Miki deserves better. There's a vid though, of the contestants and delegates doing the conga line while he was singing and it was epic! As for my ranking, from the bottom to top, Australia, Switzerland, Spain, Iceland, Norway.
If you consider that Iceland has a population of only 370.000 people, it’s really astonishing how they are able to bring quality songs in such a diversity every year.
La venda is in my personal top 5, spain deserves better, even this year spain had such a beautiful heartfelt song and blas canto should have made at least top 10 with it 😭 sadly as a canadian i could not vote for them
La venda was amazing!! Me and my mom danced during the whole song and we voted for it! I was a bit sad tho that the air instruments weren't on the stage like the national selection ^^
The joik is not a language. Its a traditional way of singing among the Sami people. They do have their own languages but there are no words in the joik
A joik can have words in it, usually just short words and it's a modern style to have many words in a joik. A joik is also meant to be the embodiment of something or someone, basically you don't joik ABOUT someone/something, you joik them. One joik is called Maze which is a town between Alta and Kautokeino in Norway. The joik would then be how it feels when you are in Maze and the Maze joik contains words describing the place like "golden Maze". Some Sami artist I love are Mari Boine and Ella Marie Hætta Isaksen, both of these are from Norway.
@@phueal this is almost correct! you joik a an aspect of nature or a place or a person. Mostly without using any words but rather feelings and emotions into it. If there are words it's usually just short like if its about your mother and her name is Inga you would have a joik that could include the words "loving mother" or "fierce protector" but that's about it.
I love it every time someone reacts to Hatari - there has never been anything like it! Even Lordi in 2006 didn’t have the same nihilistic atmosphere. Such an amazing song, and unique at Eurovision.
I'd love to see her reacting to the whole Eurovision. I mean her seeing the whole 3+ hours of this lovely mess, not only performances but also voting and behind the scenes. Also please, react to "Love, love, peace, peace"
Hiii, I'm a Swedish sami girl. (The scandinavian natives, finland, sweden, norway) the song technique used in "spirit in the sky" is joik, it is not a language, just sound. The clothing and the song is from the sami culture. There are several sami languages but no words are used in joik usually. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
So basically the issue was that the Belarussian jury discussed their semi-final jury votes which is against the rules. The belarussian jury result was based upon the results of countries with historical ties. The issue was that the incorrect score was presented in the final (the votes got reversed). It was a lot of chaos in the end but I'm happy for Tamara for winning the jury vote.
Honestly Justice for Miki. La Venda went OFF, i have no idea why it was done so dirty in the voting? I mean coming on directly after Kate and her Cirque du Soleil spectacular was always gonna be OOF but still??
Hatari (iceland) has the funniest interviews and online/tv personas!! they are SO dead-pan and crazy stupid! - also at the final they were thrown out from the green-room for waving a palestinian flag (it was hosted in israel..) . eventhough eurovision is supposed to be a politics-free competition, we all know it's far from that so they felt like they should stand up for someting.
yall have to react to austria 2014 rise like a phoenix and finland 2006 lordi (both were winners). and if yall do 2018 react to denmark's viking song and cyprus J Lo vibes and germany. I live for these reaction videos ngl💕
i found it really funny when you called kate miller-heidke (Australia) a tall queen... she's only around 160 cm it was just that floating dress that made her look so tall hahah
Will there be reaction for Eurovision 2020? I know it was cancelled, but we did have some good songs (Russia, Iceland, Switzerland, Israel, Sweden, ...)
So does Danielle know about the curse of disadvantage of the permanent 5 countries (Italy, UK, Spain, Germany, France) and how it is extra difficult for them to win because they get to perform only in the finale whereas other countries compete in semi-finals and thus get more exposure? Germany and Italy have won in the recent years but only because their songs were so unique and original to their competition that year.
Italy generally do well because all the artists win Sanremo festival which is actually the competition that inspired Eurovision. Unlike other Eurovision selection competitions there is much more of a focus on good music than "winning Eurovision" because winning Sanremo is considered a big honor. Hopefully, with Spain selecting it's entrant from Festival de Benidorm, we will see more hope for them.
Basically the Belarussian jury broke the rules in the semi final so they were banned in the final. To replace them, they took an average of how the countries around Belarus voted. But they accidentally put the votes UPSIDE DOWN so the last place was first and first place was last. After the contest Euro Bruno on Twitter figured out the results were upside down so the results were changed after the contest. North Macedonia ended up winning the jury vote and Israel, who had only gotten points from Belarus, came last. Overall the results didn't change too much other than Norway falling out of the top 5
Love love love your takes and the genuine enjoyment and reactions you're giving to every Eurovision video. It would be hilarious to see you react to other bits of the contest, like the performers' faces when the votes go up (Portugal's singer winning 3 years ago and Manneskin's whole reaction to the voting rollercoaster was epic). Hi from Iceland! so much fun watching you guys react to Eurovision, especially Iceland's entries (even though they aren't always the best). keep up making great content
Honestly I'm not into bdsm I don't live that rock emo gothic alternative lifestyle. But hatari is one of my absolute favourite acts on Eurovision ever. It's unique , it's a performance, it's like a fck U to the mainstream songs, it's just appealing to me . 🤣
Yesss hello from spain, thanks for reacting to La Venda! It wasn't a winning song but 22th place?? Dang we really were robbed that year :( though tbh I still hate the staging lol My ranking: 5th - Switzerland, and then... I can't rank the other four, I like them a lot and I can't choose haha Also sorry but I don't know what's bubble tea lol
Great video as always! Although I believe the real winner was not competing that year. I think MARUV - Siren Song and the 2019 Ukraine drama deserve a video on its own. That performance that won the Ukrainian National selection was EVERYTHING.
you're so right about la venda!!! i'm from spain and i followed miki all the way from the contest he comes from, and i really thought that we were gonna be in the top 15 😥

I'm so happy you guys liked Miki, he was part of Operación Triunfo, which is a singing contest here in Spain and everyone loved him so by televoting we sent him to the Eurovision Contest, as someone said the other artists literally formed a giant conga singing and dancing while he was on stage so we felt very bad when he got that position.

Next in order Switzerland, Spain, Iceland and Australia. 2019 was one of my favourite Eurovision years. San Marino’s song is a guilty pleasure of mine, lol
Australia was so amazing live. I was in the audience and it was great seeing her wheeled in and out. The audience lost their shit in the semi-final I was at, definitely an audience favourite but dont think how much movement she had was captured by the cameras/broadcast
I went to the 1st live Semi Final and the Judging final that is the day before the live final for 2019. Spain really deserved better but sadly they performed last which notoriously does badly - audience once again went crazy for them at the judges final.
When you run out of eurovision content, please react to the "mini-eurovisions" like Melody grand prix and Melodifestivalen 🥰 you really don't know what massively great songs you miss out on. Like Dotters little tot and Jon Henrik Fjällgren [insert every song he's ever made].

i love your eurovision reactions and you guys! it’d be amazing if you reacted to eurovision 2018 (sweden, germany, ireland, cyprus, italy and czech republic especially)
There are a lot of meme moments in Eurovision. I'd love to see you react to those. Like Verka Seduchka, or even the half time Love Love Peace Peace performance in Sweden (2016 i believe).
If you guys like Alexandra from Keiino you should look up her clips from the competition show "Stjernekamp" in Norway! a show where performers compete against in each other and perform songs in different genres every week. Her singing has been EXTREMELY GOOD - even her opera was crazy impressive!
I looved Miki and La Venda. But it was always a song where while I love it, there were songs I loved more, so I would not vote for La Venda probably :-D Switzerland though.. Luca Hanni and She Got Me was everything! Australia was something I was annoyed by until I saw the staging. LOVED IT!
Fun fact: there is an acoustic version of Australia's song on the official Eurovision channel with just Kate on the piano and it is STUNNING! Also, Switzerland was already good in 2017 and 2018... except no one noticed, because they didn't make it to the final. :(
Hi I’m from Norway. It’s called joik and is a traditional song form. It’s usually preformed by Sámi people of Sapmi in Northern Europe. I don’t blame you for not knowing. Love this video.

Yes girlsss, I love these kind of videos from you!❤️💅🏻
If you guys like Alexandra from Keiino you should look up her clips from the competition show "Stjernekamp" in Norway! a show where performers compete against in each other and perform songs in different genres every week. Her singing has been EXTREMELY GOOD - even her opera was crazy impressive!
Omg yay! Another eurovision video ! Can’t wait until you react to Eurovision 2012 Sweden ❤️
I looved Miki and La Venda. But it was always a song where while I love it, there were songs I loved more, so I would not vote for La Venda probably :-D
Switzerland though.. Luca Hanni and She Got Me was everything!
Australia was something I was annoyed by until I saw the staging. LOVED IT!
Alena dying in the background of Iceland is litaerly me.😅👏
Fun fact: there is an acoustic version of Australia's song on the official Eurovision channel with just Kate on the piano and it is STUNNING!
