Pro Tip - re-evaluate Flushing Volumes Multiplier if you previously used a custom value other than the default of 1.0. Prior to the BETA 2 of v1.10, I used LeonFisherSkipper's custom GCODE to implement the long retraction, and I consistently used the Flushing Volumes Multiplier of 0.5 with 0 bleed issues. However, after using 1.10 BETA 2, where I switched from the custom GCODE to using the Long Retraction Cut with each filament I was using, as well as the at the printer level (I had to turn on the Dev Mode to get to that setting), and I had black PETG bleed into Orange PETG. I don't know if the bleeding was the result of switching from LeonFisherSkipper's GCODE to the native long retraction (both in the filament and printer settings) and/or the color purge reductions Bambu Lab made, but something resulted in color bleeding I have never had before. So, going forward, I will be testing stepping down from the default multiplier of 1.0 like I did back in the day when I got to the multiplier of 0.5 with the custom GCODE. The lesson learned that I should have tested both changes independently before doing a large print and encountering bleed. I.E. I threw change management out the window by making 2 major changes at once and got burned/bled by doing so.😁
Thank you for the recap. I cant wait to go home and see how this will improve my printing experience. Also excited to hear more news about the upcoming printer from Bambu 😬
So many new things.. I dont understand a few of them, seems like this would be a good time to make some more in depth videos about some of these features.. Thanks for posting!
Thank you Nick! There are a lot of new features that I’m really interested in, like the brim ears, and the new SVG feature, and so many more. I’ll definitely be re-watching this video to really soakthis in.
I personally didn't like the new way it treats SVGs. I was in the middle of creating a model within the slicer when I decided to upgrade the slicer. Old software recognized the SVG as separate parts which made it easy to paint each section. The new software uploaded it as 1 object with less detail. Luckily orca still recognized the SVG the old way and I was able to export it as a 3MF, then upload it to bambu studio and continue my work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I couldn't see any settings to break up the SVG after uploading it into bambu. Just adjustments to angle and thickness.
On the shrinkage percentage, when i print abs after it cool my round part doesn’t shrink / evenly after noon i have a high and low spot. So if i print 3 inch cirlce after cools down it 2.990 and 3.005 what should i put for the shrinkage percent ?
When I switch off the default Smart Scarf Seam option the slicer and printer (A1) still makes a scarf seam. Is there a way to still get a simple seam like in the previous version?
Hello, one of the biggest innovations. Texts are now mixed in english and german. Even when trying to print a "Benchy" there are at least 3 warnings. Very helpful 🤔👍
I upgraded to this version of the software. I have a stubborn model I'm trying to print that is lifting on a corner. I switched the brim setting to "painted" and then used the brim ears tool. BUT, after I slice, the brim ears disappear. I tried printing, and it just started printing my model. I thought the brim would be printed first? Any suggestions? Shouldn't we see the brim ears after slicing and before sending to the printer?
I updated this last night and wow this is the biggest update in a while! Does the AMS retraction bit apply to the A1? It already creates quite a bit less poo than the P1S/X1C. Only Bambu filament is strange but that's probably nothing that me just manually entering it as Bambu filament can't fix. 😛
Some great changes. I updated but had to roll back. It was so slow and unresponsive. I was unable to pan a part in the preview section. Back to the previous version I had and working normally again. I'll wait for the next update to hopefully fix that issue.
What would be great is the ability for the app to get the correct price for bambu filament. It seems to like defaulting to 27.99 (iirc) when I buy mine at 11.99 currently.
Ok? So i updated my bambu studio on my laptop, but 99% of the time i use bambu HANDY. Because whenever I download a file from makerwork on studio and try to print it, it gives layer errors and im too new to this to understand how to fix it or even what it is complaining about. All that said, will I still get the multicolor purge optimization on handy as well?
Dont think you follow me, bought 2 X1Cs on a whim. First 3d printers ive ever owned. 0 3d modeling exp in any program ever. So when I say I dont understand, its not something a wiki page is going to solve. Im lacking the months or years of learning curve. For now im just printing things off makerworld others have made, hense why I asked if HANDY is also getting the multicolor purge optimization, because i dont understand how to get studio to actually do its fucking job. HANDY on the other hand "no pun intended" just simply works with like 3 button presses.
@@herpderp1662 What is the exact "layer error" you are referring to? Sometimes the models you download will have little popups in the bottom right that are warning you about floating elements, etc, but you can still print it anyway because the file will print correctly regardless. Either way, you are doing yourself a massive disservice by owning two expensive 3d printers and only using the app to print. Familiarizing yourself with the slicer will make 3d printing much more engaging and customizable, and when you run into issues with something you printed from the app, you will be able to tweak settings to make it work. If you can tell me the exact error you're talking about, I can help you get it to work myself as I'm almost positive it's an easy fix or something you can ignore.

There was also a collision error on a couple of them, but when I opened up the file and looked at the model on the plate, none of the pieces were touching or colliding in any way. So for the time being i was just using the app instead. I havent made a 3d model yet, as ive never used ANY 3d modeling software before so not only is 3d printing new to me, so is the concept of modeling. I dont know why but this new version runs very laggy on both of my PCs. Maybe there is an issue with AMD and Bambu Studio? I had to roll back to 1.09. Sad cause these updates are cool!!
This is good news, but 2 things don't work here: - Autocalibration for the A series, because firmware 01.04.00.00 is not yet available - Importing STEP files, which causes Bambu Studio to crash
