Not necessarily. In my case we are colleagues. So there is a risk of it being awkward and there is also the fear of rejection on both sides. I can tell he likes me at least as a person, and wants to be around me.

Actually, they do it to be playful, they expect you to say something sassy that will show him or her that they are stupid to pass up on you. It happened to me and I didn't know, so instead I felt the guy was trying to hurt my feelings, so it hurt my pride and it caused me CPTSD. I would bottle up feelings, instead of touching him. They love to be touched.
Mixed signals means NO. Men are not that complicated. No guy who is attracted you behaves this way… he might have options or you’re a placement holder

I agree with you. Immature or had a trauma from a previous relationship and is afraid to take actions, but date only other people who he thinks he can have the situation under control (meaning not engaging in feelings). Both are wrong and do not allow him to enjoy life.
I know a man who reacts like this with me. And while he is intelligent, admirable etc, I think he is the second case: he felt in love before, got deeply disappointed, and now is afraid to have responsibilities. 😏

It's going to save you a lot of wasted time and energy if you just wait for the right one. Never settle for a relationship because you don't want to be alone or because you don't believe that you can find better. What is meant for you, will find its way to you.

How to spot an emotional immature person:
If this is one man we are talking about and he is exposing 2-3 of those signs, then this is a man with a trauma and definitely not a viable relationship material, sorry. if I have to walk on eggshells and baby a guy because he is "scared", "afraid", or "insecure", I'd be way better on my own. Take notes, women, don't sell yourselves cheap.
This is horrible advice. Ladies, a man that wants you will have no problem expressing that to you. You will have no doubt that he is serious about you. Men are not as complicated as people make it seem. And in the rare case that he does have feelings for you but can’t express his true feelings to you, this means that he is emotionally immature. In this case, let it go because you don’t need someone who cannot communicate or who has emotional damage. That simple.

That’s not true. Most men aren’t good are expressing their feelings. It’s normal.
This isn’t always the case.. my ex husband had no issues with expressing how much he loves me but treated me the opposite. My best friend however, has a very difficult time expressing how much he loves me but isn’t afraid to show it! It just depends on the man!

This explains so much for me, yet at the same time, it only makes the situation look even more like murky water.... if I just take things slow and stick to the plan, then perhaps something positive can come out from this. My interest in my co-worker comes from knowing that he's a bachelor by choice, yet, he has a lot of friends that are female. If his resolve is fading when it comes to remaining single, then I guess I can just rest easy knowing that I'm playing my cards right.

What if a guy you have been mutual friends with for years tells you he cares for you but wouldn’t even dance with you? I tried dancing with him and he totally dodged it even though i was trying to be friendly about it(We have danced together before either of us got married to different people)
Unless you’re both widowed/divorced I wouldn’t recommend dancing with him either. Can’t lead to anything good if you’re both currently married. For future reference, the thing you need to understand about guys is they can like you but not necessarily enough to pursue a relationship with you. As a rule of thumb, flirt for a week or two and if he doesn’t ask you out move on. It’s the best way trust me.
Maybe he wants to so much, it physically hurts him not to be with you, so needs to hold back …. No point in having you in his arms for 5 minutes if it can’t be longer.

I’m so confused because we were flirting the other day and then he blocked me.
I act the same way. If I'm struggling with my feelings, I ignore you to a point. If I see you coming I will go down a different path. I will speak and have a good conversation with you if we can break the ice. Then, I will struggle with my feelings if it's something unattainable to me and I will ignore you in order to get myself under control.
So frankly, if they are ignoring you then I think it's not because they don't like you or aren't attracted to you, but because you are off limits for some reason. If YOU don't think there is a reason a relationship should be off limits then I think ladies should pursue a tad. Go talk to him, get in his space. I've been seeing a guy like this in the past, a green eyed monster when he saw me talking to another man, but he himself was dating other women the whole time he knew me, it's a major red flag.
