That's the easy part. Learning how to sew is the real challenge. If only I had watched my godmother more closely when I was growing up. She tried to teach me, but I figured it was too girly, and I didn't know enough to consider all the tailors.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, the only change I would make is the stitch choice. The small zigzag stitch is for stretch, jersey knit fabric. If you do a straight stitch it will pull and pop. Great video.

I've been doing high end prototype sewing for 25 years but never thought about tailoring a T-shirt. But why not do it? A cheap clothing item that fits well will look way better than a very expensive one that fits poorly.
The easiest way is to buy your shirts to fit in the shoulder and neck and be at least big enough everywhere else, then you just adjust all the other areas. If shirts that fit in the shoulder are always too small elsewhere then it's more difficult, either look for specialty sizes, buy/make custom shirts, or for something like tee shirts try ladies plus size, since sometimes they are narrow in the shoulder but generous through the waist.

I use to tailer my little sister's cloths and make her pants and shirts. when we were going to school. Before that our mother would do it for us. But, her and my father would be working. My dad always said that clothes look good when they fit rite. I still tailer my clothes. When I buy them.Especially when I hem pants I think it looks good. With Boots, Definitely makes you look sharp. I aways use Singer it's nice to me. 👍🏼💯
I really like what you are doing and I will be honest whit you! Much better to buy the right size then do all this stitching. I tried already whit jeans a couple of time, is not that easy how it looks like. I love to stitch but it takes time to make it a professional way. Thank you very much !
Thanks for the tip. The "Walking Feet" attachment is really needed. I tried to do this in the past with a normal attachment and it came out looking like a scrunchie.
Truly a useful skill to have. Boulder shoulders, big chest and thicc lats mean lots of t shirts fit poorly. A few nips and tucks on a t shirt make a massive difference in the way you look to others. I buy cheap t shirts in quantity and adjust. They last about a year and a half if I rotate well and wash about every 2 weeks (worn once, usually half a day). Would cost the same to buy 3 or 4 name brand t shirts, which would last maybe less time as they would be worn more time and require a more frequent laundry cycle.
I once owned a t-shirt with the perfect fit. Unfortunately I don't have it anymore, but I remember, that it was not only stichted together at the sides, but also in the back. It cost me more than any other t-shirt, but I never regret it. It was a LEVIS-shirt.
ive tailored a bunch of shirts without a sewing machine, would of saved me soo much time XD, i recall just figuring out these spots on my own...being thin growing up, a lot of shirts were just too loose making me look even smaller...very athletic now so i dont have to worry about tailoring much but there are a bunch of shirts i think i would like to work on for the sleeves still
Yep! Thanks for this Real Men. I had my wife knock out of couple of these for me last weekend on a few of my favorite shirts. They all fit so perfect now! Guys around the office swear I’ve been going to the gym because my biceps are popping out of my shirts. lmao thanks a million

Lol
using a sewing machine isn't as hard as it seems :)
Man I usually watch for clothing advice, but this… this is the Look right School man… thank you… 🤜🤛
Time to bring some new life to my old t-shirts
Truly a useful skill to have. Boulder shoulders, big chest and thicc lats mean lots of t shirts fit poorly. A few nips and tucks on a t shirt make a massive difference in the way you look to others.
I buy cheap t shirts in quantity and adjust. They last about a year and a half if I rotate well and wash about every 2 weeks (worn once, usually half a day).
Would cost the same to buy 3 or 4 name brand t shirts, which would last maybe less time as they would be worn more time and require a more frequent laundry cycle.
Aaaaaand this goes to the favorites playlist
Love it!
You channel has solutions of problems every men has
I once owned a t-shirt with the perfect fit. Unfortunately I don't have it anymore, but I remember, that it was not only stichted together at the sides, but also in the back.
It cost me more than any other t-shirt, but I never regret it. It was a LEVIS-shirt.
ive tailored a bunch of shirts without a sewing machine, would of saved me soo much time XD, i recall just figuring out these spots on my own...being thin growing up, a lot of shirts were just too loose making me look even smaller...very athletic now so i dont have to worry about tailoring much but there are a bunch of shirts i think i would like to work on for the sleeves still
This is helpful
Yep! Thanks for this Real Men. I had my wife knock out of couple of these for me last weekend on a few of my favorite shirts. They all fit so perfect now! Guys around the office swear I’ve been going to the gym because my biceps are popping out of my shirts. lmao thanks a million
Did it without a sewing machine took a little more time but worked out perfectly thanks so much
