him as well or at least barfined a girl or 2 as thanks. As opposite, last years i was there for my birthday and spend 20-30k over 2-3 nights in drinks and barfines where many drinks have gone to mamasan and even the owner....well, i got only once a round of drinks for 3 people in those 2-3 nights for free from the owner.
So yes, at the end as a rule especially if you come here just for holiday and the first time, i would say don't pay for mamasan unless something comes your way first.
There are places that are not guest friendly in Pattaya but the one i know for sure (some years back) is not in the region where foreigners normally live.
That place was so bad because I actually said at the checkin that my GF would join me later and when she came, they said no and not let her in.
Other places, talking about a place near the pattaya hospital in soi buakao that i saw in another video the other day, one guest was free, starting from the second up it was 200THB / person.
I am not sure but i think Siam@Siam (near soi 2) was payed guest only some years back.
So i would not really exclude this topic from the discussion. Better ask as be sorry :)

I go to thailand since 30 years and the past 10 years or so, have always been a love / hate situation.
Mostly i go to thailand because it is easy for me, I know thailand, how to go around, i can speak thai and usually only book a plane ticket but sorry, talking about the women / bars / gogo's, it is not the same anymore and talking soi6 or WS, it is not worth the money anymore. I can get much more for the same money in my country.
Maybe i will hit you up the beginning of next month when i am there and you can show me around Jomtien / Gentleman clubs that I never really frequented.
I would like to explore the dark side as well as a plan :p

pattaya is good the first time but after 5 trips there i know how the place works and im not coming back .food is cheap your drink is cheap but no longer cheap for ladys and drinks bar fines seen other places in asia now on utube that seem alot cheaper now .pattaya was good first few visits but not anymore and the quality of girls no longer there.

Everywhere is expensive now, nothing's cheap anymore, you can get laid for a 1000 baht in Pattaya what's that about £23, you try getting the same thing in Japan or Las Vegas, no Thailand still cheap as chips in my humble opinion.

Great vlog Steve nice overview for a newby coming to Thailand.Our daughter came here when she was 10 years old 1995 and has been many times to Thailand with us is now coming over at Xmas with our 3 teenage grandchildren for a month.My 18 year old nephew came here with mam and dad in 2005.I took him down soi 6 to run the gauntlet he was fit as fuck good looking kid. I shouted out in Thai that he was a virgin.Thai lady shouted back “He can have me for free “.I was fucking pissing myself.I said I was a virgin to they just said you papa 😂😂
