What a great tutorial video. I'm going to print one of these to have for my next con.

Sweet! The best part is that you can literally create unlimited uses for it! Link it to a donation page and get people to send you tips! 😂 😆

I'm curious about the first one you printed. You have black and white together. So isn't the printer changing reels on every layer? Doesn't that create printing time that is unacceptable? I mean, how long did it actually take?

@@moodberry yes it has color swaps. I explain that in the video. You can also see total print time when I slice it.

Thank you for the video, I must say a chopped QR code in the models would be another good promotion hack

Yep agreed. A way to authenticate your work!

How small can you make a functional QR code? I had problems.

Great idea, but I can't move the layer up in the slicer?

Sorry I am trying to follow. You can't move the layer up? Do you mean the QR code up? You need to merge (assemble) the qr code with the background. Once they are merged you can move it up.

Only the second raised print is actually correct; the first print would need the QR code to be flipped so it's printed in the correct orientation. You can see the issue with the item printed in blue at the end of the video - the alignment squares are in the wrong corners for that print.

Works perfectly fine for me. I simply had the code rotated is all.

@@bambamprint While you may be able to scan all the codes you 3D printed in some apps, go to 7:27 and note that the blue QR code in the top-left, and the black one in bottom-left (rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise to the blue one) are mirror images of the others (not rotated).

I see what you're saying, and you're absolutely right-I could have flipped it to match the original QR code exactly. That said, it scans perfectly either way, so whether it's flipped or not doesn't affect its functionality.
