Great tips! Sometimes women's jeans look great everywhere except the waist and butt grrrrr! I've been researching how to fix that and might delve into the flute region next on a pair of expendable jeans to see if I can do this! Thank you!
With respect, your camera was really close to your task so it was a little difficult (for me) to differentiate along the way where you were on your pants, might have been a little clearer if the camera were a little farther back. Obviously you do what works for you but just throwing out a perspective xo

This is a great presentation. Since I had drafted my own trousers, I use the pattern to adjust the curve, never thinking could pin without sticking myself and unsure get good results. Now know different, appreciated.

I don't get it. Is he taking in just the lower part of the back seam down to the sweat patch or the inside leg seams at the top? The latter would presumably tighten the area at the bottom of the seat. Or is my geometry wrong.

I can't remember if i asked before, but is there an "order of operations" to consider when altering the seat, crotch, rise, taper and length?
I like doing crotch, seat, taper then length. As long as you do length last you'll be fine.

Lots of good information. I have been having issues with my work pants. I had the seat taken in and the thread keeps ripping and the outside seam (the part taken in) rips while the original seam is intact. The pants are not tight and I have dress pants that are wayy tighter. Any ideas on why? My tailor stated that nylon is cheaper so not as strong as it was🙄.

I have another query, not sure if you've covered it..i've bought a couple of (light, unlined) coats online which i love, but they are a little long in the shoulder (just too big i guess!). I’d love to know how to fix the giant baggy crotch lol as a short person, all the pants I find have literally a 12” long crotch, halfway to my knees. I tried hemming from the inside knee to the crotch to the other inside knee but that didn’t fit right either 🤦🏼♀️ can you do a video on this?

How do you fix womens dress pants that make your butt look flat.
How much is too much to downsize a pair of men's khaki's? We have several pairs of size 40 but need to alter to about a 36 in waist, butt and crotch. We moved from US to Norway 5 years ago for husband's job and just trying to avoid buying new because these were only worn a few times.
Tammy Skaggs that wouldn’t be very hard to achieve. It might be more in the classic side of fit. But can be done.
Too bad you don't cover the double seam seat because I'm holding my son's jeans I need to hem and alter and they have that double stitched, tacked down seam. Uggh... I guess he can just have a baggy butt as long as the legs are taken up.
Please help with altering pants that SC state patrol guys wear. They are hideous. The seat is big enough for two people and the waist is tight.
