    Plant based 100%

Very interesting to watch! The only reason I personally try to eat a lot of (plant based) protein is satiety. That's what is still confusing me most. On days when I eat more legumes and tofu, I simply feel better and I don't need to eat overall as much. Eating a meal of e.g. rice with a salad simply doesn't feel as satiating. Could it be psychological? Or, is subjective satiety not a reliable marker of how healthy something is?

Thank you! That's a great question! This study www.researchgate.net/publication/15701207_A_Satiety_Index_of_common_foods looked into satiety of different foods. There weren't enough plant-based high protein foods in there to conclusively say - it seems from the data that how satiating a food is has more to do with how processed it is than the protein content, with less processed foods being more filling. Even if it is psychological, I think it's great if it helps you eat more legumes and tofu, since they're wonderfully nutritious 😊

I was surprised recently to realise that broccoli has as much protein per calorie as beans, and MUSHROOMS have comfortably more than twice as much.
I recently lost a lot of weight and thought I ought to check that with reduced food intake I'm getting at least 0.8g per healthy kg and found I was comfortably - without resorting to isolates.
And by my reckoning any increase in activity necessitating more calories would bring sufficient protein with it - so long that the calories are not supplied by confectionery or soda.
Not that I would ever eat it, but even white bread would be the right side of the line.

I agree, you can track your protein intake through something like Cronometer and you'll tend to find just as you did that getting sufficient protein is not a challenge 👍

What type of doctor are you?

Speaking of common nutritional knowledge I would say it is 'common' knowledge to eat 1g per kilo of bodyweight for normal activity and health. If You are actively pursuing body building you can go to 1.5-2g.
Is that a lot? I'm not sure what your video will say as I'm commenting about a third in.
Now as to the marketing bombardment, I will agree with you we are overwhelmingly told protein is 'healthy' whereas carbs in the form of sugar especially or fats are the unhealthy of the trinity of macro nutrients
Once again I'll just say if you are at all involved with the mainstream nutrition, you will be made aware that none of those are healthy or not individually and it is all about the balance and overall caloric consumption as you strive towards specific goals (muscle building, fat loss, longevity etc.)
So I'm curious and ill finish watching to see what you say about that, because so far you have danced around the actual important topics with more colloquial types of understanding like protein=good? and big animals don't need to eat meat for their muscles...😊

My goodness I had to reach 36:00 before you mentioned any actual numbers! .8g per kg of lean body mass and you did not disagree with it but spent the entire video speaking vaguely about just not eating any additional protein.
You gave evidence in the form of a single study from a hundred years ago where people just ate potatoes and thus lived with 7% calories from protein and did apparently well...as far as academic 'proof' that's pretty garbage...
Anyway, to anyone reading comments before finishing the video this is the TLDR: you don't need to worry about protein because normal foods will give enough unless you live off of candy basically.
But he talks about vague terms like 'more' the entire time instead of just using numbers and academic research which is super frustrating...
My recommendation for the doctor here is you are reading, don't be afraid to throw up research and discuss it because your audience is smarter than you think.

Carbs and sugars plus processed foods are killing us

LOW QUALITY CARBS ... Largely because they displace healthy food.
Would you consider BEANS to be "evil carbs" ?

      fruits and yams are carbs.
Are you saying those are involved culprits?
