The worst thing is sit out in the sun.
For crying out loud.
Get out of he sun.
it was a cloudy day otherwise wouldn,t have been sat there

Glad to hear you made a full recovery Mick. Re the mosquitos they dont bother me as much as they used to but they carry a greater risk than antbites. A few years back I got Denghy fever from a mozzy bite and beleive me its not something you would want, I pretty much lost 4 days where I blowing hot and cold aching in every part of my doy couldnt eat had the most horrendous headache etc, so yes the mozzies seem to bite less but when they do theres a huge chance you will be ill. You can become ill anywhere in the world - a few months back all of a sudden i found it difficult to breath, started shivering and had what I can only decribe as a 5 hour long panic attack, turns out it was some kind of 12 hour virus and I've been fine since but it was not good at the time and quite scary. Went to the doctors for tests had to wait for 3 hours to get an appointment and then sent to hospital for scans which took another 4 hours so by the time i had done was a whole day, thats here in the UK so no different to Thailand apart from I didnt need insurance here to pay for it. There are many trade offs to living in the land of smiles compared to the UK and needing helth ionsurance is just 1 of them as is the heat and the bugs but generall the cost of us living in our house in Khaosuankwang is around 60 to 70% less than here in Yorkshire so thats a good trade off the other way.
totally agree about cost of living here in thailand, but the heart can be intense i loved my walks in uk but cant do them here
this what i got totally unexpected but now feel fine
the ants really bug me you cant leave anything food wise about, i once put food down for a minute then eat it complete with ants which bit me in my mouth, well it looked like i had rubber lips stuck on me
Get tested for staph. Nasal swab
Try getting up at 4 or 5am at the latest, I do and take long walks around the rice fields, most mornings at that time temp is ok. Ref ants problem, just draw a circle around the plate, table leg etc the ants will not cross the line. Any black board type chalk will do the trick.
Dengue fever also called break bone fever. A problem in many parts of the world.
Another one.....
Hi Mick, fellow Rorherhamite! Although lived on Jersey for the past 30 years. Fell upon your channel and heard your accent, it was a delight to hear! Shame your not a little nearer, living in Chiang Mai. Would have been great to meet you for a coffee or beer. You've got yourself another sub to your excellent channel.
@GaryTurner-py4ic thanks for that I do travel chaing mai is on my list
I'll take you up on the coffee soon 😏
Another Yorkie having resided in Jersey for 38 years
Almost ten in Issan now...
Hi Charles, you've had a fair share of Jersey too. I bet you miss parts of Jersey? Do you head to Chiang Mai occasionally or to settled in Issan?
@@GaryTurner-py4ic I don't miss Jersey at all
Had a great time there, but all long forgotten now
Been Chiang Mai three times but an away trip for us is down to the beach in Jomtien
Not many people know this but the mosquito is the most dangerous animal in the world causing most deat* and sickness in the world.
@nattm6553 little bleeders
I’d of sat in the shade but nice views and relaxing.
Give him some slack , even though there is a canopy on the side car the sassenach is braving the possibility of heat stroke just so that we can all realise how hot it is.😅
Hope you are feeling better. Good wishes ❤
yes thanks alot better
cheers
Another Yorkie here ( Mirfield)
Living just darn road from ya in Roiet Province..
Actually an hour art on city in Kaset Wisai..

You sit in the sun and say how hot it is, while Thais stay in the shadow and aircon rooms if they can.
dont like sat under aircon gives you alsorts of problems besides it was a cloudy day
thanks for comment
@@thaitraveller9756 well, at least I was not swesting while watching the video then and reading ur comment today, beacuse i was in a 23 Celsius aircon Room.
Know expats that spends most of the time I air-con environment.
Their bodies don't acclimate to the climate and any of the. Can't even step outside.. And are sick from different aircon sick problems..
Get down Pitt Lad!! And downdt pub!!
@@briancuthbert4508 eh up thee oreight
Just about everything and anything will either get you sick or broke in Thailand 😂
@@JourneyinThailand you could be right there
Mick, you banged on with so much negativity, i am surprised you stay here. Where you sat by the river, of course you were hot and sweaty sat there in the sun, did you not think to sit in the cool shade of your rot sam law behind you? First rule, always seek available shade!!!
first time sat there i only did something different, what was the negativity its just my experience, first time for everything
Ok but for next time, note my golden rule, always find shade to sit in. !!!
@@plugsykelly1455 sophisticated rule. Thanks for sharing.
@@plugsykelly1455 it wasn,t all that sunny it was cloudy otherwise wouldn,t have sat there
My partner worked in the paddies i bought her a jacket that holds water / frozen or chilled, and it is insulated , maybe try one of these so you can enjoy your walks or get up before the sun gets too high in the sky.
What was the final diagnosis of your health problem?
I assume you have medical insurance, or else it would have been cheaper to go back to the UK.
@bravefart1000 I like my walks but like to be casual just teashirt and shorts
You can't escape the heat it's even jot at night
As regards my health don't khow it was a virus or bacteria but I couldn't move
After 2 days of treatment I could move only my left arm was weak
When I got back to village had a massage from a women trained in Sweden she could tell what was wrong and sorted my arm out now its fine
Medically they thought I would need an operation but now fine
The whole treatment was 17000 bht and well looked after in hospital for 2 days
Only got accident insurance health insurance is expensive for my age so it's something considering and getting more information
Thanks for comment
I know what that is like in regards to the virus/bacteria. I started slowly coughing up a little blood now and then but put it down to my bronchitis and extreme coughing.
But after getting a camera down inside my lungs , it was discovered that I have fungal bacteria growing in my right lung, and it will continue to spread. If I stayed in Australia, it would have gotten worse due to the cold weather. My specialist recommended that i move to a warmer humid climate .
Voila here I am in Hua Hin for last 13 months with my Thai partner of 4 years. Do you follow or have seen Steady Eddie on RUclips another sassenach . Cheers
Did you have insurance for your hospital stay
no but it was very cheap, the problem comes if you have a long term thing like cancer, but then then they will treat you once and not again for the same things, its swings and roundabouts when you get to a certain age
thanks for comment
Who do you use for health insurance?
haven,t got any but looking into it
it was cheaper just going to hospital, unless you have a serious condition but then after the first time cover they will not cover you again for same thing, its your choice
thanks for comment
Strewth...doom and gloom
better now yes?
WHAT medical insurance do you have loks like awd
dont have any but it was very cheap everything 17500 bht, but looking into getting cover but that
s not cheap after 60
thanks for comment
waffel
Another case of it wasn't the Magic Juice you took during the last 4yrs! Depending on how many you took, it might be too late!😎😎😎
dont drink much at all maybe acouplle of bottles a week and dont smoke do a lot of walking
this was first time in hospital, could have been worse but now fine
it was just one of them thai things you get in this climate
thanks for comment
I am from Rotherham
originally from sheffield
Wear a hat man!
Where are you from pal are you from Yorkshire
sheffield now near khon kaen
so what is your age, we aussies are used to the heat so it does not bother us, actually its hotter in aus !
I lived in Australia for 53 years, and yes the there may be hotter individual days, but when the heat and " humidity " is practically 365 days of the year that is what tends to get to people. There is no relief like a cold winter / spring or autumn here , the rainy season may not be as hot but generally around 30C every day.
67 now 68 in november but i do keep myself active dont drink much or smoke
in uk never go to to hospital lucky really
