Glad to hear that immigration in your province is easy to deal with. I'm still in Bangkok (where I got my retirement visa), but I tried extending my visa exempt status by 30 days once in Loei (before I got my retirement visa) because my GF lives there and I was staying there for a few weeks in a hotel. Anyway, immigration there was not easy to deal with, and they wouldn't let me extend my visa exemptby 30 days (which is normally a trivial thing to do, done it before in Bangkok) simply because they said the owner of the hotel I was staying at (big 4 star hotel that I booked through Expedia) hadn't property filled out my TM30 and that the owner's ID for the TM30 system was out of date in the immigration system. No idea why they chose to victimize me over some spat between the hotel owner in Loei and the immigration office there, but it was a big hassle. I had to do an unplanned border hop to Loas instead (which was suggested by the immigration official in Loei). So... I suspect some of the rural province immigration offices are easier to deal with than others.

Good to see your update n review on the ADV150 here I’ve always rented a PCX or Click as stick with Honda wen in Thailand as the most popular brand. I like the more rugged look of the ADV even tho same engine as PCX…but looks better suspension too for a bit of off roading…. I’ll try renting one when there nxt time to see how it rides & running costs etc…ADV150/160 more then enough for me.🤔😉🛵😎

Hi mate have a great time camping. We are going to Khon kaen next January I think to start our house in the village about 20 minutes north Khon Kaen near Namphong I am like you I love the village life the people and family are so nice. Have fun camping ⛺️

Village life is better than the city I am down the road in roi et wouldn't swap it for the world

So many people go to Thailand and ride motorcycles and do not bother to read the conditions of health or travel insurance. My travel insurance that I use for travel will only insure up to 150cc, I am sure I can buy extra protection insurance for larger bikes but 150cc in Thailand is more than big and fast enough to kill myself especially in the city traffic. Most also do not bother having the right licence and international driving permit or a Thailand driver's licence if in Thailand long term, which of course I am sure you have that, but I am talking "most tourists" and of course without that correct licence the insurance is worthless and may not pay out! They really crazy Farang ride without a quality helmet, you know the type that have been crash tested and not those cheap and nasty Thai helmets! Stay safe!

While i love the NMAX or Forza 350 for the comfort on long trips, inside a bissy city they are to big to sneak by cars in traffic jams. Best solution proabbly is to have a bike that fits bigger trips and in adittion to have a small scooter for the daily trips to the market and whatnot

Good choice. I'm also very happy with smaller bikes (scooters) than with big bikes. I had big bikes here in Finland and droves around Europe. But in vacation in Thailand absolutely smaller bike. So practical and as you said so light with good capasity for stuff. Easy to navigate through traffic jam. I always rent (if possible) Forza 350cc or ADV 350cc. -Cheers-

Have you considered 'Roof tent's ' ? They are very quick to assemble and would give you the option to leave the bike in the back of the truck while sleeping in the roof tent.

Any change to your VISA with respect to money should be done at the renewal time. Immigration are perfectly correct to have done what they did. You effectively changed the terms & conditions for VISA requirements. Always best to check with Immigration prior to doing anything.

Shouldnt really make a difference but in Thailand they do like the red tape, Therefore makes everything more difficult than in the west. Glad you pointed this out as I may have made the same mistake when I come over, Think I will just stick with transfering money over monthly as the can't go below 400k baht is a piss take, basically saying you cant use your own money. I mean what if theres an emergency and you need access to those funds , basically you lose the right to your next visa and have to start all over again. Bureacracy rules in the land of smiles , to be honest that is my biggest pet hate of the place, but its always worth the hassle in the end.Look forward to your next video mate.

Hi Mick, lol if it’s a O/A visa you need proof of insurance and O VISA YOU DONT. The 90 days is normal then you get your 12 month visa giving 15 months. The 800,000 has to be in your account 2moths before application and 3 months after, you can’t drop below 400,000 baht. Always ask immigration before making any changes to your visa.
